Huge comeback for the ladies tonight. Showed some serious character to come back after being down 18 at the half with Milwaukee starting off 10-11 on threes. Pull it if and win by 7. Huge second half by Loyd.

Last I heard (4-5 weeks ago) is that they were planning on having it enclosed by Christmas. I think the sides will go up very quickly and they only had one or two roof trusses to go last week. The roofing looked like it was moving at a pretty good pace. Not sure how much, if any, the early snow/cold weather/wind will slow them up.

They will select and new nickname and should. And as soon as possible in my opinion. They way this continues to drag out is causing more and more issues and is turning into a bigger joke than it has been for the last 5-10 years. It is giving one group (false) hope that Fighting Sioux may come back. It is letting other (falsely) think that no nickname is actually a long term option. UND has always been the University of North Dakota. When they had no nickname, when they were the Flickertails, when they were the Fighting Sioux, they were and have always been the University of North Dakota. That is the identity of the school and athletic programs, not a moniker, logo, mascot or whatever. With that being said, let's continue to give input as this is an important decision. Input from all stakeholders is needed to make sure it doesn't get completely botched and we end up with something that properly represents the University of North Dakota. This doesn't mean that we forget our history and remove every last remnant of who we were but by not moving on, we are purposely allowing this to cause more and more damage.

After a rough start, last night was a little bit better night for the Big Sky: EWU crushes Utah Valley (WAC) Sac St beats UC-Riverside (BW) in a nailbiter Montana State lost to Grand Canyon (WAC) Idaho (preseason #7/8 in the conference) knocks off South Dakota State (preseason #4 in the Summit) Overall OOC record currently sits at 5-13.

Actually saw that egriz is doing something similar. They were shooting for $100,000 for facilities and are about halfway there. Granted, some of it was going to be donated anyway, but it is impressive regardless. Link to their thread: Lets see if egrizzers can pledge $100,000 for our facilities

It was 3rd down when they went to spike it so they were only getting 1 shot on the field goal. Should have ran it down to 2-3 seconds left on the clock. Worked out in the end, learning for next time for Studsrud.

Outstanding game by the team yesterday. Nice way to close out the home schedule. Highlight video here, well worth the 3 minutes to watch it. Bubba has things going in the right direction.

So your solution is to bring the name back at the expense of the student-athletes? And I'm not sure what your point about pictures on the wall is? Anything with historical significance remains, including some new stuff from the renovations.

Could be worse, you could get the $25 to take them instead having to pay the $25.
-
I'd argue against the understandable and logical part, considering the whole settlement deal that kind of prevents it. And thousands of "good, god loving, productive members of society" voted to remove the name because it was in the best interest of the University and its student athletes.

Take a gander at the op-ed printed in the GF Herald today. Or for that matter, any Facebook post UND has on the nickname process. Hoping it's the definition of the vocal minority.

Offshore line puts it at roughly 24-17 NAU. Not sure we can get to 17 with what's left in the tank.

Agree to a point. You can't do what UND did last year and completely blow your OOC schedule and still think that you'll get a decent seed in the tournament if you win the conference auto-bid. On the other hand, with how RPI is calculated, playing a ton of high-RPI teams can actually inflate your RPI whether you win or lose the games. Even if you do that, you still need at least a few quality wins and on top of it, can't blow games against teams like the egg UND laid at SUU last year. The conference as a whole needs to improve their schedule and it creates a multiplier effect for all the teams.

Weekly 2 deep changes: None on offense Espinoza no longer listed as #2 at LDE, Greeley moves up from #3 Cummings replaces Hinojosa as #1 NG Dranka moves to #1 from #2 at RDE replacing Cummings (moved to NG), Espinoza takes Dranka's #2 spot, swapping from LDE Edmunds makes a returns to the depth chart as the #2 LCB replacing Blackmon (who's still listed as back-up FS) Seibel moves up to #1 KR from #2, Edmunds moves to #2 and Walker no longer listed On the defense, it looks like Hinojosa won't play causing some reshuffling on the line. Dranka will see the field more which will be good for him in the long-term.

Not at all the starting line-up I would have guessed. Looks like some of the new guys have promise or some of the players that were here previously weren't as good as we though. Going with the former until proven different. Beginning of a new season, glass half full type stuff. Did he mention whether any true freshman were playing this year or will they all be red-shirting?

Saw 2.99 in Grand Forks just a bit ago.

Conveniently leaving out that UND's game is also on Midcontinent which the majority of ND, large parts of SD and parts of western MN get or just ignorant and trying to troll?
-
Agree very much with you on this point.

NDSU to move to FBS with an invite from the Sun Belch?
jdub27 replied to SiouxVolley's topic in NCAA News
The city of Fargo already has a 2% of sales taxes with none that expire until 2028 plus another 1/2% from Cass County that doesn't expire until 2031. Their tax rate is currently at 7.5% (after the state's 5% tax) and would require a 60% "Yes" vote to add an additional sales tax. I don't see the general population voting to move what I believe is currently the tied for the highest tax rate in the state even higher. -
The only contract related to the televised games above is the FSN portion and yes, it has been signed for roughly a month, but the official list of games that were going to be televised hadn't been released yet nor was there a list put together of which away games would be televised. Sorry if they %gobc was unable to provide that information to people before the official release went out.

NDSU wants/needs a larger stadium. The city of Fargo does not. Big, big difference. The city of Fargo needs a more convention center space, not more seats in a stadium. -
