So does this make it appear like the only reason our assistant coach's salaries are competition is because Bubba has been declining raises and passing the money down?

Really? Does it matter where they come from? Seem a little small-town thinking.

Just when I was getting interested in attending the tournament - would like to feel we would be playing beyond the first round both women and men.

KUHL-J was a massive addition. Excellent example of defense leading to offense, willing to go after every ball in his reach. Gotta be on the list for newcomer of the year.

Actually I feel everyone's pain, I'm just among those who understand that constant b#tching on a fan site accomplishes nothing and has been said before recruits, parents of recruits probably find this place. Not that it needs to be all sunshine and roses but there is little doubt this site often becomes a cesspool of negativity and has driven some away. I'm ready to move on from Bubba which means a couple of years of regrouping. Unlike some I have my season tickets and I pay my Champion's Club dues no matter what the situation.

No coincidence that the perpetual negative posters see this as more than a mixed negative. They see what they want to see and continue to rub their hands at bad news.

Trying to figure this out - so does this mean in all cases that when a coach gets down to his last two seasons on his contract the only option for a school is to renew them during their second to the last year or suffer through two years with a lame duck coach?

Position and assistant coaches move up and move on. It's what they do. The same posters who complain about the quality of our coaches are now gnashing their teeth when some of them move on. It appears UND has been hiring pretty good assistant and position coaches the past few years. There are more in the pipeline.

Wow, you are really stretching to find something to complain about. In less than five minutes I could find pictures of highly successful coaches that put more focus on their job than how they dress. One is coaching a team in the Super Bowl.

I am ok with that, it is not a GQ job.

Appears the two final candidates were very close, like his leadership and professional background and regional roots. If the only tipping point for Landry was his UND Legacy that has been severly damaged.

Having been to SDSU for football games it is quite evident they invested money in the program before the last two years. Their facilities are top notch, the community/corporate support is huge. There were dozens of businesses that had booths in their tailgating lot giving away food and promoting themselves. In turn the fans are coming out (until the temps dip below 40 degrees - sarcasm).

He hooked an OC that SU wanted.

No matter what you think about opportunity and looking out for yourself. Bottom line is if he was still looking, or had any doubts, he should not have taken the UND job. He could have turned it down and kept looking.

There is a ton of missing facts and side issues.

That would have happened before the interview and him accepting the job. Now we know that everything that he said after accepting the job was lies and hypocrisy. No spin zone.

What does it say about the integrity of a person who is interviewing for a job at the same time they are accepting a job and making a big deal publicly about how happy they are to be taking that job? I'm sure since he's a local kid some will be able to spin this, but it is a very poor reflection on him.

The spinning will be epic.

I'm okay with some of the fifth/sixth year guys moving on with their lives. We have some good recruiting years and those guys are ready to step up. There will be growing pains but the D has no where to go but up.

Then any championship won with six year seniors should also have an asterisk right?
