Seems like a lot of people are fired up about the punt... I am not sure that I agree with the call. I am sure he was going with the fact that special teams and defense had given the team more opportunties to score by making plays - more than the offense had to that point in the game. Let's face it the best QB on this team was playing WR two weeks ago - that does not leave you with many options..

I think it will be up and down next year also... unless one of the QBs in the system comes out firing... spring ball will be interesting.

If Davis, Townsend and the other recievers had not gone down early and Bamba leaving the team - he would have red shirted. I think it came down to body counts at the position. This years team was paper thin at WR/RB/OL and QB. I think that will be changing as things start to balance out going forward.

I would ask this question? Do you see much difference in this team if Dale L was still coach of this team. I don't, Lennon left because he saw the writing on the wall and that it was going to take about 4/5 years to build the program at the FCS level. Plan and simple it will take time to build the program at the FCS level. You have two basis paths - JUCO and FBS transfers or recruit and build. It is hard to go with option one when you do not have playoffs as an option. So, you have to go with recruit and build and that is a slow process that takes 2 to 3 years to see the any results. Plus, recruiting to this point has been at a disadvantage because of no playoffs. Again, I am not saying that I am happy with the state of the program. But, it is going to take time to build the program.

I disagree with most of you - I think the Coach Muss is doing fine. Last year during spring practice he talked about how this was going to be an up and down season. In fact, I believe that he noted that this team will have a rough couple of years because it was going to be young. In addition, he noted how important it was last year to get QBs and skill players into the system. He seemed very happy to have the two QB recruits last year. I think we saw this year what he saw coming. Unfortunately, it take time to turn things around. So, I do not look for drastic improvements until 2012.

Sure why not? Heck - somebody should pull the Bowie Knife that is in Fullertons back and we can play for that - - I wonder what we should call it? It is too bad that UND and USD are not going to be in the same conference because.. most conference tournments take place around March 15th - we could have celebrated the "Ides of March" with a game. NOTE: darn it... the GW Tournment is March 10th through the 12th we could celebrate our last conference tournment with USD as the "Ides of March" tournment. Hey, I think I have a nickname for the Slummit Basketball Tournment in Sioux Falls - The "Ideas of March". Ok - Maybe it is too soon to have fun with this?

My thoughts: UND is going through three transitions: 1) Division I 2) Coaching and 3) Scheme. This is going to take a min of two years to run its course. Mussman said earlier this year that this year and next are going to be a challenges and they are building for 2012. UND is build via recruiting and using the red shirt process as much as possible. So, I had my expectations at 500 ball for the next couple of years. If we had to win now, I am sure we would see lots of shirts pulled and numerous JUCO and FBS transfer players. But, I see UND as trying to build a solid base through the transition. It is going to take some patience and for me the final grades will come out at the end of 2012.
