  1. Osieki was the reason he committed to Wisco. Because he's known as a great defensive coach. It really doesn't happen that often...
  2. Why would defensemen care? Eades isn't a defensive coach. He played forward for UND. He coaches the powerplay...
  3. I don't get all that nervous about guys who won't be here until 2014.
  4. But they tried to get Stepan and McDonaugh to do the same. And... McDonaugh was actually not a draft pick of the Rangers. He was drafted by the Habs.
  5. It's the tradeoff. You play more games in the CHL, but it's against younger kids. College you play less games against older guys. I guess it depends what you're looking for.
  6. It's been discussed at length in the "Prospective Recruits" thread.
  7. One father of a kid in the WHL called in to Beyond the Pond and talked about his sons choice and he said his son would develop better there, but gave no reasons as to why. Very evasive guy. Just kept repeating what he had already said. Parents definitely drink a bit of koolaid as well. I don't oppose the CHL as a means, just the shady tactics used. I'm definitely against young kids signing on at 15/16 though. Why rush into a decision that has that much impact on your future? Jason Gregoire is an example. He didn't sign because his dad told him to wait. I'm sure he is glad he waited after figuring out all the options
  8. Sorry, but NCAA hockey > CIS hockey. I've heard horror stories about CHL teams backing out on the education package too. It's a big gamble at 15/16 if you ask me.
  9. Yes, they do. So he's not getting out of that until he graduates.
  10. I believe it would be him or Tambellini. Not sure on a preference. Caggiula is older, but Tambellini plays in a better league. Though the only reason Caggiula left Des Moines (USHL) was because he was homesick.
  11. I'm not sure where you heard that because I have never heard a single thing about that from ANYONE.
  12. You seem to be in the know sir....
  13. And... he loves the Red Pepper! I'm telling you. That place is a vastly underrated recruiting tool.
  14. Mariucci doesn't let you sit though. I have never sat in an actual seat at that arena. Stupid standing room only....
  15. Speaking of Forbort, he has two career goals and both of the goalies he scored on were playing last night In my opinion, if Forbort's overrated, what are the Gopher D-men? I'm sorry, but I think Patterson saved their bacon A LOT this year. I'm interested to see what they do next year without a strong force back there, particularly to start. Also, I thought one of the reasons we had such a rough start to the season was because a lot of the d-men were having rough starts. I thought Forbort was terrible in the beginning, and I thought Mac and Simpson started out pretty rough as well, but got better as the season progressed. Oh, he also says since Brock is gone, we won't be able to score any goals.
  16. I freaking despise that pompous, arrogant, thinks-he-knows-everything-about-everyone d-bag. I also like his name-calling of 16 year old recruits of rival teams. How mature.
  17. Ah. I got them confused with Clarkson and those schools .
  18. I'm pretty sure Union is a scholarship school. I thought only the ivy league schools in the ECAC didn't give scholarships?
  19. The sooner more of us realize that the landscape of college hockey has changed and stop living in the past, the sooner more of us can come to terms with how difficult it is to win the NCAA title. You think it's easy to go to five frozen four's in eight years? It's not. There are what? 58 teams in college hockey and only 4 are playing the final weekend. Parity is a lot greater across the country as a whole because the game has grown so much in the last 10-20 years. And the reality is every good team needs a little bit of luck and things to go their way.
  20. No one said BC didn't have players leave early. But there are some programs that can minimize those losses, and BC is one of them. And usually, it's not a mass exodus. It's one or two every year, maybe. Overall, the top teams in the country the last few years have remained the same. The teams that reload are always a factor.
  21. I wasn't referring the frozen four's though. I was channeling back to October when we put up 2 on BC.
  22. Heard that "free agent" loophole is closing most likely, so it might not be an option much longer
