  1. I hate to say it, but our guys need to start flopping because it seems like that is the only way these are called. Flop take a peek at ref and if not called, limp off ice. Come back next shift score a goal. That is the recipe that gets these calls. I hate it, but these refs only respond to someone flailing on the ice.
  2. I agree that there is a lack of leadership that we see. From what I hear, Ausmus is a great captain. This team doesn't have the workers that the team has had the last few years. There isn't anyone who brings the lunch pail night in and night out like Stecher and Cags last year. So the coach has to rely on C to help set tone.
  3. If you have Midcontinent it is on the sports tier
  4. Tonight is going to tell us a lot about this years team. If they come out and dominate, I can see some good things from here on out. If they come out and play like they did in the 2nd half of last nights game, this could be an embarrassing year in that they won't make the regional that they are hosting.
  5. Especially since he is more worried about bringing in his recruits from WMU than anywhere else. 6 flips last night alone. Memo to Fleck, this isn't the MAC he is part of, it is the Pig 10. I hope he keeps going after the mac and cheese while ND schools go after the blue chip players.
  6. So what are you going to watch? UND Hockey or UND Football?
  7. I don't know how far apart the above ground shut off valves have to be but they are out there. Ask those two women who tried to turn off the one in Minnesota.
  8. Who one here actually has connections to this protest? Do you live in Morton County? Do you have friends who have been threatened by these rioters? I am just trying to get a sense of who is actually talking here. As many of you know, I actually live in Mandan. I have taken detours to get to work because of this protest that was taken over by the eco terrorists from everywhere but North Dakota. I live less than 300 feet from a train yard here in Mandan that the oil trains pass through every day. My family has the pipeline going through their land and didn't blink twice about signing to have it go through. Why? Because the pipeline that feeds the Tesoro refinery was built on this exact land back in the 70's. There has never been a leak in all the years it has been there. Pipeline is the safest way to get ND oil to market, It means that we as North Dakota residents will see more money per barrel than we do now. Plus it means that I will have fewer oil train cars passing my house. On a separate note, 2 weeks ago I was spit on by a Native American because I was wearing my UND Sioux sweatshirt. He said to me, you know nothing about being Sioux, then spit on me. He was right, I do know nothing about being a Native American, but I didn't do anything to them and neither did my family. This whole protest is going to affect native relations in this part of ND for years to come. So back to my original question, who on here actually has connections to this protest?
  9. Minneapolis is a Viking Town first. My Twitter handle is NDSIOUXVIKING, so can you see where I will be ok with a 3:30-4 PM start.
  10. Problem is, Sunday games tend to be afternoon games.
  11. Another possible issue, Vikings play Detroit at noon on Sunday in Minneapolis
  12. And the Vikings are also home on the 6th. And they wonder why their attendance is down in Minneapolis. What a joke that program is.
  13. And Anderson is waiting to see what the equipment manager is doing, so I guess he may just stick it to us.
  14. Me being a western ND guy can attest to UND hockey being on the rise. My ex boss is a wannabe fan, he thinks because he sits in the suites with some other rich guys that makes him a super fan, but he knows nothing about UND hockey other than get me another drink. Back on point, I saw numerous fans at the Frozen Faceoff from Bismarck. I have worked with quite a few clients who travel all over the place to see them. So yes, hockey is on the rise.
  15. I got my 100 in yesterday, will do so today too
  16. I had said this exact fact earlier. Don't think for one minute that Stetcher and him had a talk about how awesome it was to be a free agent in every sense. Maybe Paul wants to test the market like the pick from Nashville is choosing to do?
  17. Have you seen our twitter conversation about Porter? He has an obsession for knocking him. It is ridiculous. I did catch his BC comment and just about fell out of my char laughing. Pat and I are on talking terms, but this thing he has against Porter is not showing him in a good light. I would like nothing more than for Porter to score a goal to shut him up. He has given UND plenty of props during the season partly because he worked a few of his games. Yesterday he accused me of having green tinted glasses, which I replied that I feel some of his hatred is based on his maroon hate for green. He then shut up until today. Then he stated the Parise argument. If a GM brings in a player because of friendship of players only, that is career suicide.
  18. Someone please give me a hand here. I have been having a twitter chat with Pat Micheletti. He has been all over me about supporting Chris Porter being in the lineup. Am I missing something with him being in the lineup? Seems to me he is a good support player, but Pat seems to think the only reason he is on the roster is because he is best of friends with Parise. Again, am I missing something here?
  19. I had that thought today too. Imagine Ladue going the route of a Stetcher who was undrafted. If he doesn't sign this year, he has a chance to hold all the cards in his hand. Who wants to go the pro route and be stuck in the AHL? If he stays his senior year, he can either sign with Kings next year or not. He would control his own destiny. Stetcher had to sign this year because he was at probably the highest point of contract, that isn't Ladue's case. This could be interesting.
  20. This isn't even a question, will be fun when the state of ND has 2 teams that are perennial powers.
  21. I guess I should make a few clarification to this post. First and foremost, I am not a UND Grad. I am a North Dakotan born and raised. I have friends who are alum from NDSU and UND. I can understand that they could have hatred for the other based on loyalties. For the life of me I don't see how there is even a comparison between the 2. But for one school student to tell the other school that their fan base is an embarrassment is funny. I know of fans that were in Tampa Bay that were also in Frisco? IMO it is schools like NDSU with their f the Sioux chants that put UND in the place it was anyway. I don't know all the derogatory chants between both schools and don't care to know them. If you can chant things like that and think it is normal, look at yourself in the mirror and you will see the problem. Parts of the fan chants that I love are the full strength chants and beer song.
  22. So when does a UND fan bring up the fact that when UND wins a Natty, it is against the big boys, not the second tier of the D1? Yes it is impressive NDSU won 5 titles in a row, but it is not an all inclusive tourney for D1? So it is comparing apples and oranges. Granted UND has not won 5 in a row, but NDSU hasn't played a Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Boston College, I think you get the point, in a tournament either.
