  1. He earned his extension.....fire him halfway through it. Brilliant!
  2. Was a 3* back out of high school. Had offers from UM and SDSU after being an early commit (mid-June).
  3. Sure seems like you were....
  4. Nor are the semi-finals of the NCAA hockey tournament, regardless who is involved, which are played at a neutral site. But now you're moving the goalposts by using a single program instead of the entire subdivision. To prove the point, at this very moment, I could purchase 4 tickets on the 50 yard line, 3 rows up for a the other semi-final match-up. Total cost after fees: $125 total.
  5. So are 90%+ of FCS playoff games and those are on campus of a team participating. What's your point?
  6. Big Sky had a better RPI last year (though close) and currently is well ahead of the Summit this season.
  7. Richman won't be let go, he's out of contract years after this season. They are doing the exact same thing to Richman that UND did with Jones a couple years ago. If he manages to make the tournament in his lame duck year like Jones did, he'll get an extension. Unfortunately for him, it doesn't look realistic, unlike UND in 2016/17. Otherwise it doesn't take a rocket science to figure out that a coach currently in the middle of the last year on his contract might not be with his current team before a coach that has 2 1/2 years left. NDSU has shown they are no more willing to buy out a coach's contract than UND is. Take a look at their VB or WBB programs for proof. In VB they flat out announced their coach wasn't going to be renewed even though she still had a season to coach and they were going to have her coach it out (she voluntarily left for another job) and their WBB program is a disaster and no one cares.
  8. Now you're just missing the point...
  9. Careful, your lack of intelligence is showing. Fair question, KSU already stated he's getting paid something like $88K for the remained of 2018, so he's on the payroll at two different state institutions.
  10. Just so everyone is clear, Idaho's report specifically states that there is no requirement for the CFP to give a re-started WAC any money from the CFP pot. In fact it is listed as both a Weakness and a Threat under the SWOT analysis of Idaho re-joining the WAC as an FBS team. If the contract is re-negotiated before 2026 and the WAC is an FBS conference by then, they could be included, but there is no guarantee of either of those things happening before an unknown date in time.
  11. Not that it mattered at all but the announcer said they only had 9 scholarship players and that a couple of their main rotation guys were still playing at the end or close to it. Thought that was a little strange.
  12. Currently the 4th longest tenured coach in the NHL, not bad.
  13. Well this will be awkward.....one of NDSU's top recruits, who happen to hold an offer from KSU, is going to be in Fargo for a visit this weekend. Wonder how much time he'll spend talking with Klieman? https://www.inforum.com/sports/football/931876-One-of-NDSUs-top-incoming-recruits-will-visit-Fargo-this-weekend
  14. You said "I think Chaves will be better than Faison was in that regard" implying that the extensions were ill-timed or not deserved at the time they were given which I pointed out they that isn't really accurate. You can argue he could have let Jones go early, but gave him one more year to prove himself instead of buying out the contract and Jones performed. I'm not sure anyone even knows what Brewster's contract situation currently is though I have to imagine he's getting towards the end of his last extension.
  15. EMAW!
  16. Figured there was something.
  17. Not that there is a ton of overlap, but the limitations are that he can't recruit any player to his new school that the school hasn't had contact with or unless the recruit initiates the contact. Good luck enforcing that. Bohl didn't have his previous AD at a P5 school. GT stuck his neck out big time with the fan base on this one and his history with Klieman is the only reason why. No other AD would have given him an interview with that big of (perceived) jump. Still can't believe they are keeping him on. He'll be in Manhattan tomorrow for a press conference. Whoever is going with him is working on figuring out how to salvage their new recruiting class while the coaches who are staying/being left behind have their full focus on SDSU and making sure they don't lose a few of their top recruits. Anyone but SDSU or maybe EWU, I would say it wouldn't matter with the team they have this year, but it will be interesting to watch it play out. Guessing someone on staff gets the nod to replace CK, though I could easily see them finding some loophole to completely ignore state hiring requirements and bring in an outside candidate in short order.
  18. Klieman took the phone call to accept the job while at practice. KSU gives him $12+ million over the next 5 years and you think they aren't in a hurry to get him working? They have something like 9 commits, dead period starts Monday and early signing day on the 19th. I'm sure he's laser focused...
  19. At the time their extensions were signed: Jones' contract was up and he had just made the NCAA tournament and was named Big Sky coach of the year. Bubba was going into the final year on his contract and signed his extension after making the playoffs as a seeded team and being Big Sky coach of the year. A more important part of that contract was a boost in the assistant coaching pool and preventing him from going into a lame duck year. I can't remember what Brewster's contract situation and apparently finding details on it aren't exactly easy for some reason.
  20. Sagarin is a computer algorithm and it isn't done by USA Today, they just host the listing on their site. It has admitted issues when connecting and comparing FCS/FBS teams as there are so few games between the teams (a little over 100 this year) and trying to tie together 255 teams.
  21. 16,400, over 2,500 short of capacity for a quarterfinal game. Apparently winning solves attendance issues until you do it too much...
  22. I wouldn't believe a word Larry Scott says. Absolutely terrible at his job.
  23. I hope him and his whole staff navigate those landmines to the best of their ability.
  24. Yeah but we didn't have any All-Conference players this year!?!?!
