Looks like the usual pedestrian crowd at the X for the N. Star cup. Don't know if I cheer for SCSU or Mankato. Just filling time till senior bowl.

I hope that they can fix that angle too. That is horrendous that a team deems that acceptable.

That review was a joke. TH said that it was at least 8 minutes. If that was a goal, that is the arena managements fault because the overhead camera was not at the right angle. Hopefully they fix that for tomorrow nights game. I am looking forward to having Pat Micheletti as the analyst tomorrow night on ASN . I hope he leaves his Maroon and Gold glasses at home and calls a great game. I really respect him for what he does for the Wild and beyond the pond on KFAN. Anyone have any inside info on Gaardner? I don't think that Jack will get the number 1 pbp position. He is to 80's. Love what he does on kfan fargo, but just not my favorite. If this new ownership group wanted him as the voice, they would have moved him over to the big brother KFGO. This is all IF Scott Miller isn't back, My oh My

Here is my take on what is happening with Hammer. I would hope that a real ND not UND sports fan knows about the health issues that Scott Miller has. I think Hammer was given an opportunity to be the voice of NDSU and he will take over for Miller. If you listened to the end of the NDSU FB radio broadcast, Miller said something to the point of thanks for the great year and we will see what next year brings. I hope I am wrong in this, but I think Miller may NEED to step down because of health reasons. Hietkamp just got Hammer for that reason. This may be off in left field, but this is my opinion.

The alumni director was lauding all the SCSU teams during the 3rd period of the game on TV. She talked about how the recruiting was so great. I didn't realize that SCSU hockey recruits the swim team for divers too. That penalty against Cagguila was a dive if I ever way one. On a serious note, I am impressed by the Friday night win at SCSU. This team is playing good right now. I hope they can keep it up.

I actually agree with parts of this. I do not believe that it should just be UND ties. I am a ND resident, pay my taxes to support UND and for that matter every state run school. I believe that if you are not a ND resident, you should not be able to vote on this. Yet is this realistic, no. I now get off my Bully pulpit.

I have no problem with Roughriders, but if it is Cavalry, I wouldn't mind putting that name and the connotation of it to the people of the NCAA and other my little pony strawberry shortcake lovers.

That is the first person that came to mind for me. I know goon is a good guy, but he isn't a member of media.

Did I see Dom Izzo post something about non media bloggers and contact with athletes? Does UND have a possible problem with some bloggers that are not proper members of the media attending press conferences? I would hate for there to be some penalties because of this.

Let me get this straight, the Native Americans are complaining about North Dakota. Well, here is my answer, go to South Dakota and complain. Isn't that what they told the people in ND when we went to them for a vote of the people? If it isn't this, they will complain about the green wave because it has no native connotation. I am sick and tired of them wanting a seat at the table when they got their way in the first place.

Unfortunately there are folks who want to "stick it to the man", whether it be the NCAA or for those misinformed the Sioux people. At some point, you take responsibility for your actions or IN ACTION. The NA population had a chance, they passed, now it is time for UND to do what is best for itself. If the name is not ND, then so be it. Am I not going to wear my fighting sioux gear because thier name changed, heck no. It is the history of the school. But the NA population needs to understand that if it is Cavalry, there is a history of that in ND too. That isn't sticking it to them. My parents have a house that is less than 1 mile from Fort Lincoln state park. Custer lived there and Mandan is proud of that history. If UND takes that name, great, it honors its history.

This is just a game in the big picture of things. It is not an activity where peoples lives are going to change upon the announcement of the new name. There isn't going to be people losing jobs that support families. There isn't going to be a choice of do I eat today or pay this bill. I agree that some people have an obsession with all things UND and that obsession for some is bordering on unhealthy. In the end, life goes on.

You hit it right on the head about the recruits and returning players. Why even go thru this if you know that a former NHL player/coach who was your #1 recruiter is the guy you want. Now you can focus on the program having continuity and not having a speed bump along the way. As far as the kiss butt media in GF, don't get me going on this.

We may see some movement on Schmaltz front soon. Hitchcock signed a 1 year extension today. Lets Jordon know what some of the organizational thinking is.

That is my exact thought, its about more than the people of GF. This is a state school and that means ND, not western MN imo.
