Sat night in Houghton after we clinch the Cup on Friday night

I'm glad SCSU is coming off a very good performance in Duluth as that means we shouldn't overlook them and they should have our utmost attention. that said get a spilt this weekend, then sweep the next two and the Cup is ours.

I'm not foreseeing a friday "slump" this week I really think we'll come out and have a real solid win 5-1 or 4-1 win, saturday on the other hand.... For the first time that I can recall I am saying anything less than 4 points is unacceptable this weekend. if we don't get for points this weekend I don't seeing us finishing first. and can somebody shut that UAA blogger up, is all he can do this week is take shots at the state of North Dakota and its residents?

my two year old boy has become a sioux hockey addict, it is all he wants to watch and play sioux hockey. he refuses to watch mickey mouse instead he wants to watch the sioux. my wife says he is worse than me, he makes his dad proud and he's only been to two games.

nope and I wouldn't expect to hear much more than that, due to federal law. we probably won't hear any expected time frame other than "a while or don't know at this time" come mid week either.

I don't care what it takes for us to finish in the top two as long as we do that and avoid the play-in games at the final five. cuz if we don't we could possibly see a repeat of last year where we played 6 game sin 9 days and we all remember how well we did in the ncaa's being dead tired.

I'm sorry but who gives a rip about what yale is doing or not doing. we currently have a team in a serious funk and currently isn't anywhere near a team that can take over as the number one team in the country. so it really doesn't matter that yale lost.

Hak was essentially hand picked by Blais to be his successor and things have turned out pretty well. We are the only to team in the WCHA to make the NCAA tournament every year since Hak took over(in fact I think us and Michigan are the only two nationally to make it every year since Hak took over), obviously there were some bad frozen four appearances(2006 and 2008) and in 2005 and 2006 with a little luck we would have a NC to brag about.

I was not in the gf area at the time, but were people calling for Blais' head after the 2001-2002 season when we didn't even make the tournament? or were people just well that's will just happen from time to time?

as far as points go this a huge series beings duluth and denver are both off and we are off next week. I think for us to have a share of first place after next weekend we need a minnimum of three points this weekend. on a side note I know it is still early but as of right now we hold the tie breaker over both duluth and denver even though we split we have more conference wins than both.

yep and when my 2 1/2 year old asked me this morning if the sioux scored last night(as he wasn't at the game)-and he got so excited when I told him yes and he started to go sieve,sieve, sieve.

my biggest beef with hak is that we don't come out ready to go in a lot og games-three times in the last eight games we have found ourselves down 2-0 in the first period

so we're 176-2, sitting as the number two team in the pairwise and lapoint has started I beleive all but one game which was athe sat night in maine-has played pretty well and people want to sit him? I don't get it. I remeber two years when he went down injured he was one of our best on the pk and after he got hurt our pk sucked the rest of the year. let's give the guy some credit. he isn't the most skilled or talented d-man we have but he is pretty reliable and doesn't do stupid things as some of our other d-man can be prone to do with the puck or penalties.

how about being just the University of North Dakota. if the Fighting Sioux isn't good enough for people than let's not go with anything. that being said I think going with something like the force of the north would be the closest thing to this as there is.

I see the tournament committee has tweeked the pairwise critera back to the old form for the TUC catagory and now it is any team with a .500 RPI or better is a TUC instead of just being in the top 25 of rpi.

3 hours is a long time in western north dakota with not much happening except high school sports. bismarck century football and basketball can only take you so far.

I would sure hope he doesn't, I am not a huge fan of his. the radio show he does in bismarck whenever I have listened to it puts me to sleep as I drive through bismarck. what drives me nuts about shows like his are they think they know sioux hockey, but he really doesn't but acts like he does.

is yale better than us? that's up for debate I don't think they are but yale is what it is, an Ivy league school that has scheduling restrictions and a very weak schedule. they did beat us last year and in a one and done situation anything can happen. would they beat us in a best of 7, no way. let's not forget people were bashing TCU for it's "weak" schedule and in a one game setting they beat wisonsin. I would love to get another shot at Yale. the schedule we have played and willplay will prepare us beter for the ncaa's than yale. and if we end up as the number two team in the pairwise at the end of the year so be it as being the number one overall seed hasn't counted for much the past few years, except for BU.
