  1. Valid points. However, Lucia did have a good record at CC and was a big factor in turning that program around. Until he wins an NC at UM with his own recruits, one could always question his ability as a coach. Again, although I am not a fan, I do think that he is a top notch college coach. You would think that a programs ability to produce NHL calibur players would lead to National Championships. I don't think anyone can dispute that UND is a great place to prepare a player for the next level. That success has basically required the coaches to plan for a much quicker turnover of players. KO's decision may just be indicative that a lot of top notch players don't care as much about doing what is needed for the team to win (playing a different position, ect) as making sure they are advancing their pro career chances. In today's game, it is extremely rare for players of the quality as Oshie, Chorney, Finley, and Duncan to come back for one reason - to win an NC. Let's hope they are rewarded for that level of commitment to the program and their teammates.
  2. I agree. Snow's comments were completely bush league and showed a total lack of class. While I am no big fan of Lucia, no one can doubt that the guy is a solid coach. He has won both WCHA and National Championships. Give me a coach who wins NC's over a coach who develops pro talent any day. I'm sorry, but IMO a player leaving his teammates in the middle of a season and pointing to the coach as a reason show a real lack of character. Minnesota gave KO the opportunity to play college hockey at the highest level. The kid should be greatful for his opportunity. His decision to move on could have been handled a lot better.
  3. I somewhat disagree. While I thought many of the Gophers looked solid against the Sioux I thought KO was their best player. He seemed to control play whenever he was on the ice. That said, I can't think of any legitimate reason to walk out on your teammates mid-year. IMO, that shows a lack of character regardless of the $$$ involved. As a college hockey fan who could care less about the NHL, the loss of another top notch player is nothing to cheer about. I do agree with you that you can't count UM out. They always seem to show up around the end of the year.
  4. Minnie Pearl was hot.
  5. DU ties it at 1-1. 9 minutes left in 1st.
  6. CC 1-0 on DU in the 1st. Mannino lets in a real weak goal.
  7. Nothing confirmed but I did see Triouxp walking down I-29 wearing a full set of goalie pads.
  8. Is the game over? What's the score? Man, with all the bitchin and moanin you would think someone would post some useful information.
  9. Any chance you can get a Moon pizza delivered to Colorado in time for Friday faceoff??

    UND/UNO

Thanks a ton Siouxdonyms for the updates. Felt like I was at the game. Great play by play recaps. Hopefully the hockey team can pull out a victory tonight.
  11. Always nice to see the WCHA win in non conference action. See where Turris had a goal. Did you see the game? How did the highly touted freshman look?
  12. Come on, of course Hak is going to say not to worry. The same way Jordan Parise and countless others say they are returning only to later sign pro deals. Hak has got to much class to bring his issues into the public forum. It is up to Buning to get the deal inked. The point of the thread concerned the lack in confidence of Buning to get the deal done, concern that is well placed. I have no doubt that Hak will sign a deal if a fair deal is put before him. I do have doubt over whether Buning is the guy to get it done. Why Rob Bollinger was not signed as AD still has me baffled. With Bollinger in charge, this thread would never have been started.
  13. Doesn't matter. Heck, put Triouxper on that line and keep DOT. Whoever fills in, Duncan and Oshie will dominate.

    chris kuper

He's still being reported on the injured list in the Colorado papers.
  15. You know the old saying, you can't spell dumb without DU. In all seriousness, I think DU is a solid academic school.
  16. We are missing the obvious........ a BLACK out. Now that would be cool..

    Loyalty

When it comes to accurate information I rely on the "source" over any number of other pretenders on this board. Who was it that first brought word of the agreement for many of the pro prospects to stay? Who confirmed Lennon was staying? Who broke the news that NDH was considering a one-way contract offer from the Hair Club for Men? If he says Duncan is staying for 4, book it. When the Source speaks, intelligent people listen.

    Oshie Watch?

    I think he did.

    Oshie Watch?

Miracle cure for baldness out of Poland introduced back during the Cold War. The "Source" used to import the stuff back in the early 80's. He'd use it on his own dome, refill the bottles with river water, and then resell it to desperate bald guys at a substantial mark up.

    Oshie Watch?

Oh it grows hair, it's just that most of it is in your ears and on your back. By the way, for those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting NDH, you surely know that he did not use the Helsinki Formula. Rather, he utilized the Cleansinki Formula. He woke up, combed his hair, and then cleaned the sinki.

    Oshie Watch?

Dam straight Source. A man's word is all that matters. That said, I do remember someone telling me once that he wasn't using The Helsinki Formula back when we were all losing our hair and then finding a hidden stash in the guys trunk. Funny how that guy is the only one sporting a full rack these days.
  22. Silly Whistler. Don't you know. Manilow + Manishevitz = ManiLOVE .
  23. Sorry, I thought JB was Jan Brady. That chick had one helluva slap shot but only a bunch of participation banners to show for it. My point is that I don't give a rats ass how many former Sioux players are studs in the NHL. Great programs win championships, they don't just produce great pros. One day way down the road, I'm betting that JT will regret that it was something he never accomplished. Hell, judging by the kids talent, it may be the only thing he won't be able to put an a Hall of Fame resume. Best of luck JT although I won't be watching you from here on in. I lose all interest in sports once paychecks and agents are involved.
