All we needed him to do was buy us one more second at some point in that 3rd period.... Man, that still stings....I almost forgot about that game too.
-
I don't disagree, I'm just saying that sometimes you get put in the right situation where you can put up a few points to keep yourself worthy of maintaining a position on an AHL staff vs. an ECHL staff, especially if he can bring the same defensive responsibility he did while at UND.
-
We'll definitely find out. I agree, the ECHL seems to be a better fit for Watty right now, but Rylan has gotten playing time in the AHL and I would think Matt can be just as effective as Kaip on the ice. Not only that, but he may get a better opportunity based on his 5th round pick status and North Dakota pedigree. Watty can fly on the ice, and may not have the greatest offensive skill set, but is a good two-way player and can be one of those role players that an AHL team might want/need. I hope he at least gets a chance. Sometimes if you find the right situation, a player like Matt can come out of his offensive shell to go along with his defensive abilities.

We have lost a fellow SS member / sioux fan today

If I remember right it was the upper bowl somewhere. One of the lower numbered 300 sections I do believe....correct me if I'm wrong. -
As many as he wanted....

I think that's pretty much an exact quote of what Troy would say -

I did happen to know Troy personally. We went on a few road trips together, watched some NHL hockey, drank a few beers (and then a few more). He was one of the nicest, funniest guys I've ever met and his passion for Sioux hockey was unparalleled. Have a good one Troy, we'll all miss ya. Rest in peace buddy. -
Who cares if it is true? I personally don't give a rat's ass what Ralph's done. The Ralph is awesome, but it's not the be all end all for Sioux hockey. UND did perfectly fine without Ralph Engelstad's money. If the Sioux had to play hockey on the outdoor rink down the road they'd still beat the hell out of the WCHA.

Yep, they are $10 each + $5 s/h for as many as you want.

I still have these items available: -1959 Diagonal SIOUX jersey -1954-58 NIKE Sioux jersey -Watkins Gloves -2006 Frozen Four patches (Perfect, inexpensive addition to any existing jersey to make yours stand out and make it unique) Someone got a hold of me about some patches, but my inbox was full so I lost the contact after I accidentally deleted the message making room. I apologize, but if you see this, give me another shout. Thanks again to everyone else.

I got my jerseys today! All four were in exceptional condition and I couldn't be happier. Shipping was very fast! Thank you!

Like I said, the font is horrible and cheap looking. Phoenix Elementary should be using it. Cue the *barf* emoticon...

A couple of Boyd links I found, not that it really matters anymore:

Being an avid golfer I've heard all sorts of stories. Never heard one like this, but before I make any judgments, I'd like to know in what manner did the one guy strike the other guy. I'm not saying that there's a RIGHT way or an ok way to hit a guy with a club, but it could be like one of those deals where you barely even tap a car in front of you while driving (so soft it doesn't even leave a mark) yet the driver of the other car is in a neck brace for 6 months just to get a multi-million dollar lawsuit out of ya.

This is my best chance to go to a Sioux game this year since they won't be going to Madison.

My avatar shows all the green jerseys worn since 1958. There's a cursive green that was worn 1950-58 which you can see pics of in the 75 Years of Sioux Hockey (or whatever its called) book. The jerseys on the site that AZ posted were made by me. Also, there's a link towards the top of the page on that site that shows the fronts. On the site, I also have a couple Frozen Four versions showing the patches on the jersey along with a Gemini version of what was the current Sioux jersey.

Anyone know where you can get tickets for the Shillelagh Tournament in Chicago?

That's just way too logical for many people.

Phil lands a job with Buffalo [per brad] http://areavoices.com/undhockey/ Congrats Mr. Lamoureux!

Grambling State also uses the Packers G. I know you said major players, but North Dakota is no more of a major player in college athletics than GSU.

3rd Annual 2009 Oshie Sports Celebrity Golf Tournament
Big A HG replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
I'm sure all the players for both tournaments are invitees, not guaranteed shows. Having been to the Oshie one a couple times, a lot of players make it, but understandably, a few can't. -
I don't mind any of the new logos, other than that HORRENDOUS new font they have. It looks so cheesy, I can't even describe how much I dislike it. I think it would be best suited for a 2nd grade soccer team.

Current logo one is mine! Thanks YaneA!

Hadn't seen it, thanks for the link. It was a pretty good listen, other than when she said "Spring Lake" in reference to Spirit Lake.
