I agree, Miller looked head and shoulders like the better player to me.
-
You’re correct, my mistake. My memory of Tommy’s play when he was in there was impressive enough to know you guys were solid at that position. I just misremembered that he wasn’t actually the starter, he just played like he should have been.
-
Should be a good game. I expect a relatively low scoring game as both defenses are stout, especially against the run. UND’s offense has a clear edge against NDSU’s, but I saw some hope with Miller in that I didn’t see in Noland so hopefully the coaches stick with Miller.

Who’s crying, calm down. Simply stating that replacing key positions leads to a period of acclimation. Same reason UND fans felt better coming into this season with the starting QB returning than you would have if you had a fresh face at that position and other key spots.
-
I think that would depend on the year and the expectations leading into that season. This team is made up of a lot of new faces at many key positions, anyone outside of the extreme fanatics in Fargo knew this season would be a season with a lot of question marks. This isn’t exactly the 2013 Bison team with returning starters at nearly every position.

I guess some men are simply more secure than others.

I like your optimism and hope you are right, but those three values you mentioned are objectively on the decline with younger people. There is a rapidly decreasing amount of things that can be leaned on in tough times that bind us together in this country anymore. Sport used to be one of them, I hope that continues to be true in the future.

How original of you, dancing and laughing makes them feminine. I’m sure you’re man enough to express that opinion to their faces right?
-
Should they be upset? They won. The bar at NDSU is high, but these kids are all part of a brand new team whose record is 3-1(I’m not counting the fall as that was a different team) They are developing and learning and victories along the journey of development of any endeavor should be celebrated. There is plenty to work on for NDSU once the film study is done, but 10 minutes after a victory in the locker room following a game is not the time to be dissatisfied with a win because it wasn’t impressive enough for the program’s insane standards.
-
I agree, but what would you say are the common values that span generations?
-
Spot on, the world has changed. Spend five minutes on tik tok and see what the younger generations think is funny and you’ll wish for those five minutes back.
-
Yeah how embarrassing for young people to be celebrating and acting a little goofy following a college football victory. I’m sure UNDs locker room following victories is a beacon of focus and stoicism. Kids of this generation record themselves doing weird crap, it’s not confined to the basement of the Fargo dome.
-
Not good if true.
-
Really? Any names that have been mentioned?
-
Congrats on a huge win to UND fans. Caught the game a bit sporadically and UND looked damn good. Looks like the UND of my era, which is good for you guys, but will be tough for the rest of the MVFC.

I’m not privy to any details on his ndsu recruitment, but if he’s half as good as his dad or his uncle, ndsu made a huge mistake not going hard after him.
-
I see what you’re saying, but it’s an odd critique given the context was NDSU’s recruiting under Entz could be falling off. Is Bo Belquist playing for UND this weekend somehow evidence that UNDs recruiting is worse? Of course not. Players step up when asked to.
-
Yeah, I’m sure UND would hate to have more fans in the seats that don’t understand the game very well. Their money is no good in Grand Forks. Success expands the fanbase, they aren’t all gonna be football experts.
-
Couldn’t you say the same thing about any starter? Did they earn the job or are they simply the best player the team has? Not sure what your point is.
-
Nobody is making excuses. Simply discussing this literal once in a 100 years scenario all teams are in right now. I’m not saying ndsu is more or less prepared to adapt than any other team out there, just that the teams that are able to adapt will rise to the top. Will ndsu be one of them, we’ll find out.

This unique spring season will be challenging for everyone, but even more challenging for teams who are replacing many key positions. As I talked about, after one game it’s hard to take anything away from it. Was the lack of rhythm on offense a factor of a fall off in talent, inexperience, it being an odd spring season, first game jitters? I’m sure it’s a combination of it all at this point. The good teams will be standing at the end of the season, I’m hoping NDSU is among them.
-
The offense didn’t look great. In Noland it appears for the first time in over a decade we don’t have a QB who will change the game with his legs. His arm looks strong, but he was inaccurate at times. How much of that is first game jitters/early season lack of timing? It’s hard to say. Losing Seth Wilson again is a real bummer, he was the best all around back we had in my opinion. We’ll see, should be an interesting spring season here. If the offense does take a significant step back, hopefully the defense is strong enough to set the offense up with great field position and solid opportunities.
-
The jury is still out on Entz in my book, but the recruiting certainly doesn’t appear to have dropped off in his first two/three classes. We’ll see if the player development is able to keep pace in the next couple of years. Jalen Bussey, Kobe Johnson, Dominic Ganella are all contributing already and we’ll have to see on others. Not a ton to go on just yet, this spring season and the fall will be the first real look we have at Entz’ guys.

Will Ohio state get enough games in to be considered? They need to win their final two games(assuming they are played) to even be eligible for the B10 championship.

What makes you jump to the conspiracy argument? You know it’s incredibly rare for a 1/1 ratio between caregiver and patients right? They must be including administrative staff.
