General thoughts on Bradley: 1) Throws well on short timing routes 2) In general, I thought that he read coverages well - at time he tried to force the ball. 3) Lacked arm strength and accuracy on longer routes 4) Not very mobile 5) Manages the game well and looked good getting the team in position with his reads and checks In his defense he was thrown into the starting role last year and he now has another year in the system. It looks like he has put on weight so he must be training hard. He has room for improvement and I am looking forward to seeing what year two brings.

I have to agree with you on this one. Landry had a big arm... and he was tough SOB. Finishing a game with a torn ACL against Poly not many people can do that..

I have always thought that UND is very lucky to have the Alrus Center and Canad Inn complex. When we go to games we always stay at the Canad Inn. I am looking forward to this years football schedule with Big Sky teams.

Any thoughts on who is going to be joining the staff.. I believe that they two positions to fill

Is it a starter from this year?

No problem.. sorry I derailed this thread into a nickname rant. -
Augustana and Morningside have hockey?

Seriouly, we still have USD and NDSU fans trolling the UND boards. You guys are funny.. I thought you guys moved on already. Best of luck with the Summit and congrats on the new arena in SF to play in.. I hope it helps the Summit make a major league step in the right direction. NDSU Congrats on the FCS win this year.. just one note - one big difference is that one schol is stepping up to play the best the other is playing among peers. Just a reminder UND national championships games where against Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan St (2), Boston College, Boston University and N. Michigan. NDSU - Central State, N. Alabama, USD, Indiana (PA), Portland St and Sam Houston St. The other are polls... Again, best of luck to the Big Dakota 3 - hey Johnny how many basketball games did you travel to this year. UND and SDSU?

Yep, got it SCSU is part of the WCHA - very informative wasn't sure why UND had to play them in the Final Five this year.. I thought we were talking about NCHC thus my point was about the recent event surrounding the formation of the NCHC and SCSU not being a founding member of the conference. It was SCSU opportunity to rid themselves of UND. What did they do, on the surface blew smoke about not wanting to be a part of the conference. Then saying that UND was icing them out of the conference due to SCSU role in the nickname policy. While working the back channels and leveraging connections to get into the conference. SCSU played the moral high ground for years saying that playing UND is a moral hazard - yet they worked so hard to get into the National Conference. It is an absolute contradiction by SCSU and the complaint they filed with the NCAA previously (NOTE: UND was/still is Fighting Sioux and the complaint by SCSU was one of the primary drivers for the nickname policy). So, Dave which one is it? moral hazard or not. It appears that it looks good on paper when you are forcing your agenda on another school, but apparently when SCSU has a little skin the game - not so much. Again, walk the walk - SCSU showed its true colors - take the moral high ground only when it convenient - it builds true character. Again, looking forward to all the conference games - but less is best when it comes to SCSU. -

I am looking forward to playing all conference teams. I think that it will be a great conference. I just have very limited respect for the SCSU adminstration and think that the school should walk the walk - can not stand playing UND - don't put UND on the schedule. NOTE: I live in the Twin Cities and I have travelled to SCSU for several games just not a fan. Our group has a lot more fun at Mankato games. -

Dave: I know that you have a man crush on SCSU, but I can not stand SCSU and sooooo wanted them left behind in WCHA. Most of it is based on the fact that SCSU admins have gone to great lengths to horass UND fans trying to attend games and fabricated statements about how horrible it is to play the UND. I say fine, don't schedule UND - please. So for me less games against SCSU the better. -
I believe that the Champions Club set a record for donations this year. I am sure that some people stopped but thousands... I believe the Champsions Club has approximately 2,500 members..

Yes, congrats looking forward to next year.

It looks like ORU was one of the last four out of the tournament. They had a very nice team. Best of luck to ORU as they move to the Southland. What a winter season for the UND: W-Basketball - GW Champ and postseason bid M-Basketball - GW Champ and postseason bid M-Hockey - WCHA 5 final five trip and pending NCAA bid W-Hockey - First NCAA bid in program history and hometown canidate for Patty Kazmaier Award for best female collegiate hockey player.

I do not understand why they had the tournament at a location that did not have a team eligible to play. Plus the schedule of women games in the evening and mens during the day seemed strange.
-
Great job for the mens team.... getting ready for the Big Sky
-
I wish this game was on FCS or SiouxInsider (Why is the womens game on SiouxInsider and not the mens?) because NJIT and UND have had a bit of a history when playing each other. I think Jones had to be pulled backed a couple of years ago in a game against NJIT. So, this could be an interesting game.

I not worried by SU students - I am worried by SU alums
-
I still have two tickets left
-
I have several upper level tickets for Saturday against Mankota - face value plus handling charges.

I will have to look for the information... I believe it is noted in the UND lawsuit against the NCAA or in the SL lawsuit against the NCAA. I will take a look and give you a link when I find it.

Actually the interesting note about CMU is that State of Michigan passed a resolution against NA usage in the mid 90s. I believe the E. Michigan changed its name from the Huron and CMU has not. Here is a link to the state resolution and a chapter out of a book talking about the issues surrounding CMU. State Resolution http://www.michigan.gov/documents/mascots_69612_7.res.pdf Interesting Reading. http://books.google.com/books?id=0TG2s-lIldYC&pg=PA64&source=gbs_toc_r&cad=4#v=onepage&q&f=false I find it interesting that the NCAA gave approval despite this information.

Hey thanks for the Aug 5th date, I took my date from the news article discussing the policy. I understand your comment about not being directly against, but the NCAA has been very strict with UND on getting approval - I believe they rejected approval letters from SL. Another aspect of the Oklahoma tribes backing off "could" be related to record revenue at the Florida casinos - $2 billion and growing. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/the-buzz-florida-politics/content/report-says-seminole-tribe-casinos-are-cashing-despite-economy

According to this article in the USA Today ( http://www.usatoday....-approved_x.htm ) The NCAA granted namesake exemption without formal approval from the Oklahoma Seminole tribe. Based on everything that I have seen, the Oklahoma Seminole tribe has never approved the use of the name. "But dissent has been voiced within the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, primarily by general council member David Narcomey, but the council has taken no official position on the FSU issue, according to Jennifer McBee, the tribe attorney general. Narcomey, saying he was voicing his opinion only, wrote in an e-mail to USA TODAY of the decision: "I am deeply appalled, incredulously disappointed ... I am nauseated that the NCAA is allowing this 'minstrel show' to carry on this form of racism in the 21st century." The amazing part of all this is that the NCAA issued the policy on Aug 12th 2005 and by Aug 23rd 2005 the NCAA had changed the policy to allow namesake exemptions and completed a review and approved a school to use this exemption in one in 8 business days.

http://www.e-referencedesk.com/resources/state-name/iowa.html The nickname, Hawkeye State, was adopted early in the state's history. First suggested by James G. Edwars as a tribute to Indian leader Chief Black Hawk. Two Iowa promoters from Burlington are believed to have popularized the name.
