3-1 win for Hawks. That match was all Merseli. What a find for Pryor.

Lisa Marvin had 2 assists in UND's win over Bemidji last night. Just an amazing person.

Schools that have been in the Summit every year since 2000: 2, Western Illinois and IUPUI Schools that have been in the Big Sky every year since 2000 (actually since 1996): 8, Idaho St, Montana, Montana St, Weber St, Northern Ariz, Eastern Wash, Sac St, Portland St With Idaho returning, the Big Sky will have 5 of its 6 original members (started in 1963). Only Western is an original member of the Summit. Seemingly, with a core of the 4 Dakota schools and UNO, the Summit's stability is much improved. However, UNO and the South Dakota schools are within the footprint of other conferences, notably the MVC. How long would it take them to bolt if the MVC came calling? So I don't buy the Dakota schools staying together forever.

Men's hockey season can't start until the Saturday of the weekend 25 weeks prior to 1st round of NCAA tournament, so October 1 this year. Not sure why the game isn't Sunday though, typically the Manitoba exhibition is on a Sunday. Personally, I enjoy football/hockey doubleheaders.

To these posters bitching about the students: What about the 1500+ others that left early? I'm in the lower level of 205 and it was noticeably sparse to start the 4th. On the whole though, I thought the crowd was great.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2016 - 2017 Season

What is the number of NCAA runner-up finishes by NCHC teams? UND 5, CC 3, Denver 2, UMD 1, Miami 1 (Denver had one vacated) -
The interlocking ND is still a UND logo for this academic year; it doesn't get retired until 2017-18. It will not be on the ice next year. I don't know what will be, but it won't be the Sioux logo or the interlocking ND.

I read what bison73 wrote so I went and listened to the podcast. What Faison said was nothing like what bison73 implied. At least to me. You take whatever you want out it.

He didn't say that, as least not how you've spun it. "[R]ight now, for this institution, we are committed to having football". It was in the context of conference affiliation; the gist being that when they look at conference affiliation, right now, they have to have a home for football.

I think once a "smarty pants" taunt has been thrown down, the thread should be closed. There's no coming back from that.

Nice of Larsen to fall on his sword. I will never believe that Bresciani was in the dark on this.

Just registered my daughter for the fall. Parking permits are virtual and tied to your plate #. You can register more than one vehicle to your permit (can't remember how many), only one on campus at a time obviously.

I don't think so. I think it is green and white striping to match the striping on the pants.

Official SiouxSports.com Logo Reaction Thread and Poll

On Nebraska Omaha's logo, the black band is a "U" and the red band is a "N". Combined, you see an "O". The long tips represent maverick horns. I'm not making this up. -
Incoming freshmen class announced I think the only one not mentioned in this thread previously is Abbey Stanley.

I'm in for 4.

I wasn't aware that volleyball was treated differently than basketball or football but I guess that it is. They could play immediately under One-Time Transfer Exception. Thanks!

Volleyball roster is up. Looks like Sprengleler, Place, Spacek and Harnett are gone from the roster. All freshmen. Place seemed to be one that wanted to play closer to home, not sure on the others. As far as new faces: Ziegler, Brueggeman and Johnson are freshmen recruits officially announced by UND in December. Tepavac, Merceli (JC transfers) and Vail (Baylor transfer) were announced this spring. Others: Chai Pappa from Stanley played at Bismarck State last year and was NJCAA honorable mention All-American. Tamika Brekke from Eden Prairie was at North Carolina Central last year. I assume she will have to sit a year like Vail. Maggie Smith is a freshman from Colorado. I guess she gave a verbal commit in April but I saw no mention of it from UND. She is a PWO. 9 new faces this year, 8 last year.

Conference tourney change - WCHA going to best of 3 series for quarters and semis at home of higher seed. One game championship at home of higher seed. WCHA Playoffs Xcel Center is vacant next spring.

M/W Tennis are required sports in the Big Sky. Soccer and Softball are not. Softball and soccer have shown improvement. Both teams were at the bottom of the conference again this year, but they were much more competitive than in past years. The tennis teams, not so much. I think the HPC will also benefit softball and soccer.
