My gut feeling is BB gets one more year, so take that as a good sign. I thought the same thing about Bubba for a couple days after the season ended.

I certainly would agree. The problem is that it was before many on this board were even born. Same with our hockey glory days.

The reality check is that NDSU football has far surpassed UND hockey. Even in our hockey glory days we weren't that big just because hockey is and always was viewed by too many as a niche sport. Lots of hardcore followers but the average sports guy gravitates towards football. It's going to take some pretty good years to build any nationwide excitement back into the program. That's the reality.

I read on inforum that Fargo has three now and one in Moorhead. This will be the fifth for FM metro. Funny thing is restaurants seem to be closing as fast or faster in FM than they are opening.

Everyone was convinced last year that Jerry would be the starting quarterback. I'm not assuming anything right now.

Hard to make money when you're being taxed to death.

But it hits the instate landowners too.

I am in favor of eliminating all property tax then, not just on the residences.

It would make more sense to eliminate the income tax.

But I hear some of the entrenched ones want to change and lengthen the number of terms they can serve. I imagine every term they will try and stretch it out further and further. I have zero respect for the ND Legislature.

Valpo never excites me no matter where we play them. Same goes for other teams like Drake which tend to show up every few years. I don't care if it's an easy win. If we need to schedule crap teams to pad the record we aren't ready for the playoffs.

How do you propose to get into an FBS conference when none of the other Dakota schools have been successful? I'd venture a guess that two of the other schools might have slightly better credentials than we have and no luck. I'll grant you that it appears SDSU hasn't tried very hard either to move up though

I don't think anything or anyone could have kept Golladay here. He had the FBS mindset and knew he was good enough to have a shot at the pros. I never blamed Bubba for Kenny leaving. IIRC he announced for NIU within days of Muss being gone so the long search made no difference.

Trust but Verify. We'll see how things go by the end of the season.

The Bison seem to move their coaches on to FBS and the NFL, even the ones they didn't want any more. We move our coaches on to "Senior Positions". That says a lot about the state of the program.

Way too many far rightwing phony Christians in ND to ever get gambling expanded. I'm a devout Christian but have no opposition to controlled gambling. The only reference to gambling in the Bible is a neutral reference to Roman soldiers casting lots for Christ's clothing after his crucifixion.
