Schools that heavily recruit Western Canada already will get the top WHL kids who want to play college hockey. UND has a very strong foothold up there. Kids up there generally don’t know a ton about college hockey, but they know UND. This also increases the pool of Manitoba (and Sask) players available to recruit, which is huge for UND recruiting due to proximity.

I’ve been following the PWR all season so far strictly to track its volatility. We started at #40 after beating Providence and moved up 37 spots after beating Mankato lol.

I’ve had this problem with them for years.

It’s not that they are getting no NIL, it’s my understanding that they are pretty restricted in what NIL deals they can take. Like they can earn $$ on their jersey/merch sales.

What concerns me about Zmolek is originally it seemed like he was close to playing in the Mankato series, but then a little bit later Berry started talking about additional testing they are doing to determine how long he will be out, which was weeks ago. If they don’t know what is wrong by now, that’s super concerning.

Other teams do in fact have this problem. Their fans just have a lot more patience.

Schlossman talked about this on the UND hockey podcast today. Sounds like we will plan to carry 9. I don’t think anyone will be pushed out, though someone could opt to leave as a result. We have had a lot of injuries on D the last couple years, so it might be smart to move to 9 D.

BU has a stats blog and they posted all about their xG stats and I laughed based on everyone here who hates that stat

Same. And it is still not officially announced either. It’s basically old news to all of us at this point.

It was reported over the weekend on Twitter/X from a guy with The Hockey News so it’s making the rounds to non-UND people.

Cornell is the heaviest team in the country by average weight, but UND is the third heaviest, so not much difference in that aspect. Just have to find a way to sustain more offensive zone time and get more pucks to the net. I’m heading to NY for this series. I’m excited- never been!
