  1. I don’t lol. Some fans are more willing to pay these high prices but I’m not one of them. Most single game tickets at REA average around $40-50.
  2. Yup, $399 is the cost of 1 ticket. Also heard the face value of a ticket to this game from the box office was pretty spendy.
  3. When it was in presale you could see what was available and there was basically nothing a couple weeks ago. I actually thought resale prices dropped. There’s some in the $200s now. Originally cheapest when I first looked was $399.
  4. Mini recruiting update on the UND Hockey podcast. 1. Berchild - Schlossman doesn’t think he ends up at UND. Minnesota, Wisconsin and Denver were the schools mentioned. So I have noted not to hold my breath on this one. 2. Beuker - sounds like he’s narrowed down to 4-5 schools. UND is believed to be one of them. 3. Zajic - hasn’t heard anything either way on whether or not UND is in on him or not. They could be, but his contacts haven’t mentioned anything. (Personally I’m thinking Big10. Chicago kids seem to favor that league)
  5. Minnesota colleges start later than UND/NDSU. They start at some point after Labor Day. Don’t remember if it’s immediately after or not.
  6. I think they made an effort last summer to get more guys with some size because it was pretty obvious in the 2022-23 season that our smaller defensemen in particular were getting pushed around.
  7. I’m actually convinced that Michigan State is basically recruiting everyone.
  8. I thought it was the team that drafted him that just decided not to sign him. That’s the internet chatter anyway. I saw something on Twitter/X this morning about that. Also saw somewhere that Motzko was aware of the situation, the kid graduated and wasn’t enrolled in summer classes, so you’d think he would have found a replacement a while ago, but who knows the thought process there. If not that’s just poor communication with players.
  9. I think their goaltending is a bit of a question mark.
  10. I don’t think Schlossman always knows who UND is recruiting beforehand unless it’s like a no brainer recruit. He knows when recruits commit, but I don’t think he always knows all the targets. Or he’s just not sharing what he knows. On his last podcast that discussed recruiting there was little insight on specific UND recruiting targets.
  11. I am thinking Eli McKamey might also be one.
  12. Berchild is the only big name I’ve heard about that we REALLY want. Additionally over half of Schlossman’s “List” is committed to schools now. There’s 14 guys left. And several of those names seem likely for other schools. Im guessing we are also interested in some guys not on the List.
  13. The Five Nations tournament coming up will probably have more uncommitted players to watch. That’s the one Cole Bumgarner is playing in.
  14. Just my opinion but based on the current roster of defensemen and their years in school, as well as the current recruiting pipeline, I’m not sure defensemen are a high priority for UND with this class. I’m sure we’ll get a defenseman in this class, but I see forwards being more of a priority.
  15. I’m pretty sure that account on X is actually just the Dad’s account.
  16. By all accounts McKamey hasn’t decided yet about playing NCAA. Read an article on him from May. Sounds like a decision from him won’t happen until after this coming season unless something has changed.
  17. It’s been highly speculated for a while that he was going to end up at BU, so not super surprising. His brother was supposed to go to BU before deciding to play in the Q.
  18. McGroarty isn’t really a great example. He was born in Lincoln, as his dad used to coach the Lincoln Stars, but he basically grew up and played all his organized hockey in Michigan.
  19. We haven’t realistically had much luck recruiting kids from Ontario in general at least in recent years. We will still try to recruit them, but I don’t even flinch when they commit elsewhere. Like I think I can count on one hand the number of guys from Ontario on the team in the last few years. Michigan has the benefit of proximity. And a lot of Ontario kids are probably wanting more of a big school/big city. 40% of Canada’s population lives in Ontario, it’s much more urban than Western Canada. If we are going to get any “blue chips” they’ll be from Western Canada or the US.
  20. Saw this on Twitter/X. Not sure on the level of interest, but could be a couple names to watch when the new recruiting cycle opens.
  21. This year was also his third year of draft eligibility. So this was the third time he’s been passed over. It was a long shot for sure.
  22. I had always assumed it’s usually at some point after the NHL Draft, so this tracks.
  23. I saw rumors online that it was in the six figures. But nothing confirmed.
  24. I’d argue the logical choice is OMac, not Berg.
  25. I just don’t see much, if any recruiting value. The U18 team is nearly all committed to schools by the time we typically play them. Most are committed prior to, or near the start of joining the U17 team.
