  1. Like spend your valuable time posting on the SiouxSports.com message board? Shouldn't you be over at berts with WPoS' and Hammy getting ready to watch the Saturday afternoon movie on WE?
  2. I've been following Sioux hockey since they played in the old barn. Spiewak is one of my all time favorites. All three seniors were solid hockey players but more importantly quality kids. No cheap shots, no trash talk, just hustle and hard work. Those qualities will take them far in whatever it is they decide to do. Best of luck boys and thanks for the memories.

I know, but with Siouxrock every day is April Fool's Day.

    Siouxrock

I am going to clear up the Siouxrock mystery once and for all. I know Siouxrock. Close friend of mine. I was involved in helping him obtain his US visa. He's a 6'9" 15 year old from somewhere in Latvia. (reason for his troubles with the english language). Transferred to RR to late to play this year. He is currently the number one rated draft prospect in the NHL. LaBron's got nothing on this kid. His slapshot has been measured at over 140MPH. In the Latvian top senior league he scored 169 goals and had 245 assists in a 80 game season. Rumor has it he will test NHL regs and turn pro. Blais has offered him full ride and the kid could play for UND next year since he has already graduated HS, finished college and is in his second year of med school. All this and he still has time to pull a regular shift at Perkins. He's currently dating Anna Kounikova and would have been one of the finalists on American Idol but for his junivile record. Seems he beat up an entire fleet of Russian sailors during some bar fight when he was 10. His name is Vladimir Finch. Sidd's kid.
  5. I agree with lakota as well. The loss of Hale can't be discounted. He is a real leader that provided the "mental toughness" the Sioux lacked down the stretch. Not saying that with Hale healthy all year the Sioux would be playing this weekend but they would have been a much better team the second half. I hope he stays his senior year. Rumor here in Colo Springs is that Senja is going to leave early. I'll suspect we'll know right after they award him the Hobey.
  6. Are scholorships decided on a year by year basis? I would assume the new recruits are all getting full boats. Sounds like Deano may have some personnel decisions to make next year. Also, can you yank a guys scholorship after school has started? Seems to me that you won't be able to make those decisions until after practices have begun.
  7. That's what I thought. Thanks. Any idea on how many scholorships the Sioux have to offer for the team?
  8. What's the rule on how many you can dress for a game. Is it 20? Is it the same for road and away games?
  9. Thanks Bert. You summed up the course beautifully. You must have got an A. And it really works, you've really gotten under my skin. I can tell, it's starting to smell like stale nachos and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
  10. Aren't you late for your Mensa meeting?
  11. How exactly do you use the word "suck" accurately? Do they teach that at a U of M grad level class - Advanced Techniques in Being a Loud Mouth Obnoxious Hockey Fan - 4 credits, taught by Professor Woog? I heard that most of the "tutors" for the Rodent's BB team take the class.
  12. Great perspective NorthDakotaHockey. Can't wait to get together with you in GF for some games next year. Our classic lever hockey battles of yester year set the tone for our life long dedication to the Fighting Sioux. And you always let me be the Sioux. What a guy. Get your clubs polished. See you in June. Stay well.

Geez, the trips down memory lane. Sioux fans and Gopher fans getting along. I'm starting to tear up here. Nice work forecheck. Maybe you can arrange tea for GW and Saddam and get them to patch up their differences.
  14. Check the stats. Both Rodent goalies are under .900 save percentage and neither looked strong in the Regional. I don't care how good their D is I get 10 shots on goal and one of them is going in. In the Frozen Four you need your goalie to step up and play big. Gophs have the offense to play with anyone but I don't see them winning any 1-0 or 2-1 games this weekend.
  15. WoPS, Go see the movie Anger Management this Saturday. You shouldn't have anything better to do unless you want to watch Cornell - Michigan.
  16. Michigan looked good today vs. CC. Real test for MI (or MN) for that matter is can they win one away from the friendly confines. I don't care what anyone says, playing at home or on a familiar rink has its advantages. Logic has it that there should be more east coast fans than WCHA or CCHA fans. Mark of a true champ is to win in a hostile environment. I'll take MN if they get past MI. I haven't been that impressed with MN goaltending. MI has the best chance to put some shots on goal.

5-3 Michigan. Final. Must be nice to be a number 3 seed and play at home.

    Go CC

2-2 after one. I live in Colorado Springs so we have the game here. Not sure in GF. CC on the power play to start the second and that is how they scored their first two goals. Huge MI crowd. Hopefully CC won't experience the same thing the Sioux did in '98.

WoPS, Funny how you keep referring to Sioux fans as thin skinned yet continue to take offense to anything anti Rodent. Your team won. Shouldn't you be down at Wal-Mart waiting in line to purchase one of Woog's Three Peat t-shirts? "High priced Vegas style hole in the ground paid for by some biggoted Vegas smuck". First of all, it's never classy to diss a guy who's dead. Second, check your facts. You judge a man by one mistake that he paid for. The guy did a tremedous amount to help those less fortunate, he just didn't feel the need to blow his own horn. Read something other than the sports, the comics and the K-Mart sale flyer. Show some class and enjoy living in the present. Long dry spell between 1979 and 2002. As for us Sioux fans - - we'll wait until next year when 11,000+ of us pile into that big whole in the ground each weekend because we have nothing better to do than watch hockey played by the best program in the country. Go CC.
