  1. It doesn’t matter about experience in this context, only that they are the starter for a reason. If you take away the best player at three key positions, it makes things challenging is all I’m saying. If any team in the country lost their QB, best or second best receiver and their best running back, they would expect a major drop off. Correct?
  2. Why are most here confusing a conversation about reality with people making excuses? Has NDSU looked as good as this year as it has in years past? Clearly no, so people are describing why that may be. When a top 10 pick moves on early, you almost certainly are going to be hamstrung a bit at that position. When you graduate your top 2 running backs and the guy you were counting on to take the torch goes down for the year, you are going to have to lean on some inexperienced guys. I’m not sure whats happening with Sproles, but he was going to be a big part of the offense this year, #1/#2 receiver. These aren’t excuses, these are reality. If Maag and Schuster and Weah weren’t playing for UND would you guys be 4-0?
  3. The perception that NDSU is young/inexperienced I think is coming from the QB position. Trey leaving put NDSU in a tough spot, they were expecting to have him starting the next couple of seasons. If Trey is there and Sproles(from a recruiting cycle, both were expected to be there this year)would be there I’m not sure the perception of inexperience would be there. edit: add in the Seth Wilson injury Stuff happens, not saying ndsu is some sort of victim here, I just wouldn’t put it on recruiting misses
  4. Red river anything is out, as Texas and Oklahoma have that. Won’t even address the second one Third one might be onto something, King of the plains or prairie
  5. Seems pretty obvious he was going for a rhyme. 94 and war.
  6. That back shoulder throw was actually from Miller. Zeb clearly showed something in practice that made him the starter, I doubt they are going to write him off completely, especially if Miller struggles. Lots of question marks for NDSU heading into the rest of the season. I’m actually really enjoying the uncertainty this year. First season in about 7 years that I’ve actually been paying close attention because there is a feeling we may actually lose that didn’t exist in the past few years. Not intending to sound arrogant, just stating the odd reality of being bored when the outcome seems predetermined
  7. I agree. Miller needs to learn that ASAP or his season won’t last long. I think every QB needs that lesson as they move from HS to college and then again from college to NFL. Those hits are so much harder as you move up each level, can’t get away with trying to truck linebackers and safeties in college like you can as a stud HS quarterback.
  8. Bison fans won’t fail to admit that UND has a solid defense. I’ve said it here, I’ve read it on Bisonville, every analysis of the game I’ve seen mentions UND’s defense as a strength.
  9. Miller, though inexperienced, fits the mold of the successful NDSU QB’s. Extremely limited sample size obviously, but he also seems to have a bit more “gamer” in him. Making things happen when a play breaks down and you have to move on from option A.
  10. Been a minute since you put on shoulder pads and a helmet? Raising your arms over your head off to the side like that is impossible. To get your arms up high you have to move your arms forward first.
  11. I agree, if NDSU’s offense can somehow get something going it should be a close matchup. I’m hopeful that the NDSU pride will finally show up this week, but we’ll see. My heart tells me NDSU 24-17, but my head says different. We’ll see. 10%-NDSU wins big(14 or more) 30%-NDSU wins a close game 35%-UND wins a close game 25%-UND wins big(14 or more)
  12. I’ll have to take your word for it on the the two deep accuracy comment, never heard that before.
  13. I really hope that is just coach speak for the media, but Entz has a history, albeit short, of making boneheaded decisions so I wouldn’t put it past him.
  14. I think it’s a personal competitiveness thing, you get respect from your teammates for doing more than is required for the team. Also, sends a message at times to the defense that to bring you down requires extra people and you can show up your competitor a bit. These are hyper competitive alpha males for the most part, so any feeling that you’ve put your competitor down is a win in their mind.
  15. Fair prediction. I think NDSU rises to the occasion and looks a lot different with Miller running the offense this coming week. I’ll go NDSU, 24-17
  16. I mean...if given the choice between no film on a player and film on a player I’m gonna put money on 100% of D Coordinators choosing to see film on someone.
  17. Yeah, he isn’t just a big body, he can play.
  18. Agreed, Watson is good and maybe even will get a look if he puts up some decent numbers. But Golladay is in a different class, obviously. Think he was a pro bowler this year or last correct?
  19. Anyone who follows this board knows which of us is a troll. Take your meds grandpa.
  20. I have to think that will be the case. Miller’s ability to move in the pocket and keep the defense honest with a QB run seems much more in line with NDSU’s past success at the position. Our OC seems comfortable leaning on a designed QB run when in “off schedule” down and distances so I would think Roehl likes Miller much better after seeing his ability this past weekend. As far as NDSUs o line not getting push, I agree, but also Illinois State always gives our o line trouble, they recruit absolute monsters to their d line.
  21. Accurate observations from my perspective
