Given that the players and coaches requested Chelsea Dagger as a goal song, I'm okay with it and a lot of Sioux fans appear to have embraced it. I get what you're saying about originality, but whatever keeps the team happy is fine in my book. It could be worse. At least the Blackhawks are the only team in the NHL that uses Chelsea Dagger. Several teams use Song 2 (Blur), Rock 'n Roll Part 2 (Gary Glitter), The Whip (Locksley), or Howlin' for You (Black Keys). Also, the UND band starts playing "Stand Up & Cheer" toward the end of Chelsea Dagger so fans get to hear both.

The Friday video contained quotes, old photos/videos, and highlighted the hard work, determination, and passion associated with Fighting Sioux hockey. The soundtrack was "In the Air Tonight." The Saturday video contained images of old newspaper headlines; National Championship game footage, audio, and photos; as well as a highlight reel from the last couple of years. The soundtrack was Clint Mansell's "Requiem for a Dream." Out of all the pregame videos I've seen over the years, this one is my favorite.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Kristo left. I've heard he's not a big fan of school. Also, I thought I read that Kristo could use the loop-hole Gregoire used to become a free agent. IF that is the case, he's more than likely gone. I would be happy to be proven wrong though.

A few WCHA fan bases adopted a rouser-esque chant recently. I attended a few road series this year and heard them in Bemidji and Duluth. Bemidji: "B-E-M-I-D-J-I, BEMIDJI, BEMIDJI, GO BEAVERS!" Dulluth: "B-U-L-L-D-O-G-S...." (I forget how it ends, but you get the idea) The year was my first road trip to Duluth so that chant may have been going for a while, but I don't recall hearing the Bemidji chant last season. The UND chant has been going for a year or two now. No clue how it started.

Even so, I thought it was a good crowd. There were multiple "Let's Go Sioux" chants throughout the game and the crowd cheered many big saves, hard hits, etc. Sure, it wasn't as rowdy as usual, but it wasn't a total morgue either.

They actually recalled Tyler Cuma, but Cuma missed his flight to Phoenix. I wish they would recall Chay. Chay Genoway: 23 pts in 55 games (6 G, 17 A), Tyler Cuma: 7 pts in 57 games (0 G, 7 A). Cuma scored 4 points in 31 games with the Houston Aeros last year. I think one of the reasons why they recalled Cuma is because he was the Wild's 1st round draft pick in 2008.
