  1. NDSU will be rewarded because UNO is not eligible and there are only 7 eligble teams. Summit's tournament won't move days either, unless they don't want it televised I suppose.
  2. I won't argue the stability point and convenience of the Summit's setup (again, mainly for SDSU and USD fans), but for a one bid league, it makes the regular season almost pointless. Other than for seeding purposes, the Summit regular season means absolutely nothing, in fact every (eligible) team makes the tournament. What is NDSU's reward for winning the regular season this year going to be? Playing in front of a hostile crowd in South Dakota. Sounds like a great deal! I guess Saul is guaranteed a spot in the NIT if NDSU performs in Sioux Falls like they have the last 4 years, so we don't have to worry about him whining about it this year, so I guess that is a benefit. Bigger conferences have no problem setting their tournaments at neutral sites because if the number one seed loses, they are likely going to the tournament regardless. There isn't as big of a downside nor backlash because it is unfair. As for the rankings and bracketology, again, it is one year. Get multiple bids or win a game, then get back to me. You're saying the past doesn't matter, but until either of those two things happens, the Summit autobid will continue to be ranked in the 13-16 range as it has in the past.
  3. Minus the previous ones you have been banned under, but yeah, other than that.
  4. A few points: -UND has already beat those schools for recruits, this year and in the past. By no means every battle, but with how UND has performed the past few years and the lack of emphasis that was put on those states, more than they should have. Why is it going to change all of the sudden to no recruits? -The Summit has been up the last few years, but they have historically been the same. Not sure where your confidence of them remaining where they currently are forever comes from. And until either one of them gets more than one bid or consistently gets ranked higher than the other in the tournament, you're blowing hot air. Oh, and the Summit has a losing record in the head to head match-ups against the Big Sky this year. -The new SF arena will probably draw very well, but it will be 90%+ SDSU and USD fans. Will NDSU even have 500 fans? Maybe if they make it to the championship game, but otherwise, I'd take the under.
  5. Always the victim, conveniently forgetting what actually happened. Patented gfhockey letdown.
  6. But open season on the current coach, who falls into similar categories, is perfectly fine? Hak hasn't won the big one yet, but has been incredibly successful. Confused why criticism of one is not only fine but more or less encouraged but the other is off limits.
  7. 75-63 final, UND wins. Glad they made me look smart with my prediction. Missed the first half, but they looked good from what I saw. If only they could do that with some consistency...
  8. 71-59, under a minute to go. Antwi at the line for 2.
  9. Schuler in street clothes tonight?
  10. 64-53 UND with 3:45 to go.
  11. Trying something new, going to see how it works out. Don't blame you though.
  12. UND's a 2 point underdog. Predicting that they roll with a 10+ point victory, salvaging a split.
  13. You're telling me there is more than one person that illiterate??
  14. And you also started not one but two Fire Muss threads along with another similar one in the middle of the football season. And yeah, sure seems like your only intent was to keep the game threads clean... In a roundabout way yes, I guess so? I guess they were picked 4th/6th in the coaches and media poll and I thought it was a little lower than that, but still thought they surprised some people. They probably would have been picked around the same spot in the preseason poll this year bringing everyone back this year, but regardless of that, they are still underachieving across the board this year.
  15. I tend to ignore pretty much everything that happened during transition in relation to his performance, it had to be tough to get guys to play here. I'm amazed at the current senior class that Jones was able to put together when he basically recruited with nothing to sell them. Last year, I think his team overachieved by finishing 3rd and taking Weber to the wire in the semi's, pretty sure no one predicted either of those things to happen. This year I think they are underachieving based on what their results were last year, but the season isn't over.
  16. Quite the deductive reasoning you used to get to that conclusion. I don't like this thread because it was started 5 games in to the conference schedule and some people think that putting someone out of a job should be a knee-jerk decision after every loss. Again, I'm disappointed how the season has gone but I am pretty confident Jones remains employed even if he doesn't win a game the rest of the year unless you or someone is going to write a check that says otherwise. And even then, I am pretty confident that he will still be coaching at the start of next season. Never said that history always repeat itself, but almost every single year his team has played its best basketball at the end of the year. That's called a trend and I'm hopeful that it continues.
  17. I don't disagree with a lot of what you wrote. My point is that it is just sad and frankly embarassing that it is so predictable to see a "Fire Coach X" comment or thread after every single loss. Not going to deny that the regular season has been disappointing and quite honestly impossible to understand or predict. Jones teams have histroically gotten hot at the end of the year, hoping that the trend continues.
  18. Fox Sports North Plus. 339/639 on Midco Grand Forks.
  19. 1 1/2 game lead in the conference standings, keep it up ladies!
  20. Which is also tied for 3rd in the conference, right in the neighborhood of where they were picked to finish in the conference in the preseason.
  21. Have him put up a fence and gfhockey won't stumble through, messing it up on his way to the next bar.
  22. Why? Its not happening this year. The reaction to every single loss for UND athletic teams on this website is embarrassing.
  23. I figured a split on this road trip, was hoping they'd get the win tonight and prove me wrong Saturday.
  24. Sac St passes the ball around for 34 seconds and get a layup to move it to 8 points. UND misses a 3, Traylor with the offensive rebound and one to bring it to a 5 point game with 50 seconds to go.
