Totally agree. Great first period of hockey. I hope they put the three-four WCHA teams in seperate regions this year. I really think that UM/UND/SCSU and even WI/DU if they sneak in could advance to the FF.

That penalty on WI was WEAK. Even Woog couldn't believe what a weak call that was. As much as I'd love a Sioux-Gopher final, I just can't get myself to cheer for UM.

I agree we are in but I still can't understand a system where we throttle a top 3 team and move nowhere in the pairwise. I'd love to see the Sioux go to Denver but that would mean the Sioux and the Gophers in the same regional. With a possible match up tomorrow night and the fact they were in the same regional last year, I don't see that happening. I'm not smart enough to understand the pairwise. Do they reseed at the FF or do they determine who plays who when the Regionals are announced. I thought the regions are matched up when the field is selected and not readjusted based on the teams that advance.

They are all going to be tight games from here on in which makes March and April my favorite time for college hockey. SCSU will be tough. THe UM/UW game should be great. Badgers playing in a must win. Gophers need to show up and play hard in an otherwise meaningless game for them since they are almost assured of a #1 seed. Go Minnesota. I thought I read earlier that a team's pairwise could not be hurt by beathing a lower ranked team in the conference playoffs. A system where you lose ground by winning makes absolutely no sense.

What concerns me is that Mankato is bound to get chippy. Wouldn't doubt for a minute that they take a run at Lammy. Jutting is in his last season and Mankato has to win for any chance to get to the NCAA's. Also, our history lately with MSMU is to take the series to three games. I like the way we are playing now. I think the article was predicting regular season champs which also provide automatic bid. As long as the Sioux make the field, I don't care where they go or who they play. You gotta beat 'em all to be called Champs. Sure would be nice to move into third after this weekend. Crazy season. I think the Sioux could finish anywhere from third to sixth or seventh depending on this weekends games.

I was there as well and agree with all your comments. Too additional comments. First, Sioux have to win more faceoffs. We got killed in this area and it lead to the overtime winner. Second, dump the puck deep in the zone. I can remember a few times when the Sioux had a lazy dump in that resulted in odd man rushes the other way. Toews is amazing. The kid is ready for the NHL and this will sadly be his last season in a Sioux uniform. The whole DOT line was a blast to watch. Lammy was solid. Kozek was the best forward outside the DOT line. Let's get a W tonight.

All year long. In fact, just watched a 2 goal lead fade away during last four minutes against Mankato. Nothing is a lock in the WCHA. Sioux have three big series left, two against top 3 teams. They need to go 4-2 at least make it to the final five. Sioux are playing very well right now. However, tonights game proves that they can still have the kind of lapses that resulted in a piss poor first half of the season.

Just get in the field of 16 which is by no means assured at this point. If the Sioux want to hoist number 8, they are gonna have to beat all comers no matter what the seed. I don't care what our seed is or what region we go to. I just want to see the Green and White picked as on the 16 with the chance to win in all.
