  1. Sharing in case anyone missed it. Hopefully, that future star that is in Peewees or Bantams goes to UND! http://www.nbcsports.com/video/full-episode-road-through-warroad
  2. Weak clearling attempts and plays from the D starts with CONFIDENCE. Their tentative/transition game, which sucks, with its glass and out is contingent to the theory in reducing the small margin of error. Again, it's from confidence and not trying to make mistakes. Hence, the crappy play C. Poolman and Penski (given his progression) have had a respectful freshman campaign. Freshman "D", generally speaking and their transition to college is one of the harder positions to adapt to, given the college skill, speed and physicality level. C. Johnson is he great now? No. In his junior/senior year, will he be good? He "Should be" trending with that vision/goal. He's a 4-year player. In addition, "should be" a good 4-year player. Scoring issues with the forwards? Again, that comes from confidence too. See Wilkie, perfect example. You don't score 35 goals in your last year in the USHL if you're a mediocre player. College level is a whole new ballgame and it's a tough adjustment for "most" players unless you're elite. See Brock, Jost, Oshie, Toews, Parise, Stafford, Zajac, Nelson, Drake, Duncan, Bochenski etc. Anymore brain busters?
  3. This is comical and mental. I want my time back from reading this stupid commentary. I guess this logic doesn't apply to the Chicago Blackhawks with their logo and not so great city (given specific areas) of Chicago. Oh, wait, they have 3 cups in 6 years. Just saying.
  4. Wilkie having 0 goals is incredible. I just don't want to rip the kid though. In addition, Hoff only having 2? In October, Hoff was the best freshman of the bunch on both sides of the rink and played with some tenacity. Where's the progression?!
  5. Who keeps bitching about skill and talent? This team has more there than the the injury year season and Rocco's campaign years so shut it Team needs garbage goals a string of confidence going forward.
  6. Then it's flooded and a commodity. Going forward, no benefit of joining if everyone does. :-(
  7. This is the right time for UND to get a sweep. Jost will lead and a few others will follow. Sweep, but close games I'm anticipating.
  8. Will be interesting to see what player turns out better. Him or RR's Costello, both, obviously going to UND so it's a win-win.
  9. Skinny tall? Meaning he needs to fill out too? 6'3? Interesting...
  10. Grand Forks/Fargo area people, how tall is Judd Caulfield? I will watch him on tv during the state tourney in a few weeks.
  11. I have friends down there and a free place to stay, unfortunately your best seat for this tournament is on the couch these days. Saving my money and supporting my team for west regional. I've gone to this tournament twice in the last 3 years or so. It's dead to me (coming from a die hard WCHA Final Five fan). Last few years you could get cheap tickets off Groupon too I'll pass this year and going forward and save my $$$
  12. In all honesty I don't know who can play with Brock. He's had zero chemistry with everyone up front.
  13. Spot on here. Their ship has sailed. Also, thoughts on Bowen on 2nd PP unit? I know he's a freshie but why not? He's got 5 goals and at least he'll bus his ass off to the corner and battle where the team is super complacent on PP during puck battles. Olson on the PP? No more!
  14. I doubt this too. At UND you have better odds of playing for a national title than Minnesota in the last 10 years and current. It's a fact. In addition, Shane won a natty as freshie. He wouldn't have it any other way. Well, minus him getting mono last year. I and a lot of MN players would never play for Lucia.
  15. I would say no. Costello is younger and soon to be power forward. Has a brighter future.
  16. Team has talent and skill. It lacks a consistent identity. The players have to go to the net and get garbage goals too, they really struggle in that department. They're not tenacious enough. In addition, they can't control their momentum at all. Team has been shutout by - Gophers, Dogs, Tigers. Bottom line, this team shouldn't get shutout 3 times, none less to Gophers and Tigers with their squads. On the positive side, I've said it a lot, things can't get any worse.
  17. Tuesday's GF showdown should be interesting. Toss out that first meeting. Evidently, RR didn't have a goalie back then and they've found their game. Central going in is obviously the favorite. A close game would be nice for all to showcase the GF talent.
  18. Could be overthinking this. Name the top 10 D in the NHL. Not too many of them played college hockey - Burns, Karlsson, Doughty, Carlson, Keith (well played brief at Mich St) Hedman, Weber, Seabrrok, Subban etc. Matt Greene - Has won 2 cups and has a great NHL career. That should be enough from a marketing standpoint.
  19. Brock played desperate hockey this weekend? I must have had the wrong game on tv.... Best team UND has played all year and Brock didn't do much in 4 games against the dogs. Just saying. Needs to evaulate his play imo. A good player gets points in big games. Jost did...
  20. Time for Tomek. Time for Smith. Time for some young guys to take control and the lead the way. This team is a top-16 team. I know they're are. Will they ever play to their potential? That's TBD. Might not happen, unfortunately.
  21. 3-0 should have put Tomek in. Give him some minuets. Bubs is in love with Cam. In addition, how is Cole Smith not playing?
  22. Calling Mr. Wilkie. Tonight's your night. Let's go!
