How would you compare it to other illnesses you’ve experienced?

Lol

What we’ll end up with is Parler will be where all the conservatives hang out and Twitter will be where all of the liberals hang out. More echo chambers and further divide.
-
We’ll see, if the government breaks them up then I agree. But for now, it’s there and AOC has built a hell of a following. I dislike everything about her policies, but you can’t say she doesn’t have influence.
-
In 2020, influence on young people can be measured in Twitter followers. AOC has power and she knows how to wield it.

It’s a pretty short paragraph by him, if there are things wrong with it, shouldn’t take much time to refute it.

The joys of political speak. “Lock down the country” isn’t an official term so it has no meaning and nothing hold them accountable to. If they locked down everything, closed every business, made everybody stay home under penalty of law etc, but kept open the government center, for example. Technically they could claim they didn’t “lock down the country”.

I agree completely. I would love to see the centrists on both sides of the aisle come together formally and begin a third party. I believe now would be an incredible time and they would gain some serious traction with the right leadership.

So if you are acknowledging that independent voters leaned toward conservative policy, why have continued to bang the drum that the GOP has to change? Seems to me they are positioned very well for the 2022 and 24 election cycles, and it’s the democrats who have an identity crisis. Letting the squad have any voice nationally was a huge blunder. If I was a democrat I would be spending money in AOCs district to get her voted out.

How much effort is it? Maybe you should ask the hundreds of thousands of small business owners in this country who have gone bankrupt since March or on the verge of going bankrupt. Your arrogance insults them.
-
Lost because of the black vote? Thats only accurate if you look at this election in a bubble. The trend line as a percentage has the black vote slowly reducing it commitment to the Democratic Party. This is clearly a major concern among Democrats, the house democrats mentioned it specifically in their conference call.

...and believe that ANYONE who votes for that person, regardless of the reason, is a racist, xenophobic country bumpkin and beneath them in every way imaginable.
-
So much tolerance
-
In the presidency, sure. But in case you missed high school civics, there were a few more elections of consequence in early November.
-
Exactly, the same people that will tell you that the United States has been racist since it’s inception and without major changes we are doomed to stay racist forever, will tell you that Trump is the reason for the division. Makes sense if you don’t think about it.
-
Also, to say Trump is the cause of all of this division is a cop out. Trump is an effect, not a cause. Which is why the divisiveness won’t leave when Trump does

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/black-men-drifted-democrats-toward-trump-record-numbers-polls-show-n1246447 12%? seems the number is higher than that and has been drifting more conservative for a decade. You say that the GOP has to take notice and change, who are they losing? They’ve gained traction in minority communities.
-
What modification do you anticipate? As long as Georgia stays red in the senate, this election was a win for conservatism. America spoke pretty clearly, they like conservative policies, but dislike trump. Gaining a huge percentage of black men during this election was a coup for the right. I don’t see the GOP needing to change, I see the democrats needing to focus the attention more on its moderate members and telling the squad to go kick rocks.

It’s not strong, it’s a direct quote I’ve heard from no less than 25 elementary teachers in my district.

I didn’t get cancer, aids, ALS or polio during the lockdown either, does that mean it prevented all of those things?
-
Hypothetical thought experiment for those brave enough to answer: If we close down hard again and then still have cases following that, what will be your explanation for that?
-
I agree. How many people refuse to get tested and just power through? Can you even blame them, test positive and your life gets completely tipped upside down for weeks. Not to mention everyone around you also has their life screwed up as well.
-
Your point was poorly made, if made at all. You bring up a grouping of things that trump has no role in and then end that same thought with trump isn’t doing his job. You were absolutely tying Trumps lack of “doing his job” to these things.
-
When the stock market gained 3% on Tuesday was that trumps fault too or is it just the bad things he get credit for?
-
Not true, I haven’t heard anyone say that. People advocating for opening up are saying that we should be protecting the vulnerable and giving those who are vulnerable additional options to keep themselves protected.
