  1. 25 Defense 6'5" 213 lbs OTT L I have an honest question. He's tall, strong and unfairly punished by NCAA referees with penalties for being so. I have never seen the guy up close in person. Does he need another year to fill out with muscle mass or is he ready to go in that regard? Or is he still needing time to bulk up on that big frame for the next step?
  2. The black sweaters had a shelf life, which has long since expired. If you want some novelty, use the greys. Otherwise, the blacks need to disappear for a while and give way to the green and white. There is nothing special about them any longer.
  3. You called it earlier!
  4. Ooof, this one hurts. I despise the NFL today, but long ago I loved Bud, the Vikings and the brand he helped forge. RIP
  5. Whew! I was starting to question your taste.
  6. This is so very true.
  7. One of, if not the most exciting plays in baseball was eliminated from baseball, the run-saving crash at home plate. Now we have a pussy dance around home plate for the most important plays in a game. Let New York decide, no harm in that! Replay (I understand it's not going away) has ruined pro sports in many ways. Baseball had an artistic leniency element to it, the DP foot drag; and football had the momentum...keep them on their heels , go go go! element [whistle, replay], players get a free timeout. Baseball was allowed some artistry and flat out barbary, football was war...these prime elements are eroding with replay. I don't like it. Old man rant.
  8. One-and-done in high level hockey is a tough pill to swallow for really good teams. I know it will never happen, but how many titles would Hak have won with the teams he coached blazing into the tournament with a 2/3 series? The regular season of hockey is a game of attrition and ebbs/flows; the playoffs come and the chance of bad puck luck or misfortune in one game derails an entire season. That is part of the fun (see Holy Cross), and part of the greatest teams going down the memory hole. UND certainly benefitted in the past from one-and-done (1997), but probably would have benefitted more with a 2/3 scenario (1998, 2011 and more). One game only, bring back home regionals.
  9. Putting it on UND green (0, 00) would not save you in that case.
  10. I would be all about it, but have since moved. Sorry it didn't work out a few years back in Prescott. Living in Hatton now, Blue Line is going to be rocking. Thank you for the invite!
  11. The Bronze Boot could cook a mean steak, on par with some famous steakhouses, to absolute perfection (tall guy with the tall hat as I remember). Everything else was mediocre at best, if not approaching lousy. Great neon sign, saved by HOE.
  12. That is sweet. Sure with that was the daily driver for this team.
  13. Yep.
  14. Temporarily closed according to their website: https://www.huhot.com/location/grand-forks-nd/
  15. I completely agree.
  16. Doug Woog has passed away, sad news for all of college hockey. He seemed to be a great person and he certainly loved college hockey. https://www.twincities.com/2019/12/14/gophers-south-st-paul-hockey-hero-doug-woog-dies-at-75/
  17. Never forget how fortunate we are to have the classic voice and game calling skills of Tim. He is tremendously underrated...the Grand Forks version of Bob Cole that cannot be replaced.
  18. Nope. But a$$hole$ like Mike Jacobs can take the high road and preach without logic nor consequence.
  19. What team(s) will end UND's NCAA appearance streak, if any? Or do we do it ourselves with more losses? Since UND is likely to remain a bubble team, this is a fun way of posing the question of what school(s) is most likely to make an upset run in their respective conference tournaments? Or, do we find a way?
  20. A nice story about Aaron Dell on NHL.com.
  21. I can support screwing over the B1G.
  22. I'd much rather listen to Hennessy's radio call online than pay the B1G one penny. He is really good, and we are fortunate to have such a talent in our small market. Enjoy it while you can.
