Coaches are really excited about this kid. Playing time was a big factor.

I didn't but I was about 10 years old when the float in question was made so not in much position to do anything about it. I am not sure what you mean about the free school lie. A friend of mine had his daughter transfer from Morehead State to UND because the cost was less than half due to the extra money she could get because they are NA. There is nothing wrong with that in my opinion but it is not a lie. -

I have always said he stereotype the nickname opponents should have been after was the one shown in Family Guy, not the type portrayed by UND when we used the Fighting Sioux name. I think it proves my point that the PC folks were misguided. -
His point was that you have no idea why these kids are leaving or even if they are leaving at this point. Some of them might have been told they are no longer welcome. Football takes a lot of time and for some it might be the right decision focus their efforts on academics if that is what they need to do. To attribute everything that is happening to the liberalization of America is arrogant at best. You really don't know what is going into their decisions.

I back Hoffner in this whole issue except for bailing out on Minot State. Per their SID he was asked about going back to Mankato if it was offered and he said he wouldn't do that. It really puts them in a bind and and isn't something I would have done. When Hoffner was interviewed at Minot State, Linnell said, Hoffner was asked whether he might be interested in going back to Mankato should the opportunity arise. “He was asked at least once, if not multiple times, about going back there. He said he was committed to us 100 percent,” Linnell said

SIOUX vs. GOPHERS - Thursday, F4 Philly style Gameday
Siouxperman8 replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
You were #1 all year and you are satisfied with losing the championship game because you beat a rival that your coach wouldn't play during the regular season because it was an 'unhealthy rivalry'. And please don't spout the BS about the nickname being the reason. Donny only came up with that after he got so much abuse from both sides for not wanting to play UND. So....beating UND is what you really are after to make your season yet don't wany to play us. Kind of strange -
Section 110 at the Wells Fargo Center.

I have seen him speak twice since he was hired and also spoke to a current player about him. It is hard to imagine anyone questioning his fire based on what i have seen and heard. He may or may not have other shortcomings but a lack of fire and passion are not among them.

We are in section 110 and got our tickets through UND. -
Just got our airplane and game tickets. Looking forward to Philly. Anybody have a lead on hotels where UND fans might be staying?

Does anybody know what sections UND has tickets in for the first round game? -
we are getting iowa/marist in SW Twin Cities.

During the championship game he was wearing a Bemidji State jersey. I recognized him on the jumbotron when he was dancing again. He started with a grey hoodie over his head but then dramatically pulled it off to show that he was the same fool that had danced the night before.

I also heard that he was still on campus for second semester so not sure of the truth.

thanks. I am now watching on FCS

My brother in law was offered a job in Warroad to get his son there because he was a good bantam player. He turned them down.

I am a public school fan and I hate the recruiting that goes on. I used to feel bad when we lost players to other schools but as my kids went through the programs it was much more damaging to the local kids when others moved in and pushed local kids out. The public school administrations love the transfers because of the state $$ that come with them. I think it is ove $10k per student. Our district has over 100 per grade which adds up about $10-12 milliion per year. Many kids transfer for things other than sports.
-
As does Warroad in hockey.

Hopkins is the worst but my son's class at Minnetonka had 12 tranfers for basketball his age from 9-11 grade. 5 as freshman, 4 as sophs and 3 as juniors. Many of them leave for various reasons but flush out the local kids on the way. His senior year Minnetonka started 3 Minneapolis , 1 Eden Prairie and 1 Benilde transfer. Kids don't go to the basketball games because they really don't know many of the players.

Breck got beat tonight by Orono.

Warroad scored with 1:34 left to tie. eaded to 2nd OT.

That would never happen because Kessel is not captain material. Per one of his teammates at MN, they were happy to see him go becuase he was such a jerk regardless of his talent level.
-
This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. The fact that the team lost doesn't change who he is or anything about him. He works his tail off on every shift and every trip up and down the ice.

Not sure I can follow that logic. If Parise was captain of the Canadian team they probably would have still won and he would be a hero. Is Parise a different guy from who he was in 2010 when he was an alternate captain and we won the silver?
-
It's foolish to think that Parise as a captain has the same influence with this team vs. a team that is together long term. It would be different if they played together all year and over a longer time period. If we score on one or two of the penalty shots and breakaway the game probably turns out completely differently and Zach is a hero as a leader. Athletics are like that and Kane had a much bigger impact on the penalty shots than Parise had since he was the one that took them.
