They sure put a lot of work into the low majors in that bracketology. Pick the current leader and give them a spot. Until the new ESPN bracketology came out yesterday, both conferences were slated for a 15 seed, but of course you weren't going to bring that up. When the actual committee does their seeding and look at why the RPI of the Summit is where it is and then look at their (lack of) top 100 wins, you are going to end up being disappointed. And I like how you conveniently ignored your ignorance on the historical seeding of the conferences.

At least you remain consistently inconsistent in your stances and standards.

Dean Smith started coaching UNC in 1961 and didn't win a title until 1982. Turned out waiting it out on that guy was a good idea.

80 pages in this thread would indicate otherwise.

If I remember correctly, he applied for the job in Mankato in April but didn't get it. Hak restructured the staff, Eades was let go and then named Head Coach/GM of the USHL team in Sioux Falls a week later. Guessing there was all kinds of behind the scenes stuff going on before things were announced, but that is the publicly available timeline.

You obviously have a personal thing for Steve Johnson so I won't even argue with you on that. Guentzel seems like he will someday be a solid head coach and likely soon, but there is no way to know whether he would be better than Hak. Plus, who's to say he'd have any interest in coaching at UND. And I think you're over-exaggerating on a slide since Eades departure. Since big picture results seem to be the issue with Hak, in 3 of Eades's last 4 years at UND, they lost in the Regional Finals. First year without him, loss in the Regional Finals. Quite the slide.

Saw Carr at the hockey game on Friday. He looks he's been putting serious work in, can't wait to see him on the field this year. Have a feeling that he will do some special things over his next four years here.
-
The second part I believe is correct and why he wasn't in the running. Blais recommended his Associate Head Coach, the guy he picked to be his second in command for multiple years.
-
Must have forgot to put my tinfoil hat on before I typed.
-
The part where he was the most qualified to take over and recommended by Blais? Or the part where they extended a top 5 coach in the nation?
-
Actual spot on analysis? This must be the kind of stuff we would get if people actually watched the game instead of sat up in the bar slamming beers and complaining about other's job status.

You know who was in charge of recruiting under Blais right?

Probably a fair question as well.

fire blais?

I'm sure he has a highlighted play by play showing where the refs were wrong.

Results on the field and court continue to show there isn't much of a difference between the two conferences. The Summit's rating this year is propped up by playing and losing to more top 100 teams than the Big Sky. A whopping 25% of RPI involves a teams winning percentage. Both conferences winning percentage against higher ranked teams show that there isn't much difference. And tutside of NDSU, the MVFC wasn't all that special. The Big Sky was top heavy as well. If only games were played on paper, it would have saved NDSU from getting embarrassed earlier this season from a team from the lowly Big Sky...
-
Or this I guess.... Average seed for the Summit the last 5 years: 13.6 Average seed for the Big Sky the last 5 years: 13.6 Average seed the Summit the last 10 years: 14.2 Average seed the Big Sky the last 10 years: 14.2

Really? I know dealing with actual facts gets in the way with your argument but the last 5 years disagree with you. 2013 - SDSU - 13 and Montana - 13 2012 - SDSU - 14 and Montana - 13 2011 - Oakland - 13 and UNC - 15 2010 - Oakland - 14 and Montana - 14 2009 - NDSU - 14 and Portland State - 13

Until the Summit gets more than 1 bid, it doesn't matter. Their rating is propped up from playing (and losing to) more higher ranked teams. The conferences winning percentage against top 100 teams is almost identical. The tournament committee obviously sees no difference between the leagues as the one team that makes it from the conference are always seeded exactly the same or within 1 seed.

Oops, miscounted. With the revision, UND wins 6 or 7 of their remaining 9 games. Jones still has a job next season regardless of their record in those games.
-
10 games left with 6 of them at home. UND went 4-0 at the Betty against the teams they have left to play on the road, with one of them being winless SUU. Going to go on a limb and say they take at least 7 of the remaining 10. Weber is a good team and showed it last night. Jones isn't going anywhere with 3 years left on his contract.
-
Well, no doubt which way these announcers lean.... Sounds likes quite the hostile crowd as well.
-
Huh...
-
Exposure-wise yes. But but fan/alumni support? Not so sure. They average over 50% fans more for hockey than they do for basketball.

After hearing Bubba and some of the guys on staff talk about UND football and what it means, it is not tough believe things are headed in the right direction.
