The first sentence was sarcasm. I actually thought he would be back. And I don't really care either way. I like our team. I'll take our chances.
-
I thought overall it wasn't so much the play of their D that contributed to their defensive success. It was more overall team defense, like the defensive play of their Fwds that contributed. In the past that was a defensive issue. I think too many of their d-men are the same kind of player and it could hurt them later on. But that's why they play the games.
-
Well that's your opinion. I think their defense is overrated.
-
Good for them. Doesn't change goaltending issue though.
-
Try sitting behind the gopher bench at that game. Directly behind. Classic.

If you're looking for committed recruits, no. If you are referring to kids we may be recruiting currently, then there might be a few names of kids we might be watching, but nobody ever really knows who we are recruiting for the most part. A few names slip out once in a while, but otherwise no one really knows.

Prospect camp has nothing to do with the Wild roster. Training camp does. And since Chay already played a year of pro, it's possible they gave him the option if he wanted to attend or not. I know you can't attend if you have played more than 2 years pro or something along those lines.
-
Zach won't be at center.
-
Why play third fiddle?
-
Did you hit your head? The point is that when the Wild were looking for offense from the blue line, they called up some other D-man from Houston that produced less than Chay did. I think that is the part that made no sense to me. But in looking back at the Wild's pattern in calling up players this year, players that played in Houston prior to this year got the nod over newbies. Hopefully Chay will get more of a chance this year.

Hextall was injured every season he played at UND. I'm not sure how that equates to "gone as far as he could"
-
I just don't like them, so I'm not going to say nice things about them. Bad guys here or not, I don't support their methods of continuous recruitment/harassment of committed kids. Poaching isn't the right word always, but sometimes it is. Again, sometimes this is all on the kid, these NTDP kids lack something...
-
The NTDP effect. It's kind of weird that those NTDP kids are the main ones we hear about decommiting these days...
-
I will bet good money on the Gophers.
-
You just can't explain it. That's how meaningful it is. I think the best things are things you can't explain. People who haven't gotten to experience it have no clue - and probably think you're crazy because you love it so much.
-
Not to butt in on this argument, but it's a bit off base to say someone can't accept reality for having a difference of opinion. We live in America. This is OK.
-
I was joking to a friend that we should offer one to the Gophers... obviously I wasn't serious, just making a point that we have goaltending depth. It was a good chuckle.
-
Not too many agree with you.
-
that's the million dollar question.
-
Local Minnesota teams? Like UMD and SCSU? Okay. Obviously you're referring to the big ten teams... Just say it.

Who Should Get to Vote on the New Name?
siouxforce19 replied to watchmaker49's topic in UND Nickname
My hometown, which is 5,000 population changed our name when I was in 5th grade. It was a vote of students from high school on down to at least middle school. Not sure if elementary students voted. We had a list of 5 names to vote from. Ironically, none of them won as there was apparently a write in campaign for another name that won out. I agree that it should be done by students. It is their school. Though I also agree alumni and others do have a stake in the university as well. I'm sure the process will be ironed out in the future. -
I feel safer downtown Minneapolis that in Uptown, where you get approached by cocaine dealers...

Have Luke Johnson and Paul LaDue Signed?
siouxforce19 replied to watchmaker49's topic in Men's Hockey
Each recruit is different - in this case you are talking about two local kids who bleed Sioux green. The recruits I worry about are non-locals who don't seem as committed. You can pick them out pretty good IMO -
I was debating about going as well.. Oh! A schedule! http://www.lincolnstarsblog.com/2011/05/2011-lincoln-stars-tryout-camp-schedule.html You're welcome.
