Up until this part I agreed completely. Malone is a streaky guy offensively. He'll go on a stretch of a few games where he looks great, then will disappear in the offensive zone a few games. I can't say I agree that he's a mix between Toews and Vandy. Toews is a really skillful player and Vandy hardly has a flaw. Malone fits pretty well wherever he is put. If we put him with some scorers, he won't slow them down too much (although won't be as skillful as a guy like Vandy), but if we put him on a checking line, he does great there, and can add more offense to a checking line. I think you could take a little bit of everyone on the team and make a Malone, whether good or bad. He's a great player to have with his versatility. As far as having Cichy, Kristo or Knight with Trupp....I'd say you have to leave Kristo out of it. His skill is a great fit with Gregoire and Vande Velde on that top line. I don't think you can switch that up. I do like the idea of Toews and Trupp together though. Trupper is a little guy with one of the biggest hearts on the team. Either way, the guys like Trupper and Toews will be the deal breakers come playoff time. If they keep the intensity levels and focus at a high, they can take us places. All playoff teams will have a decent top line or two, but when you get down to the nitty gritty, the championship teams can roll four and do it well.

I know it's "easier" to score on a shootout than in a regular game, but I think the guy cares about what the team needs so much more than himself when playing during regulation, which leads me to believe that he could score so much more than he does. Maybe I'm way off base, but the kid has so much offensive skill that it amazes me he doesn't produce more, which is a scary thought for a 21 year old.

Another Gopher thread...
-
I try to stay out of football topics as much as possible, because they don't lead to anything good, so this will be my last post in this thread related to Packers/Vikings/NFC North. 1) All the true Packer fans I know have been over the Favre thing since last year. I respect Brett as a Packer, but until he takes off that Vikings uni for the last time, he's an enemy, just like everyone else on the MN team. 2) Yes, the o-line is abysmal. With a little help, the offense would be one of the best in the NFC North. With virtually no line, Rodgers had the highest QB Rating in the NFL coming into the week. He's still young and will only get better. 3) I don't want to hear excuses from Vikings fans about not winning a Super Bowl. This forum gives Gopher fans enough crap about Minnesota being the land of 10,000 excuses, but they fail to look in the mirror when it comes to the Vikings. 4) Yes, the TB loss was horrendous, but playing in Tampa is like visiting the haunted house for the Packers, no matter how good either team is. I believe they've lost 8 of their last 9 or 9 of their last 10 there now...with all but two having Brett as QB and a lot better o-line. Still should have won, but that's why they play the game. 5) The season isn't over. The Cards sucked last year most of the season, and the Giants were pretty bad the first half of the season before that. Stranger things have happened, so until the Packers are eliminated, I'll still cheer my ass off until then.

It's funny how Vikings fans think they're king !@$! after 1 and a half good seasons when the team has never won anything significant in their entire existence other than one NFL Championship. Packers: 3 Super Bowl wins and 9 NFL Championships (12 total titles) Bears: 1 Super Bowl win 8 NFL Championships (9 total titles) Lions: 0 Super Bowl wins and 4 NFL Championships (4 total titles) Vikings: 0 Super Bowl wins and 1 NFL Championship (1 title) So, even the Lions have a better Title resume than the Vikings.

Hak said there were some off-ice incidents between guys, but left it at that. I don't know anything else.
-
I didn't say he did anything. It was an idea. Read the fukkin post.
-
Maybe the off ice incident(s) involved Fienhage, hence the no playing time...?
-
Well, we've had two of our "easier" opponents for four games now, and have only seen Dell once. I don't think the kid is going to see as much ice this year as some have suggested. With St. Cloud in town this upcoming weekend, I doubt we'll see Dell either game again, unless Eidsness has a stinker of a performance. It's a shame to see so much negativity towards Eids. It seems the guy can't give up a goal anymore without someone putting blame on Brad. I didn't get a chance to follow comments, nor get a chance to listen to the game this weekend, but all the previous performances he's been awfully criticized, sometimes fairly, sometimes not. Obviously Hak sees something that Eidsness brings that Dell doesn't. Let's get 4 more points against SCSU. I think a split is more realistic. St. Cloud can score and their goaltending seems like it's pretty darn good this year. It wil be a tough weekend with no guarantees.

Awesome pics and great story Bob. We haven't had as many people posting pics of home or away games of late, so it's great that you took the time to post them.

Someone doesn't read-pre game blog posts.
-
It's a start....glad to see he's getting ready to come back.
-
I was thinking the same thing...
-
I hope you are a girl.
-
Toews still hasn't returned with the Hawks yet...I hope his concussion wasn't that serious and this is only for precautionary reasons.
-
I didn't know he was acting! On a side note, it was nice to see the show go back more to its roots the last couple episodes. When they try to act funny and do stupid stuff, it's less entertaining. I think they should do more road trip episodes.
-
If his personality is anything like Jordan's, I'll pass, no matter how good he is.

It's a waste of time/energy. It's not worth spending millions and millions of dollars to get something insanely less efficient, especially if when an alternate fuel source is discovered, the wind energy could potentially be worthless.

I've watched all the FCS games so far (no other choice), and that includes the Gopher games obviously. It was pretty much impossible to make out any understanding of "F the Gophers."
-
Oh, I have heard of that one...just didn't ring a bell until seeing it again.
-
Anyone care to elaborate how it goes? Never heard of it...
-
Why? I don't think that was anywhere near over-the-line in a "friendly" rivalry.
