  1. He can't. But I'll bet you could find some comments from Sioux fans excited about a 2 year contract to play 1-11 Idaho. If I remember properly, Central Michigan played Purdue in a bowl last year and were ahead or tied with a couple of minutes left in the game.
  2. If they are, I would be surprised if they were not at least a 2 for 1 deal. I don't think any of those would be a home and home,
  3. Lets not declare Mr. Sorenson the fastest athlete in FCS football yet. In the 3 events he swept at the state meet, he would have finished 2nd, 5th and 6th in ND Class A.
  4. UND should have learned from NDSU and held back a couple of scholarships. If all 7 stay for 5 years, that leaves 6 scholarships available over the next 4 years. I think NDSU would have liked to have more than 3 available over the last 2 years.
  5. They averaged over 18,000 last year in a building that seats 18,900. I don't think that equates to a huge increase in gate receipts. The last time I checked, NDSU doesn't double the price for certain games like a school to the north does. There is NOT an outcry from Bison fans to renew the rivalry.
  6. You may get the better home game, but you can forget about the FBS game for the first three years. FBS schools are looking for 6 wins against bowl counters. UND is not a bowl counter until at least the third season of the transition.
  7. That would delay the renewal of the Bison-Sioux rivalry a minumum of 10 years. How would you give serious consideration to an anti D1 move candidate. I can't see him being a finalist.
  8. NDSU had at least one decommit. Brian Lawson, a DL from Chicago signed with Northern Illinois. Also, Xerxes Griffan A JUCO from California apparently had a change of heart. Also, Bohl said he didn't get everyone they wanted. He said if you do, you're not recruiting the right type of kids.
  9. So if he is found or pleads guilty, what should his suspension be? I would say for a second arrest in less than a year, 1 game was awfully light. Sometimes when you have the privilege of playing a sport for a school or organization, guilt doesn't have to be proven before action is taken. Just ask Michael Vick.
  10. No, I'm sticking with the retractable roof stadium. I'm guessing he didn't know about one thing in your post. Maybe that's why UND coaches decided to "move up" the construction date of that stadium on the recruiting trail. They were using the "Rick" script of recruiting pitches and it wasn't working. That list of "famous" alums must knock their socks off. I'm thinking you would have had to live in North Dakota at least 40 years to know who half of those people are.
  11. Kind of tough to base the feasability of a stadium on playing a team that is not on the schedule. I'm not sure you are going to get NDSU in that new stadium. However, even if they do it will be once every 2 years, not once a year. Knowing UND's marketing strategy, they wouldn't fill it for an NDSU game either. If they follow the pricing strategy from the last UND-NDSU game, by that time they will be asking $200 a ticket.
  12. It would have said "offers" from Wisconsin, NDSU and UMD if they were actually offers. NDSU already has a commitment from the 2nd best receiver in Minnesota. I'm guessing they are going to be pretty selective if they bring in another receiver.
  13. I'was just wondering why a possible new stadium 15 to 20 years down the road would come up in a recruiting visit? Obviously the UND coaches are mentioning it to their recruits. A kid from Wisconsin wouldn't have heard about it anywhere else. He's not going to read about it in the local paper.
  14. That's an interesting quote from the recruit. Apparently UND coaches are telling recruits the outdoor stadium with a retractible roof is a done deal. Do you suppose they are also telling them that the Big 12 and Big 10 are fighting over them and they will be joining one of those conferences?
  15. If this thread is to guage the interest level of NDSU vs. UND Football, Perhaps this is a better indicator. Average attendance for the 2007 Football season: 2007 Sioux - Approx 9,000 2007 Bison - Approx 18,000
  16. So Sioux fans, did UND offer Horner from South? How about Bourne-McFarland, a receiver from Bloomington or Reid the linebacker from Milwaukee? Or is it if NDSU got him UND didn't want him? I hear that more from UND fans than NDSU fans.
  17. According to the sports telecasts the day he verbaled, Vetters dad said he had offers from both UND and NDSU but felt Fargo and NDSU was a better fit.
  18. He may be very good, but I see the Minnesotapreps.com website has him as a Division II recruit. Is he better than the TE NDSU signed from Minot Ryan? That is an honest question not any smack talk. I know nothing about either one of them.
  19. Yeah, The ONLY reason a recruit would pick NDSU over UND would be because of the lack of a post season. That seems a little bit arrogant to think recruit couldn't possibly like the NDSU coaching staff, school and facilities more than UND's. I think NDSU, with Bohl or Perles or whoever is the head coach will get their share of kids even after UND becomes playoff eligible. And if they play again in 3 or 4 years, I'll go out on a limb and say NDSU will have a chance to be competitive, maybe even have a chance to win. (We can dream can't we?) By the way, If no recruit could ever turn Coach Lennon down, why has he won only 1 National Championship?
  20. I'm not trying to start anything here, but wouldn't it be interesting and a bigger draw if the Sioux opened that tournament with Western Oregon instead of Crookston? You see Crookston every year if not twice a year, why not play Western Oregon and then have a chance at Montevallo?
  21. I believe Morehead State is in the same conference as Valpo (Non-scholarship), so they would probably come to Grand Forks for a price. Really don't think you want them since it would be a massive blowout. Stay away from going to any either of the Montana Schools since they both apparently have no trouble of backing out of contracts to return games on the road. Montana burned SDSU and Montana State burned NDSU. Make them come to Grand Forks first.
  22. I was at the Bison game last night also, and to be perfectly honest, they weren't even taking tickets at the door to get in. If you showed up you got in. And the lots were full because instead of paying $3 to park, they were paying drivers $10 to park just to fill the lot. And the end zones are actually just large sheets of fabric with people painted on them to make it look like the seats are full. I guess the Bison's secret is out. I think next year they are just going to give up and play at Dacotah Field with the 4,000 seats that are left there. Maybe they could at least make that place look half full.
  23. That's funny. I've been to two UND hockey games in the past 7 years, and got free tickets through promos to each. I guess NDSU isn't the only one doing it.
  24. So since we seem to be into comparison scores, Before the Sioux play Southern Utah the week, Should we all agree that whoever fares the best against Southern Utah this year is the better team? They will be the only common opponent this year.
  25. How many students were at the game? Around 3,000? BTW, My Season tickets in the Fargodome at the goal line half way up are $18/ticket.
