  1. And I'm not arguing with that. What I'm questioning is whether you actually had the voting numbers. When you use a the word like "landslide" and "refer to this as an overwhelming victory", you are insinuating you do because you are referring to how the actual vote totals came out. It is now obvious you didn't. It was a poor choice of wording.
  2. Where did I say anything to the contrary? I'm asking about the vote total, which no one has seen but you claim was a landslide. I'm curious about where Zane finished and how close it actually was. Wondering if there was any splitting of the votes from the East coast teams. You could have said that something about him being the overwhelming favorite or there was little doubt that he would win but you referenced the actual vote total by stating he won in a landslide without being able to actually show it. Your article even has a link to "landslide". Maybe it was just a case of poor wording, but your article without a doubt infers that the vote total was heavily slanted to Eichel, which while very plausible, is something you apparently don't have the numbers to verify actually being true.
  3. As a %gobc, you should have known that the Champions Ball has been scheduled at the Alerus for a long time. That's where all the high rollers hang out right? UND wanted more room than they were able to get at the REA or Betty. The circus has nothing to do with it.
  4. So you put that it was a landslide in the article without actually seeing the numbers? No chance that the two eastern kids didn't split some votes and Zane made it a little bit closer? Seems like if you publish something like that, you'd be able to actually show it. I'm even saying that it isn't possible or likely, but if you don't actually know for a fact, then it is a poor choice of words.
  5. Wonder when that happened? Thought I saw him make a few nice plays on Saturday including a catch out of the backfield. He has definitely trimmed down. Wonder if he lost speed from the bulk he added?
  6. Not sure the capabilities of Memorial Stadium would handle it plus WDAZ doesn't hold the rights to UND sports, Midco is. I'd guess they could maybe figure something out if they really wanted to but it is going to be a 60 play scrimmage, not a full game as it has been in the past.
  7. Paging Goon....what's the deal on this?
  8. Let us know. Provide some concrete info for a change and maybe you'll get some credit.
  9. Glad to see they finally released something (using that very loosely) about Saturday. I know they are keeping it low key this year, but somewhat disappointed. I see that they aren't promoting tailgating per se, but the lots open at 8am. Draw your own conclusions I guess.
  10. Your sources telling you neither is coming? If so, odds on each one?
  11. Even cheaper since he won't be getting paid (or playing) the first three games of the season.
  12. Are you saying those will be the only two gone or just passing on what Tom said?
  13. Him walking away would also free up a lot of cap space. AP wants to play football and knows he's on the backside of his career.
  14. Any running back drafted will have a lot more tread left on the tires and have a much, much more cap friendly contract. No one actually knows what AP has left in the tank. That being said, if I'm the Vikings I try to get a respectable haul for him and if I can't, then I put him on the field and hope he still has a few good years left.
  15. The article said that Eichel won the Hobey Baker in a landslide. I hadn't seen or heard anything that reflected that. Very possible that its true, just curious where the information came from.
  16. Part of the issue is that the "cost" of scholarships for WH is skewed on the high side because of the amount of international and non-reciprocity players (9 and 3 respectively last season). That alone probably "added" $100K or so to the women's hockey budget. Not saying that other sports don't run into that as well but its much more disproportionate on the women's hockey team.
  17. Its been for sale for quite a while but that's about all I've heard.
  18. Where did you see the final vote tally for the Hobey Baker award? I haven't seen it released anywhere.
  19. I agree but it is wishful thinking regardless of circumstances unfortunately.
  20. New Glarus makes quite a few better beers than Spotted Cow. Get the sampler pack next time and you won't regret it.
  21. Done or paid for?
  22. And how exactly does that defend not providing equal opportunities? Congrats on that I guess but you still haven't explained the reason for the disparity in the number of opportunities provided. And not sure what facilities the softball team's are on par with but I have been told that those are towards the top of the priority list for some upgrades so not a big deal if true.
  23. You can't really believe this can you? Because its harder? Come on. Look at the levels that the P5 and G5 schools to do some of the things they do. You think a survey is really that big of a barrier for them to not squeeze a few more dollars out of non-revenue programs if they were able to? Title IX is about equal opportunity and equality within those opportunities. I won't argue one bit that NDSU provides the second part of the equation but the numbers clearly show they don't do the first, regardless of what some self monitored survey says.
  24. Quick question, how much money do you think NDSU is currently getting and will be able to get in the future from those people on the backlog for season tickets? Here's a helpful hint since UND has had a waiting list for hockey tickets for years: Not much.
  25. One of the major tenets of Title IX is opportunities and equality within those opportunities. Sure, the opportunities that are available may be on equal footing, but when the discrepancy between those numbers is so large, are there really equal opportunities? And the tired old argument about being able to point at some of the successes on the women's side and claim that means things are being done right is completely inaccurate. Title IX has nothing to do with success and everything to do with providing equal opportunities to be successful.
