There are a couple of nice places right out by the World Arena. Doubletree is right down the street (719) 576-8900, I think it is where the team usually stays but can't be sure. There is a real nice hotel downtown Colorado Springs called the Antlers Hilton (719) 955-5600. If your looking for a better deal on price, there is a fairly decent EconLodge right down by the campus that is close to downtown (719) 636-3385. Downtown is best if you want something central, lots of restaurants and bars but not a whole lot of shopping. World Arena is just a hop south on the 25 and the Air Force Academy is north. Of course, if money is no object, there is always the Broadmoor. That's where NDH always stays with his ladies.

I'm about 5 miles from World Arena and will be there in my hostile and abusive best. May have a few extra tickets now that NDH pulled the plug. The guy finds himself a women and his priorities are now all out of whack. Claims his funds are tight now that he is saving to buy the big rock he has on layaway. 400 more payments and he makes an honest man of himself. Sioux take two this weekend and start the climb back up the standings.

All of you who are speculating that Hirsh was kicked off because his attitude fail to realize that his medical condition is well documented. You also assume that the U of M or Lucia would have enough class to give the kid the support he needs for his medical condition rather than have the equipment manager clean out his locker. Again, since Lucia is remaining silent, I really hope that the U is standing behind Hirsh and making sure he gets the help he needs. Those blaming Hirsh and those saying that Hirsh had been given enough chances obviously have no experience with mental illness. You are entitled to you opinion. In this case, it's just wrong.
-
Hirsh's situation is no different that a player with a serious physical injury. Mental illness is a very serious issue. I hope the U of M and tDon are standing behind Tyler and offering him the assistance he needs. If not, then shame on them.

AZ Sioux, I always love your start to game threads. All the information I need right at my fingertips. Seriously, thank you and GO SIOUX.

Sioux collars for my hounds. Could probably use one for the Mrs. if she gets out of line.

Best post of the year.

That's what I'm talking about. Visions of sugar plums baby, visions of sugar plums!!!!!!!!!

Knowsall knows all. You are dead on my Sioux fan brother. Booing the boys in green is NEVER acceptable, period. In fact, I propose it as a new Man/HockeyMom Law. Who's with me? Let's put a lid on all the negative karma now. The turnaround starts with a good old fashioned butt kicking of Dartmouth. The bus is warming up. Come on NDH, tell us who's driving it to St. Louie.

Sorry, but if a kid wants to leave because the coach pulled him in one game then don't let the door kick you in the ass. I don't think people give Grieco enough credit. He's a big boy. The coaches obviously saw something that made them make the decision to pull him. A good athlete will accept a coaches decision like a man and come back the next time stronger than before. Grieco will be fine. I agree, things look ugly right now but we are only halfway through the WCHA season. Plenty of time left to get on a roll.
-
Killing Grieco's confidence? I would hope that the kid is strong enough to be able to overcome the trauma of getting removed from a game. Pulling Grieco had nothing to do with last night's loss.
-
Yeah, that's what my cousin's sister's friend told me in gym class.

Four words. Rob Bie Bin A.

Big loss. This kid is going to be an impact player at some point in his college career.

So true. All the "he sucks" comments and BS about these guys not having the talent to play are laughable. Being frustrated on how the season is going is understandable, personally ripping players is bush league. However, as a perk to all you die hard program supporters, I have set up a meet and greet with big Joe where you can all personally tell him how you feel, face to face. I booked a small room as I don't expect many attendees.

Right on Hockey Mom. This time of year always seems to bring out the ledge jumpers and the experts who know what's wrong, how to fix it, who to bench, who sucks, who should be fired, and on and on and on. . . All you naysayers, go pour yourself a cup of eggnog, up your medication, and come back in March to watch the boys in green go for number 8.
-
I totally agree. We arguably have talent and good coaching. What is missing is leadership and chemistry. The one bright spot is that Hak has a way of bringing the team together the second half of the year. What is frustrating is that the Sioux do not consistently play with the intensity they did in the 3rd. If they did, this would not be a .500 hockey team. Stating the obvious, a loss tonight would not be good.
-
Ahh, that's what a goalie needs to do. You now, I learn something new every day. What's the best way to prevent a 3 on 1??
-
Lammy had to play the 3rd goal knowing that Dowell had two other guys to pass too. It was a nice shot. The problem was more the fact that Dowell went end to end and wound up with a three on one. How does that happen?? This is simply not a good defensive hockey team right now.
-
Goaltending is not the major problem. Our defense is simply terrible. Giving up a 3-1 and then Lee just being plain lazy on clearing the puck. Goals 3 and 4 cannot be blamed on the goalie. Wisconsin getting 4 goals by the end of the second. They rarely score that many in a weekend series. Sorry effort so far. Let's see what they can do in the 3rd.

This group has been in Colorado many times. They want nothing more than for people to start a riot. It gets them publicity and they end up suing, its how they continue to fund their operation. I know it's hard, but the best thing to do is to simply ignor these a-holes. Nothing pisses them off more. Focus your thoughts and prayers with the family and don't give these idiots the satisfaction of knowing they got a reaction.

Porter is also one of the best skaters I have ever seen wear a Sioux uniform.
-
Ditto, that was awesome.

Lives to Be 6 lost all credability with me when he rips Smaby. If he/she actually watched ANY Sioux hockey over the past few years he/she would realize what a force that guy was. He brought a physical presence that is missing so far this year. And please don't respond with the one bad play against BC in the Frozen Four. I have no problem with opinions posted on this board, only the stupid ones.
