I have no idea but it could have been: 1) Starting field position, I thought that they started deep in own territory. 2) Griz made some adjustments at half - sounded like they backed off on the safeties 3) I think both J. Jackson and Townsen were hurt in the first half. I don't think Jackson really came back into the game until late 3rd early 4th. All of those things could have lead to trying different things to start the second half.. I know later in the 3rd it was dropped passes and penalties that were stopping the offense.

Hey, I would love to see this game. Does anyone have a DVD copy they could send me?

Hey quick question, you seem to up on this stuff... I am getting ready for basketball season and know that UND sports and HD Big Sky streaming is going to my primary method for watching the games. I just purchased the Sony - Google TV product, but I was unable to download the UND Sports streaming app because it was not supported. What do you use for streaming? and do you know where I can find apps for both Big Sky TV and UND Sports that support Google TV. I typically use my computer. But, thought that I might be able to get rid of cable and just go with internet TV.

I fixed that for you.. I think part of the problem is that they are trying to hit vs. tackle.

Thanks for posting here, please come back and post during the basketball season. NAU has a nice team and it will be interesting to see how your season goes. The last game of the year Poly at NAU is shaping up to be a big game. But a lot of season to go until that game. It sounds like NAU has paid it's due and it is nice to see it paying off for NAU. I hope that the game is on FCS it will be fun to watch.

you and me both... and thats just it. Many times the players are in position to make the plays and they just don't get it done. Players in the hole in position unblocked ready to make the tackle and they don't even touch the running back ... QB sneaks for 3 or 4 yards on the goal line or when you have then pinned down. It is unreal. On a postive note, I have been impressed by both of the JC safeties - they have made some plays this year and are looking better each game.
-
I agree with you it did look like the defensive player was hunting on that play. It will be interesting to see if the Big Sky suspends the player. I believe that they have suspended multiple players this year. Last week it was four players. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2012/10/09/big-sky-suspends-four-players/

I read that and thought the same thing.. unfortunately the UND defense has given up a large number of 3rd and very long plays this year and then when they do finally stop them on a play with 5 missed tackles you give up a face mask for a automatic first down. You can not make up the stuff we are seeing on defense this year.

I agree with this.. Bauman is a very good running back. Everyone is keying on stopping him. Poly might be the better team due to it's defense. Both are very good teams and being in the Big Sky is fun. I do like seeing the Great West teams stepping up and playing well in conference. I do think the traditional Big Sky schools are surprised a bit by the compete level of the Great West teams.

man - the defense and tackling - just wow. NAU is a good team and Bauman is really good.
-
not surprised by EW.. and birds up 20 17 on the griz.. I wish that I had root sports..
-
Hey anyone watching the SUU game? - the T-birds are pushing the Griz.. SUU 13 and UM 17 in the 3rd and the birds on Griz 13...
-
absolutely, he is fun to watch... really fun to watch when he is playing someone else.
-
It looked like a arm/elbow injury - the play itself looked harmless.. announcers said that he would be out for the game. It looked like it changed the way NAU called plays. It will be an interesting second half. Bauman is as good as guys said.. Sioux were missing tackles left and right. I hope that his injury is not serious
-
It will be interesting to see how the UND defense responds.. giving the track record this year - expect a big game for Bauman.
-
Great to see Jacks fans posting on the board.. your input is welcomed. I am looking forward to watching Bauman this weekend. Is he a between the tackles type of running back? What type of running style does he have?

Here is a link to the press conference from NDSU tonight: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/246170/group/News/ It is described as the following: A 15-paragraph statement by the university president, an apology by the athletic director and the suspension of the starting running back by the head coach culminated a day that started with 10 North Dakota State football players in a courtroom. Am I missing something? When I listen to the AD I don't hear an apology. As a parent, when I ask my children to apologize for something they did wrong. I pay close attention to what they say making sure that it is an apology. Because, I think it is an important step for their development. Many times I have to work with my youngest daughter to make sure it is an apology versus an excuse. But, when I listen to the AD - I don't hear an apology. I only hear an excuse. Am I the only one that hears it this way.. time clip - 7:00 to 8:13 is when the AD is supposed to apologize.

The impacts players for UND need to make plays. They were in position last week and it didn't happen for whatever reason. They need to clean it up: Over thrown balls down field Drop passes Missed blocks - just wow in this department. Missed INT Missed tackles - we are talking about unblocked LBs missing the RB so bad they would not be down in a game of two hand touch.
-
I do agree that Poly needs to get the QB, but I think the key stat is 3rd down conversions. Poly is all about ball control and eating up the clock. UND needs to get Poly off the field when they have 3rd and 3 or 3rd and 4. If they do, I think UND wins.
