I do love the new Tech jerseys. If Michigan Tech can out-recruit LSSU and Northern Michigan (given the location of the schools, they are likely recruiting the same players), the Huskies could be very formidable in the new WCHA.

I like that too. Nice recruiting pitch...a message to Northern Michigan and Lake Superior Sate. Has anyone noticed St Cloud State doing the same thing since Motzko took over? Their shoulder patch was changed to one of the outline of the state if Minnesota. It used to be the same logo as the main crest - the Montreal Canadiens wanna-be's.

That's not the first time I've heard the 'college hockey Yankees' line. A few years ago, a local sports columnist was skewered by the press for saying the same thing...FSN TV deal...WCHA Final Five in its own backyard every March, biggest city in conference...top notch facility...ability to cherry-pick 95% of talent in area in terms of high school recruits...and despite ALL of these advantages, somehow not able to dominate the landscape year in and year out. I cannot remember the sportswriter...but I remember the comment. It might have been Patrick Reusse...

I have ZERO doubt that UND will be playing at 7:00pm on Thursday. Book it.

Yikes...I thought they had lost Game 1 already...not sure why I even thought that...thanks for the correction. I've always liked Maine hockey and still believe they were hosed out of an NCAA title in 2002. Their program has really struggled the last couple of years though.
