When Kelley decrees that he's resurrecting "Sundogs" from the boneyard and making it UND's new nickname?

So now a sampling of voters here is akin to a Gallup poll?

I don't agree with you often, fs4l, but after mulling this over a bit, I think you might be onto something here. Kelley has effectively made about 5,000 Nodaks voters happy while at the same time, ensuring that those "eliminated" votes now don't swing over to Rough Riders and pole-vault that choice to victory. Consultants look like geniuses, Kelley doesn't have to worry about those nasty Indian comments from Teddy Roosevelt coming to the surface, win-win for everyone!

Well, if it keeps the Mets out of the World Series, I vote "aye."

SiouxSports.com is a very, very small sampling of eligible voters.

With all due respect, I'd like to see the voting breakdown before I start throwing stones at the student-block of Fighting Hawk fans.

There's something you don't read every day: The words "Dr. Kelley" and "integrity" being used in the same conversation.

Well, given that an overwhelming majority of eligible voters don't appear to care what the new nickname is, I guess we deserve whatever fate befalls us, don't we?

Oh, now that it's four, forget it. Marketing disaster!

I'm no fan of Rough Riders, but if the SEC can successfully market 3 Tigers and 2 Bulldogs, then I'm guessing UND could figure out how to differentiate itself from a CFL team in Saskatchewan, a local high school, and a minor league hockey team in Iowa.

So now the claim is that almost 50% of current students voted - and all of them voted for Fighting Hawks? No way.

Well, you were citing their number to claim how popular the name was in comparison to Fighting Hawks, so there's that...

So you're claiming it's a Kelley conspiracy to foil Roughriders?

Cratter, in all seriousness, how many variations of Nodaks and Rough Riders can you possibly come up with?

Agreed. Embarrassing that folks can be so easily duped by social media. That logo talk is absurd.

Also, for what it's worth, my thought is that if you didn't care enough to vote in round 1, why should you be allowed to vote in round 2?

To borrow from "The Naked Gun"... Experts say there's a 50/50 shot at more voters in Round 2...although there's only a 33% chance of that.

And if Kelley left Nodaks out of the equation, he would be accused of trying to put sandbags up to stop the rising tide of that choice. Like I said, he couldn't win either way with this decision. Excellent use of the word "capisce," BTW. Nicely done!

That "fake logo" must be being floated around by the hockey only fans, right?

Only 116 votes separated Nodaks and Roughriders. I'm no fan of Kelley, but he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't with this one.

As opposed to the NoDak Nodaks?

Because by including Nodaks as a choice, it's almost statistically impossible for the final standings to change.

I guess if practically everyone who voted for North Stars or Sundogs now votes for Roughriders, then sure, "wins easily" it is.
