After the ass-kicking the voters put on the initiative this month, it would be adding insult to injury to let it happen again, but as I've said many times nothing would surprise me anymore.

I was thinking a couple days ago it will be nice now that the issue has moreless been settled and the UND fans on all sides of the issue would get back to concentrating on the teams and start getting along again...and then the last 2 days have been as bad as any leading up to the vote. We need football and hockey to get started in a big way.

Are you kidding just a little tiny bit darell? Even if the Griz are down with all their problems and UND does beat them at home, beating any of the other 3 on their turf is going to be a tall order, Montana State is pretty good and it's not easy to win at the Bloody Carpet House, don't know what SDSU is putting on the field this year but they are still a FBS team playing at home so it will be tough. I would say going 2-2 in these 4 games would be considered very good.

I'll take 3 healthy upper echelon goalies and leave it to Hak and Co. to determine which one deserves to put on the pads each night. That is all.

WTF are people doing still talking about this? The NCAA screwed up and sent it the wrong school with a cover letter addressed to the wrong person, Faison left a message at NDSU because he had bigger issues to address that day, a few people shared pictures of it to get a laugh, and they packaged it up and sent it on its way. And that is worth 20 pages on B'ville and 6 pages on here? Everything in this world is not a conspiracy, get a f'ing grip.

I looked at the state track site and he ran some 10.9s earlier in the year and then missed a few weeks, might have gotten hurt and not been totally 100% for Divisional/State. He was chosen as a DB for the game last night, couldn't get the game so I don't know how he looked.

11.22, didn't really cut any time off this year but he might be bulking up a little for football so I wouldn't worry about it. I've seen him, he's quick with good instincts, averaged 8 YPC this year, they said at signing he would redshirt which might be good to put a little more meat on his 160 lb. frame.

Yeah but he meant he's playing for Montana in this game. Been a good series lately, Montana dominated for a while but it's been pretty even recently.

There's no right answer to that, to some winning the NIT is like winning "Miss Congeniality" because even being there is admitting you weren't good enough to play with the big boys, so some will think it's great and some will say 'So what?' and they'll both have a point. I can't remember the last time I watched a NIT game, it's been years.

You don't hurt my feelings Dave, actually I wish you'd get past this thing and realize that you're a fan of the guys who have played for this school...Hrkac, Parise, Toews, Greene, Oshie, Frattin, and the rest...more than the jerseys they wore on their backs, and cheer for what the team really represents, but I don't know if that will ever happen.

That GS game was the extreme, but you're right you have to be able to pass at least enough to keep the defense honest. NDSU couldn't have asked for a better opponent, they got ahead and with their run defense it was over. The Big Sky does throw the ball as much as any FCS conference, even if the run is working, and that will be the test for UND. The secondary will have to be quite a bit better than last year to keep them in games. And to the UNC fan, not talking smack or anything, but you guys were playing from behind quite a bit last year and that always skews your passing % higher than you'd like it.

Then why are you still here? If you truly have convictions about what you say, walk away from the team, the school, these message boards, and anything else that you consider part of your past now that the nickname is gone. You've said many times in the last couple years that if the name goes you feel you have to go as well, and now it's come to that. If you are a man of your word and actually will honor the ultimatum that you have promised on here numerous times, then walk away with some kind of dignity and at least let people know that you are someone who stands by their beliefs, because if you stay here and keep crying about the way the vote came out and the doom it's going to bring UND, then people are just going to consider you a whiny bitch. And a liar.

And now "the rest of the story". They released the shooter yesterday because they determined he had nothing to do with the incident. So who did the shooting? The guy shot himself. In the armpit. They haven't said why yet, but speculation is he did it to liven up the storyline in his book, although the way it has played out so far there might be an even more bizarre story coming Monday at the press conference. Crazy people stay away from Montana, we don't need any more Unabombers.

I would say that the Big Sky should be no lower than the MVFC, once you get past the Bison I'm not that impressed with anyone else, and they showed it during the playoffs. #2a and 2b if anything.

It should be some combination of current and former students and faculty, the general public will have no say. If they don't include all of these people the risk of a late-night secret naming committee producing a piece of crap will increase dramatically.

The letter was even addressed to Faison, it wasn't just misshipped. That's even worse. What a joke.

Perfect timing the day after the name is voted out. "We are the NCAA...and we care about YOU!"

Might be a good idea to put new nickname ideas on the back burner until things settle down and people somewhat recover from the loss of the Fighting Sioux nickname. Even the people who voted yes and realized that giving up the name was the only way out of the NCAA situation are probably feeling a little sick about it, I couldn't vote not living in ND but still there is a sense of loss. It must be much worse for the pro-nickname people. I don't even want to think about a new nickname right now, and I bet I'm not alone.

Changing amendments are touchy subjects anyway, it makes no sense to continue pushing for something that is obviously unpopular with 2/3 of the state. But nothing would surprise me anymore.

Now with the measure being defeated by such a huge margin, will this thing finally be put to bed or will the petition people keep pushing? I mean honestly shouldn't this be the trump card to end the game?

Can't squeeze any more blood out of this turnip, time to move on to his next agenda.
