Does it make it better if I say currently playing for 2nd place going into the last weekend of the season?
-
UND has played a whopping 1 game against the MVFC in the last 5 years. They lost to the preseason 2nd place team by a whole 7 points in one of their worst seasons ever and put more yards on them than anyone in the MVFC did and more points than all but 1 team (not counting UNI's 2OT points).
-
I guess its a good thing they don't play until next year. Excited to see another vaunted MVFC defense (outside of NDSU's) lock down an OOC opponent.
-
Yeah but it left 19 minutes late. Way to go Delta.
-
No way to know (I'd say yes), but their only common opponent was SDSU. SDSU beat Indiana State 29-0 and UND 35-28.

I am not concerned about the new head coaching salary, Faison will pay what he needs to go get the right guy here. What I am wondering about is improving the salary pool for assistant coaches. I'm sure that a new head coach will negotiate that as well, but it is something that definitely needs to be addressed.

NDSU may not allow Wisconsin to the century mark, but they wouldn't sniff anywhere near 85 points either. The reason Wisconsin was getting good looks pretty much boiled down to their center having a career game. UND had a tough time because their 7 footer kept popping out to the three point line and proceeded to go 6-6. Do you know what that does to a defense when you are already playing with a smaller line-up? Bjorklund won't move out past 12 feet from the basket, it isn't his game and that will be a significant difference. And I think you're overstating how many shot UND forced. Their were a few, but they are an aggressive team. I was actually surprised Wisconsin didn't have more fouls called on them, but non-conference game at a B1G school, you aren't going to get the benefit of the doubt. I can see NDSU getting into some foul trouble on Sunday. If UND can contain Bjorklund, I think they win. As for dictating the tempo, I haven't seen much of that from NDSU this year compared to last year though part of that could be the new foul rules.

Luke seemed to be a pretty good recruiter in Illinois. Not sure where he would fit in on a new staff though. Agree on what you mentioned as well.
-
Pretty good sight seeing that from the tower.

Overall, Wisconsin is a better defensive team than NDSU though they seemed to be content running with UND, which isn't how they normally play. If NDSU chooses to do that, they won't win (takes Bjorklund out of the game). If they can turn it into more of a half court game, it plays into their favor. Doesn't Saul model his team after Bo Ryan's? Probably helps UND some coming off that game.

I doubt if they are short forwards, Rodwell is being benched, especially announcing it this early in the week. Panzarella playing at forward seems very odd to me.
-
I'll sum it up for you...

How quick is Brown? I'm not sure that they stick Braun on Huff either, maybe rotate but I don't think they will the whole game. Wouldn't be surprised to see UND go Nash/Huff/Anderson and two of Webb/Schuler/Hooker, especially if Bjorklund is out of the game.
-
Not a rumor. Multiple Allegiant flights every week.
-
Watched part of it over lunch. Watching Kaminski light it up from deep is still mind boggling the second time around.
-
Huff was out and Brekke took an elbow from Bjorklund (unintentional) 3 minutes into the game that has him where he is today. No Huff to guard Braun made for a completely different game than the year before.
-
I wonder how many inaccuracies one person can have in a single post?
-
Clearly that list has only one name and it is Dean Blais...
-
There was 261 ticket left as of this morning.
-
Truth. I'd say odds are better than 50% that his choice is someone that hasn't been mentioned or only in passing.
-
Box score said Webb for 18 and Hooker for 24. Hooker exceeded my expectations last night, he is going to be fun to watch. Didn't think that Webb played that many minutes last night, didn't seem like he was out there as much.
-
You don't think that the guy they put in charge in the interim is doing something along those lines?
-
The good news is Bjorklund likely won't take a shot outside of the lane, so don't have to worry about that. He's got a nice touch and doesn't miss much when he gets the ball in position though. I'm assuming Huff guards Braun like he did two years ago, that will be a great match-up to watch. Huff frustrated him something fierce drawing a technical out of him at the Ralph two years ago. So far this year it looks like NDSU remains a good defensive team and a streaky offensive team. Their offense is kind of a mess to watch but I expect them to give it to Bjorklund early and often. Nash and Wright should also be a pretty good match-up of two tall, lanky athletic dudes. Anderson/Webb/Hooker need to lock down Alexander and hope that Felt doesn't get in a rhythm.

UND couldn't match up with Wisconsin's height, not only Kaminsky but Dekker too. Not sure what you can do besides shake your head when their 7' center shoots 6-6 from 3 point land and their power forward drives, dribbles behind his back to split the defenders and finishes with a dunk. Brekke was missed big time, couldn't prevent them from getting the ball into the post the majority of the time. UND got them to play up and down, just didn't expect them to shoot almost 60% from the field. Interesting tidbit, from what I can see, Wisconsin hasn't given up 85 points since 2010-2011 (at #1 Ohio St). They haven't given up 85 points at home since 2005-2006 vs EKU (89 in double overtime).

Don't use logic with Dan.
