Half price beer Friday night! Oh probably not. I hope it's something cool this weekend because I will be there.

Bring 'em on.

I'm a verified Avalanche hater, but you have to give Roy credit for what he's doing there...his attitude and intensity is driving that team right now.

Us or them? And what happened to Drake? -
I'm impressed with the effort Penn State is making with hockey, well done.

What's the score guys? -
If he's doing what it looks like he's doing, it is a violation, the rules are pretty specific. He needs to stop.

For clarification, I wasn't implying they weren't properly funded, just saying they were holding their cash reserves at about the same level they have been, even the non-profits have a number in mind they want to maintain as cash on hand to cover x number of days expenses and some padding, it's just business. They're fine financially.

What's the score of that game?

Looking at their 990's they're just tightening their belt a little, they have more working capital than debt and are holding about even, not a lot more but not a problem by any means.

That's a tough call, I'm thinking tie.

Looks like AIM and the ACLU are stepping it up a notch... http://sports.yahoo....12320--nfl.html

I think NDSU's success the last couple years is making teams rethink their recruiting and approach, FCS has been the same for 20 years...we're going to put up a lot of points and have a defense good enough to make a few stops. That philosophy has worked in the past, but with NDSU winning 2 titles with their 'defense first' attitude it's causing teams to take another look and adjust their game...Montana hasn't seriously focused on defense for over 10 years and that's a big topic now, along with going back to the pro-set power run game, my thinking is teams that aren't moving in that direction right now are going to find themselves behind the curve in a few years. Of course like you said, you need to have a little bit of a passing attack, a couple of those teams you guys drew in the playoffs were probably the most one-dimensional teams I've ever seen, that's going to get you in trouble come playoff time regardless of your defense.

Unless the kid is a longtime friend of the family you can't have any conversation with him suggesting a school to play at, it sounds harsh but it is correct, we hashed out that whole discussion a couple years ago after a casual conversation with somebody. It's spooky what the NCAA considers a "representative of the University", it goes way beyond somebody drawing a paycheck, more like anybody who is a booster or supporter in any way. Do I agree with all of it? Not especially. Does it still go on? Of course, but probably out of ignorance for the rules more than anything else. In this case, if true, there's no doubt he would be in violation, he's more than the average fan and booster, I have a hard time believing he'd be that stupid to contact kids on a traceable media but...you know Lakes.

PSU will put up 500+ yards of offense but will commit 10 personal fouls because they're thugs and the final score will be within a couple TD's.

Wait until next year when the challenge system hits during the playoffs, going to see some long "discussions" about phantom tags and vicinity outs at second.

I guess my feeling is hardcore fans need to vent somewhere, better on a fan site than hanging signs at the game or wearing bags on their heads. Threads like these go on everywhere, half of the Griz football board is bitching about coaching and play calling, and they're 6-1...nobody is ever happy. The "fire Hak" thread will fire up soon too, at the first sign of trouble the torches and pitchforks will come out of the basement. It really doesn't mean anything or have any bearing on anything. What does have bearing is that this program has major problems, and isn't going the correct way to fix them. When you have players getting curb stomped and dancing on the sidelines, players tweeting their unhappiness with the program during the season, and the AD having to discipline players DURING games, it's pretty obvious the coaching staff has lost the control and respect of their players, and that is never going to work. As far as attendance, that is going to be the result of the product, and after getting blown out by Sac. State can you blame anybody for not wanting to show up? With the exception of the first half against EWU, the last 4 home games have been disasters, no attendance number will surprise me now. I think people were pretty patient coming into this year, with 7 home games most fans were pretty high on the possibility of a playoff berth and were hoping Muss and his staff could get it done, but now that it's played out like it has, all things considered, I can't blame people for wanting a change. The fact that 70 of these 92 pages are in the last 6 weeks speaks volumes.

I was telling people last year before the season they should trade AD and Allen and get a load of picks, then they made the playoff run and proved me wrong. Turns out I might have been a year off.
-
Yeah this is one of those games like Dallas/Washington and NE/Jets, regardless of the records it is usually a good game at the worse teams house. But after last nights performance I would dial that back a little bit.

He'll get some time because let's face it they're already thinking about next year, what's hard to believe is they scored exactly 0 points against the second to worst (Jacksonville) scoring defense in the NFL, with Peterson, Jennings, Rudolph, and Simpson the best they could do is a missed long FG and a couple turnover on downs late in the game in Giants territory...pathetic.

In other news Leslie Frazier spotted at the Twin Cities Punt, Pass, and Kick finals this morning intensely watching the passing competition.
-
I haven't seen him play this year but he looks like everything is aimed and forced, his game is 180 degrees different than last year. So...who's the next retread QB in line to stink it up?

"There's some confusion in the Vikings huddle right now" Yeah since the preseason.
