I think with the hiring of Bubba and the building of the IPF Faison is doing things for UND football to get on the right track to be a winner, now what has Faison done for UND basketball? From coaching to video boards to getting an updated Big Sky logo it's safe to say Faison is ignoring that sport compared to hockey and football.

Why do you keep saying what I think? I would like to cut baseball and women's hockey and replace both with men's and women's lacrosse. I never said cut all women's sports, or any of them. Just replacing a money draining sport with a cheaper one. Do you Title IX is a good thing as it stands today?

Didn't women play college sports prior to title IX? UND had to ax wrestling because of it.

I know students love hockey but not so much "women's" hockey and there is zero interest in baseball, how many people on campus know the other WAC teams we play? Maybe 5 or 6 people. Title IX just sucks.

So having the Sioux name and being on the naughty list wouldn't hurt? How many teams wouldn't play us or in SDSU's case threaten not to play us? I guess hosting football playoff games are overrated...how many titles would NDSU would've won if all their playoff games were not in the Fargodome? But as long as we have the Sioux name and logo right?

I watched the Yale vs Maryland lacrosse game and I wish UND had it, the rules are similar to hockey and our hockey buddies Denver is a DI member of the Big East Conference, it's too bad it's not big all around the country as all the conferences are in the east the closest DI teams to us are Notre Dame and Denver. There are more women's DI teams than men so UND could go with that and maybe dump baseball and women's hockey. Play games at Memorial or at the IPF among other places. I wish UND would give this a look.

I agree it was a shame in 5 years UND couldn't get the Standing Rock to budge maybe even through a little $$$ towards them and Spirit Lake (worked for Florida State), but the worst thing that happened was the cooling off period, because here we are talking about what UND's nickname will become this fall instead of spending time talking about UND baseball, softball, football and basketball recruiting and cheering on a nickname that would've been 5 years old. I hope when a name is picked they can market it as well as the Fighting Sioux name and logo, I know it won't reach that level (as the name and logo were unique as ever) but please market it as close as possible. Now when this is done, how long before a mascot is born?

Point being the Pats (especially Brady) cheated, whether it was the first half or first quarter they or he cheated and he needs to be missing some games this season for doing it.

UND football isn't a transfer haven team like the basketball team is, Bubba is doing it right by having a few transfers but recruit the majority of players from high school. All schools (including NDSU) have transfers so this is nothing new except the amount compared to the Muss era.

A lot of people (including me) will wear the Sioux gear until it dies but will still cheer on UND no matter what nickname is chosen, it's just sad to see people act the way Yababy8 is acting. There were more important issues like hosting playoff games, keeping conference affiliation and keeping games scheduled than keep the Sioux name and logo. UND had 5 years (2005-2010) to get tribal approval one approved, one didn't it's called life, it sucked but it's life. If you can't cheer on UND for whatever nickname is chosen I would be glad to take any tickets you want to give away.

Can you imagine the Flickertails beating the Gophers in hockey or NDSU in basketball or Montana in football? The crowd will cheer and everyone is happy, or will you be in your room with your Sioux jersey on pouting because the name changed 3 years ago. Get over it, UND won't be the Sioux and a new name is coming.

So if we put Dakota on the football jerseys like the Carolina's do we would be in bad terms with the NCAA ....that would be interesting.
