Cary Eades twitter posts pop up every once in a while in my feed. Just a general observation - he sure likes posting picture of himself with his shirt off.

Damn. Missed that one. Great response.

Everyone on here has an opinion but who on the forum do you think is running the show at UND?
-
I just hope this ends soon.
-
Surprisingly it is a similar time frame as the last hockey National Championship we won as the Fighting Sioux. The year 2000.
-
well - the Kennedy barrier is gone. Let's hope she wants to prove a point by writing a check to the university.
-
Serious question - She said she was done contributing with Kennedy still there. How did the scoreboard get done? Was it committed before she said that or does she consider Engelstad foundation money a different pot vs what she referred to?
-
More importantly has KEM written a big check yet?
-
I wasn't intending to comment on that and I agree with you. I just don't believe that the staff neglected their duties in helping him remain eligible as another has stated.
-
As I said - it could go the other way too. Being eligible to play football can be a motivator for getting your school work done too. As a college freshman - a year out is a long ways away. Having a short term goal can be more motivating.
-
One of those two told me personally during the Bohl era that they had to refrain from reporting some things or they wouldn't be allowed near the locker room or team anymore.
-
I don't understand the criticism of Bubba and staff for not setting Weah and others up for success when you have no idea what was done for them. I don't know all the details but I do know they provide a lot of academic support for the players and have for many years. I don't think playing in 2-4 games really took him away from his studies. As was stated on here earlier - having something to strive for athletically motivates a lot of kids to do their school work. At some point students have to do the work - nobody can do it for them. Unless it is the Gopher basketball team of the Clem Haskins era.
-
I thought the same thing. Show some leadership. As much as we would love to still be the Fighting Sioux - it ain't coming back. It does show how much the sports world differs from corporate America. Corporations make painful decisions all the time that aren't necessarily popular with the employees but leaders are expected to find a way to support them. You wouldn't last long in a leadership position in many corporations while openly subverting decisions the organization has made.

The article stated that he really helped Krutwig develop at Loyola. This was in their student newspaper I believe. Not sure if the guy's opinion is accurate or not. I was not a big fan of Shanks play either. That being said, being a great player is not a prerequisite for being an effective or good coach.

2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs talk
Siouxperman8 replied to The Sicatoka's topic in Non-collegiate sports
And the rules say they can't review it. Might want to fix that NHL. -
This is the that article talks about how he helped a younger player at Loyola (Krutwig). http://loyolaphoenix.com/2019/03/column-who-should-replace-bryan-mullins/ Krutwig’s seeing success because he can shoot and rebound, but he can also pass like a guard. He benefited under the tutelage of 7-foot center Carson Shanks, a graduate transfer during the 2017-18 Final Four season who was held back by miscellaneous minor injuries throughout the season. Hang on a second. Shanks took Krutwig under his wing and helped transform him into the MVC Freshman of the Year, has a great basketball mind and is getting a bit of coaching experience as a volunteer video coordinator at his alma mater, University of North Dakota. I think we’ve found a match. Think about it. Krutwig, who was already great coming into college, managed to get even better with Shanks’ help.

President, MBB coach, VB coach

Please elaborate while leaving her politics out of it - since you believe that wasn't a deciding factor. Only that she didn't care about the state.

What will we do without updates on the Red Sox?

Two big things HH would bring over MK are: Tact - to quote Oxbow6 She has ties to ND and gives a damn about the university and the state in the past and in the future. This it true whether she is the president or not. MK has no particular affinity for anything ND other than his job as president of UND.

Long ways to go but - same for Heidi?

I live in Minnetonka. You would know but word here is Motzko made a run at him for UM but that was quickly shut down.
