How about just The National? Sounds pretty important.
-
Camera angles BTW, what did you think of Polys uniforms?
-
I thought they both looked pretty good offensively, defenses were up and down...typical Big Sky game.
-
34 you mean. Portland has done everything they could to hand Poly the game.
-
Blown coverage and Poly goes up 31-21, tale of two halves in this one. EDIT: 31-28 on a bomb
-
There's only one answer to that question.
-
Poly has woke us this half, they both look pretty decent.
-
Polys defense had 10 starters back this year and was supposed to be good but has been giving up over 30 a game average so far.
-
Cal Poly at Portland State is on Root tonight at 9 Grand Forks time. Many people picking Portland as a dark horse to make noise this year, only loss was at Cal 37-30.

That's the biggest problem, everybody who homers wants to make a production out of it now, if you hit 3 homers in a World Series game like Reggie Jackson...take an extra second, everybody else...get moving.
-
They'd be crazy to bring him back already from a separated shoulder, he'd be one hit from being done for the year. Unless it wasn't exactly what they said it was...hmmm.
-
Sounds like this goes back, Maholm hit him a few months ago, maybe intentionally, probably factored in. Freeman joined in late, Gomez starting jawing at Maholm on his way to first, then Maholm and Freeman jumped on it, then it all went to hell. I still don't know why Freeman was the only one tossed, something must have happened I didn't see in the scrum.
-
Yeah they counted it and they pulled Gomez out of the game after that, being the top of the first I suppose they thought it would turn into a beanball war if they didn't.
-
Here it is for those who missed it. http://www.cbssports...s-gomez-hr-trot I guess my question is why would you piss someone off who throws 90 MPH baseballs at your head?
-
Ha...a Billy Smith mention...that guy was mental.
-
I know what you mean, we went through the same thing last year.

Did Ashworth play last week, I thought someone said he did?

There's so many variables that are unknown it is almost impossible to try to predict where everyone will fall when this finally happens. How many levels will there be? How many scholarships will there be at each level? How many sports will each level be required to offer? What will be the facility requirements at each level? These are questions that could force schools to choose one path or another, even within the Big Sky and MVFC there could be the haves and the have-nots depending on what the requirements are. These two conferences could very well end up looking very different with one being filled with the more financially sound teams in a higher level and the other with the teams that couldn't afford the move staying at something that resembles the level they are currently at. Hopefully when this does happen the NCAA will take all that into account and set the levels so that the current FCS teams will (mostly) all be able to move together to whatever the new level will be, but it's no guarantee, teams like NDSU and Montana might have a lot of pull in FCS but in the NCAA's grand scheme of things they are not going to affect the process that much, and may be forced to make a difficult decision. In the hypothetical situation that scholarship/sport/facility requirements are something similar to what FBS is requiring now, it's going to knock a lot of potential movers out of the picture. When Montana was considering moving a couple years ago the upfront cost was over $30 million for facility upgrades (and our facilities are pretty decent) and the athletic budget would have went from $16 to $23 million/year. I assume under that scenario some schools simply would not be able to comply because they would be forced to build new stadiums for at least one sport and they just couldn't afford it, plus their athletic budgets are probably much less than the $16 million that Montana spends, which would be even more money they would have to come up with yearly. If I had to guess, and that's all ANYBODY can do at this point, I think they will set the level that will affect teams that are currently upper FCS at somewhere between where they are now and what the current FBS requirements are... scholarships somewhere in the middle, another required sport or two, and a lower requirement on facilities. Where those requirements fall is going to tell the tale as far as where the teams in this area are going to end up...if they are only a slight increase over what is required now, the Big Sky and MVFC will probably look about the same as it does today...if the requirements are going to take a substantial amount of money, the upper end of the Big Sky and MVFC might have to make a difficult decision and may be forced to join forces in a move. The good news for the Montana and North Dakota schools is they each have a cash cow that helps their budget, football for the Montanas and NDSU, hockey for UND...that is one advantage many schools don't have. But at this point it's all speculation, and like the old saying goes..."everybody has an opinion, just like an a**hole". There's no sense worrying about it until something more concrete shows up.

Yeah, it's like that.

He probably wouldn't have gotten in trouble if he would have stopped after Scott hooked up with the other guy, it looks like he only hit his shin or skate the first time trying to keep him away, I think what doomed him was continuing after Scott was engaged with the other guy, that and the spear later. Either way, 3 preseason games seems a little weak.
-
I don't think the instigator is in question Dave, it's whacking guys from behind with sticks that is the issue, apparently there was another one later than the video showed too. Even if someone singles you out and is obviously the attacker they're not going to let you start swinging sticks.
-
Scott will probably add to the penalty next time they play after seeing the video.

Was drinking and roughed up a couple signs it sounds like, and also had an unpaid parking ticket when they ran him on the computer. Not really big deals but with the past problems at UM they're not putting up with any BS now, they suspended him and he apologized to the team and school so hopefully it's all good and the rest of the team will take notice. Bad thing is he is probably our best DB and tackler and will be missed at NAU, a few stupid moments puts his team in a hole.
