  1. Welcome back, Bubba. If anyone can turn this program around, and has the heart to do it, it's you. I'm 100% behind you. I know that you'll recruit quality student-athletes that will represent our University well both on and off the field, and that winning will be a welcome byproduct of the character you and your student-athletes will bring to the program.
  2. Only a two and a half hour trip for me, and I'm hoping to bring several with me.
  3. It PROLONGS the fun (and the wasted work time).
  4. Wouldn't mind getting Bubba at all. His defenses while at UND are almost legendary, he got head coaching experience at UMD, and if you look at his bio on the SIU website, his defenses have ranked in the top three in the MVFC in several categories several times since he's been there. Plus, recruiting-wise, I'm sure he has many contacts in the ND/Minn./Wis. area from his UND/UMD days. I think he'd do a great job.
  5. As I said, "He probably won't even apply."
  6. Not saying it would be a disaster to hire him, I just think it would be best, especially considering the state of the program and the opportunity to get a totally fresh start, to do it without someone that has any kind of a shadow at all hanging over his head. JMO.
  7. Totally agree. We're getting a fresh start now and I don't think we want to hire someone with a cloud hanging over his past. My top 3: 1. Caruso. A proven motivator, winner, and turn-around coach. 2. Bollinger. Not as proven as Caruso, yet, but has the qualities that I think will translate into a Caruso success story going forward. 3. Lennon. He probably won't even apply, but I think he's a high-character guy that always managed to get the most out of his teams and put a winning product on the field.
  8. 71-62 Sioux. 2:36.
  9. Outscored 24-6 so far this half.
  10. Sorry I missed it, but did Schuler not play because of injury?
  11. UND rallies from 23-20 deficit to win 25-23.
  12. Thanks; wasn't aware of that.
  13. What new policy?
  14. Now they can be the cockiest 1-9 team.
  15. Hope to be there, too. Only a two and a half hour drive. Have to get there early, as I don't have a ticket yet.
  16. Without Kuksa, perhaps it won't be a true blue test of how far our D has come, but if they do well without him, it will really be encouraging. What a defensive stud he's going to be if he can recover completely from this injury.
  17. Actually, wouldn't mind seeing that happen. Would be tremendous publicity for our state and it wouldn't hurt recruiting for either team.
  18. Well............except that we'll obviously never know what might have happened had he stuck it out at UNC for his 5th year. Maybe something, maybe not. Plus, he did have the character to stick it out for 4 years there.
  19. Maybe he's not a quitter. Quitting isn't the answer to every adversity in life. I hope he sticks it out. He and Mollberg will make each other better over the years, no matter who ends up getting the lion's share of playing time. And you never know when your number might be called; e.g., you never know when the starter might suffer a game-ending/season-ending/career-ending injury or when the coach might decide to make a change. For example, Bradley quit last year after losing the competition for the starting job to Hansen. Had he not quit, he probably (unfortunately) would have been first in line to take over after Hansen broke his leg. Unfortunately for him and fortunately for us, he had quit and Hendrickson took over and did an outstanding job. To take it a step further, if Hendrickson had been a quitter and not had the character to stick it out for 4 (5?) years as a second/third stringer, he wouldn't have had the outstanding senior year that he had, either. But he stuck it out and was ready when opportunity presented itself. Sticking it out doesn't guarantee that you'll get the opportunity, but quitting guarantees that you'll never experience those kind of opportunities.
  20. Int. on the 1!!! Sioux ball.
  21. Speaking of scolding, what would you call your post?
  22. 27-24 Sioux. Hope it won't be this close, but will be happy either way if we get the win. Hopefully, another step forward for the defense and better ball security by the offense, leading to our best overall offensive game, considering Sac. State is better than Idaho St.
  23. Great news to see the FCS contract extended through 2016-17. Am wondering how long we're restricted by the NCHC from getting Sioux home hockey games back on FCS. Are we stuck for good, or does the current restriciton end at some point?
