  1. Wrong, it was Osterholm and Fauci and Jerome Adams who sewed distrust in March.
  2. And nobody has ever been hurt by a vaccine. People who think so are anti-science quacks. https://vaers.hhs.gov/ https://www.hrsa.gov/vaccine-compensation/about/index.html#:~:text=The National Childhood Vaccine Injury,be injured by certain vaccines.
  3. Which city, state, country has handled Covid in a way that you think holds up as an example for how to manage this?
  4. If something isn’t done to fix the rising cost of college, then this will be an incredible waste of money. Eliminating federally backed student loans would be a really good start to curb the problem.
  5. Especially when each of those states have had vastly different responses. The fact that Minnesota is spiking at the same time as the Dakotas bolsters this argument. Minnesota had locked down just as hard as any of the east coast states and yet here we are with the highest numbers we’ve seen in Minnesota. I think it’s foolish to think that anyone has “done it right” or “done it wrong” each state has taken its licks in due time.
  6. To answer that wouldn’t you have to do a comparative analysis of the states in question, with the variables being age and level of health prior to infection. A large percentage of the elderly population in both AZ and FL don’t live there in the summer. That has to be factored in.
  7. What is your response to my thought that the Midwest is simply finally having the virus run its course here versus the coastal states when it happened earlier? That explanation is far more likely that ND and SD we’re doing everything right with the pandemic in May/June when the coastal states were spiking. So either ND did everything right early and New York did everything wrong and then they somehow flip flopped that. Or, my first explanation is better. Which do you think it is?
  8. Hopefully following the unexpected down ticket losses the democrats had in the house, which they are blaming on the far left messaging, the leaders in the democratic party tell AOC and the rest of the squad to sit in the corner and keep their mouths shut.
  9. Saying we will be transitioning away from oil is the ultimate politician speak. Forces zero timeline and can never be proven false. It's the epitome of saying nothing and the same trash I've hated about politicians my whole life.
  10. I'm all for state autonomy, I think it's incredibly important. But what are the drawbacks of having a bit of standardization with the voting process? Seems like it has just lead to more problems than anything over the years.
  11. Does anyone else find the naming of both our domestic and foreign operations to be hilarious? We are talking about arguably the most complex, sophisticated system in the history of the world(the US government) and they name things like they are five year olds at a birthday party. Operation Warp Speed, Operation Unicorn, Operation Paperclip, Operation Chattanooga choo choo.
  12. What I find so interesting about human behavior(the market is a decent proxy for the mood of the country) is that the mere prospect of something positive can change behaviors even if in reality the parameters haven't actually shifted meaningfully. Flying was dangerous yesterday, but since the possibility of a vaccine came out this morning, people will be booking flights. Not AFTER the vaccine actually comes out, they'll feel safe to fly TODAY. It's really fascinating and truly does outline the power of information and how the media plays an enormous role in the mood of the country.
  13. This graph would be nearly perfectly inverted if you ran it in May/June. It's just burned through those states on the left already.
  14. I am serious. Vaccinations aren't 100% effective at stopping transmission of a disease and even if they were a very small percentage of our population will get this vaccine in the next six months. Whether that is because they choose not to get it or it isn't widely available in all areas. Use Influenza as your baseline. Does the vaccine stop Influenza from making it's way through our population each year? Nope.
  15. How does the potential of an effective vaccine somehow nullify the idea that Covid needs to make its way through the society for society to return to normal? First of all, it's "potentially" effective. Second, how many people do you think will realistically line up to be guinea pigs for the fastest developed vaccine in the history of the world? My guess is it will be minimal.
  16. I'm not saying the result will be different, I'm saying that an election isn't over until the electors have officially made their selection.
  17. You mean like the announcement of pfizer having a 90% effective vaccine a week after the election? Yeah, the covid response in our country hasn't been political at all. Also, the election isn't technically over yet. So to say, see I told you, is a bit premature.
  18. Hypocrisy on both sides, can you at least admit to that?
  19. In sales you actually keep score. He would know for a fact if he was the best salesman. Don't be an asshole.
  20. No they won't. Republicans will keep the senate. The takeaway from this election is that people like many of the conservative policies brought forward by Trump and the Republicans, but disliked Trump too much to have him continue as the leader of the country. Gaining seats in the house and keeping the senate is a real message to the far left democrats that their ideas are far too extreme and the democrats need to come back to center.
  21. What are your thoughts on it, not what some article says. The left and the people who voted for Biden are talking healing and inclusiveness while name calling. It's one of a billion contradictions from the left.
  22. How non-divisive.
  23. I think we’re headed for a relatively brief(2 weeks or so), but very strict lockdown. During this time, testing will be quietly slowed and cases will “plummet”. This gives the optics that if we had done that from the start it would have made a difference and we will slowly get back to normal around Valentine’s Day.
  24. Most of those suburban, stay at home moms don’t know a damn thing about where their husbands income comes from and how voting for Biden would hurt them financially. The amount of conservative husband, liberal wife households in the Minneapolis area is staggering.
  25. Do you think colleges will take days off and offer grief counselors for conservative students? It’s different when the left is involved, it’s important to recognize that.
