  1. Ah, I love trolls coming over here prognosticating on a season that's not over yet. Okay, I'll play. It's unwise to count out a team. Remember when UMD won the final five a few years ago and without that run wouldn't have made the tournament? Yeah, so I'd be quiet. I don't think much of UMD, but that goes for pretty much every team I've seen this year. Parity is outstanding this year. So I'd be careful about who you talk about going golfing... Doubt UMD is going to have an easy road in the NCAA's this year after their cakewalk last year.
  2. I thought the poster over there that made the claim that UNO and UMD are better at producing NHL defensemen was funny.
  3. Google is a wonderful tool. I see she goes to Culver Academy in Indiana, but also played in the Pittsburgh U16 program. Also participated in the National Festival for USA hockey, so she's obviously a talented player in her age group. She committed in November based on what I saw through Google. She'd be a 2013 recruit.
  4. Ditto here. the web streams are my lifeline to Sioux hockey right now.
  5. I've heard some good things about him from some Cedar Rapids fans also.
  6. Seth Jones tweeted Miles Koules and told him to tell him all about UND after his trip, signaling the rumor that Jones was in Grand Forks was inaccurate. If you read Jones' tweets, particularly those between him and Koules, it was pretty clear he wasn't in GF. That's pretty much it. Jones has already visited UND if I recall, he made a trip last year. Rumors indicate it's us or WHL.
  7. His twitter just makes it sound like he is not in GF.
  8. If Seth Jones HAPPENS to come to UND, hello stacked blue line. (Unless Mac leaves) I see he doesn't turn 18 until October. Did he accelerate or did his parents just send him to school early?
  9. I was right on Voltin, so adding to my post. He'll be playing for Des Moines now... he tweeted it.
  10. But people do find ways to argue with Montreal and Toronto, judging by the comments.
  11. It's so weird that Derek has never played against UMD, his hometown team. lol. Hopefully he'll get to play this time...
  12. I saw on another message board that he is on the Chicago roster that's on the USA Hockey site. Basically, from what I heard, Voltin requested to be traded, so adding him to their roster allows them to retain his rights so he can be traded, so I'm sure they are working on doing that right now. It'd be nice to see him on a team with another Sioux recruit(s).Can't say I blame him for not wanting to play for Chicago, worst team in the league. There's a reason some of their prospects have chosen to head north to the BCHL instead...
  13. While the bolded statement is true, it's important to just do well in general and not get in a hole. The Sioux only lost one non-conference game this year (to BC, 2nd game of the year), but tied both Maine and Harvard. Where the Sioux got burned was in the early season struggles and getting swept by Wisconsin and Minnesota and losing a game to BSU really hurts. Big hole to dig out of. My motto is : "just keep winning" ... then everything works itself out
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if they were interested, but I doubt they offered. Recent trends suggest we don't offer TOO many high school kids in MN. His dad played for UMD, so I figured he'd end up there. Called that one lol.
  15. Parise and Toews. It was in the article in the Duluth paper.
  16. Personally, if I had to take one of them, I'd take Toninato over Randolph. But I'm guessing he ends up at UMD. Also, it is incorrect that UND had an offer to Randolph. I listened to an interview with Jake on the internet and he had offers from Northern Michigan and UNO. I'm sure we showed interest, but probably hadn't offered anything.
  17. Training camps, yes. Rookie tournaments like the ones that happen before training camps you can attend if you pay your way, as Kristo attended one of these the year he played in the USHL, but most college players don't because it conflicts with school. So it all depends if the individual in question had things paid for.
  18. You can attend camps if you pay your own way. It just depends if they paid for him to attend or not. Lots of players attend NHL camps in the summer. Most NHL draftees do, I know that.
  19. I'm going to guess OHL. That's what you normally see with foreign players in the USHL, particularly Russians. And that's what I've heard about this guy as well. And correction, Matteau is going to the QMJHL.
  20. I'm not pissy at you. I'm pissy at certain other people that can't tell a poster on a message board something up front instead of going over to GPL and railing on my apparent "BS." That said, it doesn't matter. Just saw on twitter that Randolph committed to UNO today. I didn't think he'd be coming here anyways, so I'm pretty neutral.
  21. My apologies Gopher fan, I just repeat what I've heard. You can go over to GPL and report back to Hammy now that you told me off.
  22. They do it everywhere. Every arena I've been to, it's been done. It's like a tradition for student sections, no matter the score. So lets not restrict it to a few schools when it's everywhere.
  23. FSN really doesn't do a good job at doing research. I've been watching Hockey Day all day and already corrected them three times at least.
  24. Apparently his dad hates a lot of schools because he also hates Minnesota.
  25. I'd be surprised if Molenaar ended up at UND. From what I heard, he turned down UNO last year because he wanted to go to a better "academic" school. So he went to juniors. I heard Boston College was heavy after him also.
