Technically, Luke Johnson committed before he played in the USHL. But he also demonstrated what level he was at among his peers at USA select camps, Elite League, etc. as well, so we knew what kind of player he was.

I live in MN, so I've never seen this kid play. I have heard that while he is D1 caliber, that he's not quite there yet to get an offer from UND. Just a guess. Like I said, I don't know. I will withhold judgment until I see him play, if I ever do.

Shattuck plays at Benilde on Wednesday. I was going to check that out. Now, I know about who to watch for BSM, but who would be a couple guys on SSM without looking too far back in this theead? I've never seen them play before.

I read this article after I literally saw a kid lay on the ice for an extended period of time to get a 5 minute major in a 1 goal game w/ about 3 minutes left in the game. Kid was out on the first shift on the power play too. Reminded me of what MacWilliam was talking about in the article when it happened. The kid laying on the ice was a Badger recruit, FYI.

Yeah, honestly, if Holy Family makes it out of the section, it'd probably be the biggest shock of the season (or pretty close to it). I agree at them being a 5 seed. Maybe they could inch up to 4, because they have a much better record than Eden Prairie, but EP has played a tougher schedule, so that might be bit of a stretch. I'd like to see Cathedral come out of their section so I could see Poganski play at State, as the only time his team was in the Twin Cities was a couple weeks ago on Hockey Day MN and their game went on at the same time as the Sioux/Gopher game. I live 10 minutes from Holy Family, so I can see Gersich play whenever I want haha.

To say they're all top 10 NA skaters is a stretch. Did you mean American skaters? That's more on target, I'd say. Because NA would include Canada, and I don't think they're all top ten with Canada tossed in. Something I found interesting was that Wilkie and Gersich have the same birthday, are the same age, but Wilkie is a jr in HS and Gersich is a sophomore. Kind of funny.

Is this serious? He's a good player, but SO incredibly inconsistent. He disappears for stretches of a season, and I'm not just talking about a game or two, and I cannot call a guy the best player in the country if they do that. I think he's kind of overrated, to be honest.

I got called a derogatory term for a female that rhymes with bore for saying "Excuse me" to a Gopher fan that was blocking my spot at Mariucci last year. What a nice fellow. I hope I see him this weekend. Every fanbase has their bad seeds. Even if you keep your mouth shut, you still get egged on by certain fans. Some people are better at not engaging than others.

They completely were attacking him all game, no question. I did not see the kicking thing, though I was on the other end of the rink. The Wayzata guy probably deserved it. Can't say I blame him. Coach Jackson and Coach Berry were also at the game.

What does objectivity have to do with a Gopher fan having a screen name with "Sioux" in it? Oh yeah, nothing. It's a ploy and nothing more. Gopher fans are not objective when it comes to the Sioux. Sioux fans are not objective when it comes to the Gophers. Easy as that.
