i heard back in october he MIGHT have an opportunity to join the team around Christmas. So I think this process started before the struggles of the team began. But that was just joining the team, not being eligible to play. That said, anyone who thinks they reinstated him because of Zajac and Genoway being out is overanalyzing the situation a bit too much IMO. Matt being able to come back was really in Matt's hands and if the coaching staff feel this is the right move for the team, I'm all for it.

I don't think Phaneuf has had a particularly great season, not discounting the past though... and who do you take off Canada's blue line and put him on? Most of what I've heard from the Canadian media and fans the past few months didn't feel he should be on the team either. Phaneuf isn't even the call up if one of the 7 doesn't go because of injuries or something, from what I heard Bouwmeester is next in line should one of the d-men get injured before the Games. And if I'm Canada, you can't leave off Niedermayer, Pronger, Weber, Keith, and Seabrook. Boyle and Doughty may have been surprises though IMO.

Well, they are bringing the whole team to Chicago so it just doesn't seem right to leave the poor guy at home!

From what I understand, the US World Junior team's final roster won't be determined until after an exhibition game against the Czech Republic I think. Or else it won't be decided until right before that exhibition game. Either way, no final roster has been set.

PAY ATTENTION! The Sioux are #3 by DEFAULT. Those that could move ahead, have not been winning at all cost either. We had a good start to the season when no one else around us did. We struggled after losing Chay, which is why we sit in 6th. We stayed at #3 nationally by DEFAULT. Our out of conference record is 3-0-1. Does the Cornell lovefest miss you yet? Aren't you guys supposed to be knowledgeable about these things?

My gut has been working this weekend...I'll take Gregoire FTW tonight!

i watched the michigan/air force game from regionals last year on justintv... i might have also watched the bemidji/cornell game from regionals on there as well... it wasn't too bad.

Just a small clarification...at Tech we wore the black ones on SATURDAY. But I'm guessing you might have meant the last time we wore them during a weekend series and not that we wore them both games. I'm guessing if we wear them at all it would be a Saturday game. That tends to be how it goes.

They ALWAYS bring both the greens and the blacks. They did a "behind the scenes" episode of BMT last year where they talked about that kind of thing. I think one comment was made where one time they didn't bring the blacks and Hak wanted to wear them so they had to get them flown in or something like that. It is on a "gut" feeling...

In Duluth's game notes for this weekend, it said the games were available on Comcast cable in the Cities. If anyone knows anything about this as far as channels and such... please post. It could be misinformation for all I know, but it'd be great to be able to watch the game as live webcasts just don't work on my computer for some reason...
