Louisiana-Lafayette outrushed K State too, looks like there's a pattern there.

0-16...hello Bridgewater!
-
That's the first thing that crossed my mind.
-
I've never seen somebody post on an opponents board AFTER beating them looking for excuses for their players...makes no sense.

Damn straight. Uncle Rico: "How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?" Uncle Rico: "Yeah, If coach would've put me in fourth quarter, we'd have been state champions, no doubt. No doubt in my mind. You better believe things would have been different. I'd have gone pro in a heartbeat. I'd be makin' millions of dollars and livin' in a big ol' mansion somewhere. You know, soakin' it up in a hot tub with my soul mate."

By comparison, Uncle Rico was the 18th ranked QB according to Pedro's Sweet Rankings in 82.

Can't grasp sarcasm huh timeforachange?

Where coaches get in trouble is not adapting to changes in the game or stubbornly sticking to schemes or players who cannot put the team in position to win, e.g. Rex Ryan. Some coaches get stale at their job like everyone else and need to move on, and sometimes they move to a new team and find their stride again, you never know. That said, I think Frazier is doing about all he can with what he has. Average QB at best, 1 veteran receiver and a bunch of young guys, and a horrible secondary does not translate to a 10-6 team...his coaching staff did a great job last year. Now if Ponder continues to have 4 turnovers every game and they don't pull the plug within a month, then I'm going to join in calling for...gulp...Cassel.

I don't know how good App State really is, we turned the ball over twice inside their 15 and had the ball at their 5 at the end of the game and kneeled it out, really should have put 40-50 points on them. Their QB took a lot of hits and was knocked out of the game for about a quarter and never looked like the guy who threw for over 3000 yards last year, they just didn't look like what you normally see from Appy.
-
I remember when Montana played Marshall in the championship and Randy Moss single-handedly destroyed us, they would throw to him with 2 guys hanging all over him and he would come down with it...over and over. Those passes could be called ill-advised but if you have a guy capable of taking it away from a defender...do it. I would throw to Hardin in single coverage all day.

You're saying Sumner is going to get drafted? There's only about 10 QB's drafted each year and you have to be exceptional to be drafted from FCS, I think Sorenson was the only one last year and he went late in the last round, and he was a stud.
-
Don't forget Ponder "led" them to a 10-6 record and a playoff berth last year...that's what Frazier and the apologists will say.
-
3 picks, 3 sacks, and a fumble...nice start Ponder. You know you're in trouble when Cassel looks like an option.

Yeah it ended up being a double-whammy, even after the missed delay call it would have been 3rd and 5 before the personal foul, just a disaster of a play from the start for UND.
-
It's more a matter of better field position, more momentum and adrenaline from both the team and the crowd, plus another 2 minutes on the clock. If UND holds after the missed delay call SDSU is punting from the endzone instead of the 30 and UND gets the ball back with 4:30 left instead of 2:19, presumably with much better field position. With 1:30 on the clock at midfield everybody knew they were throwing every down, if they get the ball at SDSU's 40 with 4 minutes left the playbook is wide open. Not saying it would have ended differently, Mollberg might have forced a ball in that situation too, but the situation would have been a lot better for UND to score on.
-
Actually the bad part of that play is that the play clock might have ran out and they missed it.
-
Did the play clock expire on that?

Interesting place to line up Wildcat
