  1. The games are currently scheduled to air on DirecTV (channel 617).
  2. Brad Schlossman posted his selections It really is unbelievable how much we've lost over the last year. UW Blogger Chuck Schwartz also posted his selections
  3. I believe Schlossman said DiPuma didn't get through the NCAA Clearinghouse
  4. Switchfoot - Where I Belong Senior Tribute video (courtesy of Bob in Wisconsin)
  5. Video of Frattin's goal: http://video.mapleleafs.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=802&id=162049
  6. According to Schlossman, new start time is approximately 7:27.
  7. A Sioux player broke a pane of glass during warmups. Both teams were sent off the ice and things will be delayed a bit. Pane has been replaced and cleanup continues
  8. Per twitter, Eidsness will get the start tonight. No changes to the rest of the lineup
  9. Jones wasn't there last night, and it doesn't sound like he'll be there tonight. A recent tweet indicates that he is in Ann Arbor today.
  10. UND Lines Nelson-Knight-Kristo MacMillan-Rowney-Parks Pattyn-Lamoureux-Gleason Senkbeil-Gaarder Forbort-Blood MacWilliam-Mattson Simpson-Panzarella Dell Eidsness Maris Scratches: Rodwell, Dickin, Grimaldi, O'Donnell Referees: Marco Hunt, Derek Shepherd, Linesmen: Andy Dokken, Justin Hills
  11. Schlossman said the numbering and lettering should be completed next week. Unless there is a leak, I imagine we will only see the jerseys if UND makes the tournament.
  12. Via twitter: There appears to be a pattern developing with Matteau. Last spring he was suspended for a hit on Colten St. Clair, and in December he received another lengthy suspension from the USHL. If this behavior keeps up, UND may dodged a bullet with him decommitting.
  13. Charlie Coyle, who left BU a couple months ago to play in the QMJHL, has signed a 3-year contract with the Minnesota Wild. Coyle had 14 points for BU this year (1/2 year) and 26 points all last year. He currently has 24 points in 16 games in the Q. Makes me think of JT Miller and the points he's putting up in the OHL - 59 points in 53 games (23 goals, 36 assists).
  14. Speaking of Jay Dickman, it sounds like he could possibly join the Fargo Force team this weekend http://slightlychill...ces.com/?p=1853
  15. USCHO posted a scan of the letter sent to UND by the NCAA http://www.uscho.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/2012-02-29_LeBel.pdf
  16. UPDATE: Minnesota-Denver game on February 10 - 57,000 viewers (via twitter) The numbers for the UND-DU game are impressive considering the late start time, not to mention the lead in game only drew 38,000 viewers. Root Sports reported that Saturday's game was the highest rated of the year in the Denver market.
  17. I wonder if this is the result of Wisconsin and Minnesota having to drop schedule agreements with UND because of the Fighting Sioux nickname. The UND-Wisco deal was set at 4 years, and UND was in talks with MN at the time the Fighting Sioux petitions were turned in. UND's loss is DU's gain?
  18. Welcome to Hockey Paradise Mike Commodore and Brian Lee
  19. The first group of numbers were on this blog, the Cornell/RPI numbers here, and the BU/VT and UND/DU numbers were on this Sports Ratings twitter account.
  20. The UND-DU game drew 86,000 viewers compared to 74,000 viewers for the Michigan-Notre Dame game. The BU-VT game that preceded the UND-DU game only drew 38,000 viewers. January 6 - Dartmouth vs. RPI, 38,000 viewers January 20 - Michigan vs. Notre Dame, 74,000 viewers January 27 - Yale vs. Harvard, 82,000 February 3 - Cornell vs. RPI, 64,000 viewers Febuary 10 - Boston College vs. Vermont, n/a* February 10 - Minnesota vs. Denver, n/a* February 17 - Dartmouth vs. Yale, n/a* February 24 - Boston University vs. Vermont, 38,000 viewers February 24 - North Dakota vs. Denver, 86,000 viewers *I haven't been able to find ratings for the Feb. 10 or Feb. 17 games. It would be interesting to see how UND-DU compared to MN-DU and BC-VT. An average of 62,000 viewers were tuned into NBC Sports Network at any given time last month.
  21. Matt Frattin was one of two players Toronto GM Brian Burke said he refused to trade Not included in the above article, but Burke had this to say:
  22. Yeah, it sounds like he is completely ineligible to play NCAA hockey Via the same source Tough break! Unfortunately, that's the risk these young players take when choosing CHL over NCAA. If things don't work out in the NCAA, a player can always go to the CHL. But If things don't work out in the CHL, a player can't run to the NCAA. It sounds like he might be able to join a USHL team if a CHL trade doesn't work out.
  23. Saw this on twitter and thought it was interesting: Ouch. A cautionary tale perhaps? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
