  1. Too bad. Great effort by NDSU. They did ND proud.
  2. Minnesota's 30??? that's FG range. WOW
  3. Gotta love Mason's confidence in his O line.
  4. A Gopher loss, no matter the sport, is ALWAYS a good thing. Go NORTH DAKOTA state.
  5. My Carnak prediction. Sioux net a shorty this weekend.
  6. Keep the updates coming. No radio fee here. Maine was potent on the PP against the Beavers.
  7. Whose in nets for the Dogs, Ziggy or the Freshman? Also, is Skille playing for the Red Menace?
  8. A sweep for the Sioux would be HUGE but I am not expecting it. Maine is a top notch program and my favorite program after our beloved Fighting Sioux. We met some really great Maine fans in Columbus. I hope they make this a more frequent meeting between the two programs. Wish we would be getting these games on TV here in CO. Those of you lucky enough to be in GF this weekend should be treated to some great college hockey. Enjoy.
  9. In TOD we Trust.
  10. Couldn't have said it better myself. I have to laugh at all those calling for Freund. Belmore made enough plays to get the W against a tough NCC opponent on the road. If fact, he has won a number of HUGE games in his career. Give me a senior with experience over a green horn anyday. Sioux will be fine with Belmore at the helm until Manke is ready to return.
  11. Now that's some good smack. Who gives a rats about ranking of recruiting classes. Let's see how it translates into W's. Let's not forget the importance that coaching will have in developing all the paper talent of these kids. Me, I have much more confidence in Hakstol and crew that I would in Coach Hairdo.
  12. Congrats Phil and thanks for the memories.
  13. You must not read much.
  14. Kermit just rolled over in his shoebox.
  15. A million to one?? Come on people. These are the flippin Gophers. I say SU slips one five hole on Hauser and Bison win in OT.
  16. Only one logical place for Commie to show off the Cup in the Forks. The Italian Moon. Best Sioux gathering place in town.
  17. I loved that guy. One of my favorites as a kid growing up. All the best to his family.
  18. Buy plastics!
  19. No question, Kessel was a stud last year and is a top level college hockey player. However, if he returns to U of M next year, it will have nothing to do with his love of Gopher hockey and everything to do with the fact that the powers in Boston decide that his game is not ready for the next level. Also, my guess is that he would rather continue to be Big Fish in Gopher land than just another puke riding buses between AHL ports.
  20. Not that it matters but Toews is listed as the 6th Center on the depth chart. I think Bochenski is 4th on his wing.
  21. Good. I wanted to see him play college for a year.

    Jordan Parise

Taking a year on Oshie and Lee is what concerns me.

Best of luck JP and thanks for three great years. You did deserve at least one NC. Thank God we are signing all of those Alaska players. No doubt they will be around for four years. Other than Toews, I think the bleeding may have stopped. What say you Sioux insiders? Oshie, Lee, Chorney, Finley . . . . . are the rest safe from the evil clutches of the NothingbutsiouxHockeyplayersLeague?

    Jordan Parise

Some thought he would never be good enough to play for a D1 powerhouse like the Sioux and he was one goal away from leading them to three straight Frozen Fours. Turned out to be just as good a college player as his brother. Numbers wise, there are not many college goalies that have had better careers, especially considering that he played in the best college league in the country over the last three years. Don't count Parise out. If a pro team is going to sign him someone a helluva lot smarter than you or I thinks he has what it takes to one day play at the NHL level. Last I checked, the powers that be weren't just giving out NHL contracts to any kid off the street. If they were, I'm pretty sure NorthDakotaHockey would have had an offer by now.

I, for one, never blamed Parise for the loss or never advocated for Lammy to take over in net. I have been a huge Parise fan over the last three years. That doesn't change my opinion that winning championships is what seperates the legends from the studs. Parise had great numbers, was a tremendous leader, and gave the Sioux three great chances to win the big one. He played solid in the 04 and 05 losses to DU but let in a number of weak goals in the loss to BC. It's too bad that is likely his last game in Green and White. If he signed with NJ, best of luck to him. I'd love to see him beat the odds and be a regular in the NHL. While I could give a rats ass about pro hockey, the brass in NJ is doing a real good job of making me into a Devils fan. As for Toews, he needs another year somewhere other than the NHL to be physically ready. He got knocked on his ass way to often to play at that level right now. The question is whether that somewhere else will be the AHL or the WCHL.
