Nothing brings out first-class pricks like Gopher fans pounding down beers and their team losing a hockey game...unless it's their team WINNING a hockey game.

Jim, I respect your intellect a ton, especially when it comes to this stuff. However, when I read information like this, it reminds me of when I was a kid watching the Snoopy Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas specials...you know, the ones where you don't have a clue what the teacher in Charlie Brown's class is saying and can't understand why it's just gibberish?

My son's mite team in Bloomington had outdoor practices typically once a week during the season. Lots of teams have an outdoor night in addition to their regular indoor practices.

The Hoggsbreath will be ready for us at 11:00 am this Friday. I plan on being there around 10:00 am so if you're up early and bored, feel free to come on down before post time - migh have to arrange some tables and get door prizes organized too. I talked to Jossie last night and requested "SCREW THE NCAA - WELCOME FIGHTING SIOUX FANS" be put up on the marquee. She apparently leaned over and told Tom what I wanted on the sign and he laughed out loud. Sorry, no-can-do on that one...not that he didn't like it. It will, however, say something to the effect of "WELCOME FIGHTING SIOUX FANS". Items for you to bring: Your favorite Sioux hockey stories along with your best Final Five memory. There will be open mike opportunities to share with the group. I believe the crowd will be big enough this year for some formal introductions so people can put SiouxSports.com monikers and logos with actual faces and real names.

I believe that Big A HG is talking about authentic versions of the current jerseys being ready for sale to the general public by next season. I highly doubt that there will be any changes until a new team nickname and logo is chosen.

kollarfan, 01grad, Eskimos, scpa0305, MissSioux85, and crb1...are you able to come Friday instead of Saturday? I hope you are able to attend...it'll be a good time and a nice tune-up for the 2:00 pm semi-final game on Friday.

Michigan has won 8 in a row and 10 of their last 12. After a sweep at the hands of Western Michigan at the end of January (2-3 and 1-5), they reversed the tables in the first round of the CCHA playoffs, beating the Broncos 4-3 on Friday night and then SMOKED the defending CCHA playoff champions 5-1 on Saturday night. The Wolverines have not played Miami since October and will face them Saturday afternoon at Joe Louis Arena in front of a nice partisan maize and blue crowd. I've got Michigan winning Saturday...but closer than the experts think.

I knew the fishtail WCHA patch moved to the chest (major improvement) and that the Vector was eliminated (jersey fail - I hate the gigantic 'Reebok' on the front)...but I don't know if I would buy another authentic green jersey over those changes. I'll concede the white and black jersey changes probably necessitate new jersey purchases, LOL.

I personally prefer the 09-11 blacks with the green number on back and sleeves as opposed to the 12 blacks with the white number on back and sleeves. The whites also went from green number on back and sleeves to black. What's the big diff with the green jerseys though?
