We lost that game in OT. This year we win by two scores at least.

Coach addressed this in UND 360 podcast. The running back room is talented. If you have 52 offensive plays, like we did against UNI, and four quality backs it is tough. I think they each got between 6-8 carriers. Z will get his throughout the season.

Learned some interesting stuff from Coach Schmidt on UND 360 podcast today - anyone heard about "the six most dangerous seconds in football" before? Worth a listen.

Hustle and defense cn steal us a couple of games plus the locker room is less toxic this year thanks to addition by subtraction.
-
Spot on - kicking it through the end zone is overrated, it is much better to make them catch it inside the five - most of the time we drop them inside the 20.
-
Our defense is quietly flying under the radar especially the run defense. I like our chances as this staff has proven they can develop a solid game plan each week so far. Look at how Montana has run over every other opponent except us this year.

Anything academic would fall under "categories that SU does not compete in".
-
Other than SU I think the table is set for a surprising year - of course the most important part of the season starts next week.

I was speechless when I read the comment about Kostich. He's probably among the best special teams coaches in the FCS and if someone needs a reason to wring their hands it would be that we lose him.

Great to keep raising the bar, next week we will take down a ranked team. Just a side issue but I believe we are 5-0 in covering the spread.
-
Yup can't control it.

Who's the pretender?
-
I have always said last years team was four points away from the playoffs. Our defense fell apart in the last five games. But the cupboard was far from bare coming into this year.
-
Why is it that everytime we have a player be what our coaches thought he would be someone starts wringing their hands over losing them. Once in awhile I chat with some parents of players and they say their son is very happy at UND, making progress on their degree and love the facilities. Of course that could be just talk and of course we are going to lost a player now and then, but why worry about it - enjoy the players we have while we have them and enjoy the season.

Never knew you to be a pot stirrer, it's the first year under a new coach with several new assistant coaches. What would make you happy at the end of this year?
-
Except that in 2024 Minnesota's population went up 2.4%, however you can always find a contradicting study.
-
I have never see North Dakota ranked top 10 in anything except dunk driving (#5). Minnesota on the other hand makes top 10 lists for education, healthcare, economy, infrastructure, fiscal stability and opportunity.
-
I think one of the unrecognized high points of this season so far is our run defense. Look at Montana's rushing stats, they have put up more than 300 yards a game on every team they played except UND. This is the year to grab a rare win in the UNIDome.

Easy road trip, hoping this drops the price of tickets by the time we get there.

A fan site is not a reflection on the level of interest, most fan sites are the same dozen fans/anti-fans posting over and over sometimes under different nicknames.

If he is splitting time at St. Johns it would appear he has found his level, no diss intended. St. John's is a quality program, almost always in the top 10 for their level and great local support. Homecoming this weekend the cars will be parked all the way out to I-94.
-
Off week so going to make a short drive to Saint John's and watch Trey taking the snaps, they are using two QBs equally right not.

It seems to me that a rural North Dakotan who has no connection to either school naturally gravitates to SU because of its agriculture education roots. Might also be cause if they don't have a connection their neighbor's kid or someone in their family has an SU connection. Perhaps the slam "if you want to work on a farm go to SU, if you want to own a farm go to UND" pokes them a little also.
-
Agreed, I also think a player takes a lot of hard hits and it wears on the body so it's okay to limit them in the preseason, plus that room has plenty of talent.
-
That should make the pre-game football Pointpoints pop (sarcasm).
