Why? You keep repeating that players have a better chance at going pro by staying at UND but that's just not true. This school has zero recent history of putting multiple players in the NFL or CFL. Go to Iowa, make some money, get a degree, and if you have the chance to keep playing then great. If not, you've got more money and a degree from a more well-known school.

He had already played his freshman year with a 2.07 GAA and .910 save percentage in 26 games before Karl joined the staff.
-
Karl was a full time assistant from 2019-2025. Name one incoming freshman goalie that he recruited during that time who left UND significantly better than when they arrived.

Davos heading into their fifth game in five days while the USCS on their second in four and fourth in six. Will be interesting to see who they play in net. Assuming Gajan is over his minor injury, I'd expect him to go.

You all would be so upset to know who is representing UND in Europe Be prepared for some green at the Olympics

Not surprising Canadian fans don't want to attend events in the US right now.

Nobody said it's great programming, but go ahead and pretend that's the case if it hurts your feelings less. It costs ESPN virtually nothing to show that content. It costs ESPN money to crew and broadcast college hockey but essentially gain no more viewers. College hockey does not bring significant viewership numbers.
-
Sure.... a state with open records laws decided to forego those to hire a backdoor replacement and are trusting high-school kids to keep it a secret. That also assumes the AD isn't feeding information to the local media on a regular basis. There's a reason you see the Herald with articles ready to go after announcements.
-
It's not that hard to understand. Those shows make more money for ESPN than broadcasting college hockey. The production quality and announcers needed toto move a game from ESPN+ to a linear channel does not equate to advertising dollars due to viewers.

I'd like to see Ben Barr get in and then obviously Smaby and JPL getting some assistant roles.

Clearly there is some agreement by at least one admin because take a look at the Other Sports section now. You can actually find the relevant other topics. But her new thread today in the UND Men's Basketball thread is a perfect example. "How did the UND Men's Basketball Team Do As of Late?" is a great topic to include in the 25-26 Season thread - where there could be additional actual conversation. And, if we're lucky, one of her blogs will spur great discussion about the 25-26 season, so doesn't it make sense that we'd want that included in the 25-26 season thread? It's a mixture of wanting a cleaner experience when trying to find certain threads while actually giving her blog more visibility by including her posts in the main threads themselves.
-
That's quite the jump. What part of the below gives you the idea that I'd like for her to be banned? @Und Princess has a blog post about the awards for Volleyball and Soccer teams? Go ahead and post those in the specific 2025 volleyball and 2025 soccer threads. It could build conversation about the post rather than a separate thread for each individual blog post. It also helps when people have her blocked so that they can easily skip over the posts, since threads started by blocked users are not hidden.

Hey admins - there have been quite a few new threads being created where it appears the sole purpose is to redirect people to someone's personal blog. I'm not against anyone promoting additional "articles" about UND athletics, but more often than not these new threads have zero replies. The "Other Sports" section is a perfect example. All of these posts could instead be included in their already existing respective sport threads. Instead, all of the legitimate threads about Other Sports are buried behind a couple dozen zero-reply threads about someone's blog. But truthfully, even when they are posted in the respective threads - there is no attempt at furthering discussion or interaction. It's essentially a copy/paste of "Hey Hawks fans, go check out my blog at this link. Have a great day!"
-
Or.... actually pay for the content.

Of course. An athletic scholarship is literally a contract that includes what will be provided by the university in exchange for what the player must do in order to recieve that aid.
-
They're not employees, they're freelancers. If they complete a project within the confines of the contract are they not deserving of all remuneration included in that contract?

I refuse to donate until Coach Schmidt removes the apostrophe from JYD's.

Gotta think he's on the hot seat after this loss -
How many scholarship kickers on the roster? Expect that number to go from 0 to at least 1.

Und needs a stable Summit because where does UND put its olympic sports if too many teams leave or get kicked out? Plus, maybe one day UND moves up to football only FBS too. There's so much realignment happening, why do something that negatively affects your own conference and builds a bigger divide with your closest school?
