  1. Hooker and de Rouen are both playing banged up, could definitely tell watching them try to get up and down the court last night. Even if they were both at 120%, it wouldn't have made a difference, we didn't have the size or the defense to stop UM's inside game last night.
  2. If you think that all the people on this message board give to UND and the athletic department, you are kidding yourself. And there's a difference between giving input and commenting on how things should go vs. demanding that UND and/or the REA put huge investments into improvements when the money clearly isn't there or being allocated. Unless you have some untapped source to pay for these grand improvements (some of which I fully agree need to be done), then quit being offended when people make comments about spending other people's money, because that is where these big projects are going to come from. Any questions?
  3. Considering UND had a 65-61 victory over USD and held the Summit League's leading scoring without a field goal last November, I guess we're good?
  4. Doesn't really matter but Tyler seemed to be set on that one. Hope I'm wrong but I think it's going to start unraveling the last part of the half.
  5. Mo Walker dominating UND down low. Going to be a huge problem tonight. Don't think UND had an answer. 9 of UM's first 12.
  6. Total athletic department. 50th in the nation in 2013. Their football department had something like $31 million of revenues in 2013 attributed to it.
  7. Friday - Poolman Saturday - Mark Mac
  8. Iowa State has $62 million in Revenues. Tickets and Contributions total $26.5 million alone plus another $29.4 million in Rights/Licensing.
  9. Disregard this. The SMU thing seems to be bad information. %GOBC
  10. Well done by Q. On another note, Drake's arena looks a lot like the Betty could if they put in permanent seating on the ends instead of the portable bleachers. Understand that takes away from the multi-purpose use of it but just food for thought.
  11. Shocker.
  12. Well their football fans were throwing stuff at the refs yesterday so about par for the course all around.
  13. Thought he wouldn't be eligible until the first semester was over or the second one begins?
  14. Nice to have some kids already committed here this weekend. Hopefully they can help sway a few minds.
  15. Friday - Drake Saturday - Luke
  16. I still can't get over a 19.5% buyer's premium. That is just mind boggling.
  17. I thought Faison made the pick. That's why you had to dig deep and resort to reverse psychology isn't it?
  18. Maybe it wasn't the right place, maybe it was. I haven't heard what Bernardino's reasoning was fit asking it at that point in time but I'd assume part of that inflated salary is to be a clubhouse leader. Those things are relevant to that. Hunter has pretty much gotten a free pass from the local media in the past for those and other clubhouse issues (fights, airing teammates dirty laundry).
  19. I'm not quite so sure that's how the ticket revenues for UND athletics is handled. UND reported over $4 million in ticket revenues for 2013. If the REA was getting that and then giving UND a cut, UND wouldn't be able to report it like that. I believe that for UND events, they contract with the REA to handle that ticket sales, season tickets, etc. The money given to UND at the end of the year are proceeds from other events and concessions that the REA does outside of handling UND's tickets.
  20. And the Torii Hunter Era: Part Deux is off to a rousing start!
  21. You're actually incredibly close, I forgot that the Ticketmaster fees were that high and didn't take into account what the students pay. As sad as it is, I actually had a breakdown of the cost of regular season tickets. They vary depending on opponent, non-conference, Friday/Saturday, etc. Total retail cost before fees (not counting playoff series) this year would have been $845 for 22 games, averaging out to a little over $38/game.
  22. That'd be what it is if they sold them as season tickets. If they left them as single game tickets, you can roughly double it. No clue what their plan is either way. Edit: Actually looks like there is 412 seats in Section 310 (section from the students). $165,000 at $20/game (season tickets) or around double that if sold as single game tickets.
  23. It's going to effect athletic department budgets across the board. And it is money that has to come from somewhere. Which is why being realistic about coaches being fired and things of that nature is kind of important.
  24. It will be voted on by the membership and be allowable by all D-1 members when it passes. Title IX implications also apply so it must be done equally on the men's and women's side.
  25. So it isn't just "Its the Dance or nothing that matters."? Just curious, if Jones were to be fired, what kind of coach do you think they'd be able to get with the current budget the MBB has? And if your answer is to pay another coach more money, where exactly is that money going to come from? UND is going to be seeing a large jump in expenses the next few years with the new "full cost of attendance" rule that will be voted on and that money needs to come from somewhere as well.* *This is going to have a larger impact than people realize across the board. %GOBC insight on this one.
